Love isn't typically a feeling you can force upon yourself, it just kind of happens.
Whether you want it to or not.
Once you start to get to know another person you begin to lay yourself bare to who they really are. All the quirks and complications, past experiences, you discover what fills them with joy and what tears them apart. You share your dreams and ambitions for the future, assuming that one day you'll be apart of it all. You become acquainted with their imperfections and the profoundness of their heart.
You return the favor by starting to open up, confessing to them your deepest secrets and desires. Day by day you become more and more vulnerable to this person you're unknowingly falling for. Without intending to, you give parts of yourself away, that you normally hide from the rest of the world. Somehow this relationship that you've been building up, becomes your center. You put all your trust into this one human being, and the trust turns into love.
Pure, genuine, unconditional love. A love so deep and so overbearing that if unrequited, it could have the power to destroy you from the inside out.
It'd be endless drowning in your own mental torment. A downward spiral that drains you of all your emotional and mental energy. It's the feeling of being desperately and completely in love with someone, all the while knowing that your affection will never reach them.
