The Slayer's Mind (Smaug's Bane Trilogy) Hob...
Anger festered like a roaring flame in my veins as my gaze
landed upon the stark white Orc who was slowly making his way towards us,
towards me, astride his white Warg. Like a stick hammering on the skin of a
drum, my heart pounded in my rib cage as I pulled my sword from its scabbard
with my already bloody hand curved around the handle tightly.
Boldly I raised my sword up into the air, its sleek blade
somewhat shining among the burning trees. My enemy's eyes landed on me and an evil grin filled his scarred face. He spoke in his tongue, the tongue I knew only I could understand; the tongue of
his filthy creatures that I had forced myself to learn all those years ago when
fighting the war against his old master. His words spilled over me in that
hateful tongue as I tightly grabbed my swords hilt and kept his attention off
of the Dwarf and Hobbit that were at my feet.
"Hello, Princess," He growled as I stared at him with disgust
filling my eyes, "Time to finish what we started all those years ago."
Authiel Galadhrim arrives at Bag End, Hobbition,
on the same night as the Thirteen Dwarves and Gandalf the Grey for the wizard
had asked her to. She discovers that they are indeed going to do something that
she feared none would ever do. They are going to reclaim Erebor from Smaug the
Dragon. She leaves with them as a ready defender towards the dangers that will
be waiting on the road ahead of them.
However, perhaps Erebor is not Authiel's true
purpose for setting out with the company; especially when she does not reveal
her true to the people she travels with and the anger that festers in her heart
grows by the hour as word reaches her ears that her sister's killer is still
alive and kicking; ready to finally end her family line in the way he swore all
those years ago. In a storm of pain and blood.
Will things go according to plan or will an old
enemy of all step back into the light?
Who will survive?
What does the slayer have on her mind?
