The Innova Chronicles: Risen
Have you ever seen something in your life, something so beautiful, so breathtaking, that you couldn't help but just stare in amazement? Now imagine that that something is trying to kill you, 24/7. Welcome to the year 2189, where wildlife runs rampant and the animals' only wish is to eat you alive. After the world was decimated by war, poverty, and the overuse of resources, it was a dust bowl. The remaining people banded together to recreate the once beautiful home planet they call Earth, and the most intelligent minds in the world created a solution. A serum that used radiological components to help stimulate growth everywhere, from trees to animals. Unfortunately, man cannot tame nature. The world grew out of control, spiraling into chaos. And from the chaos emerged two sides. The UTPF, a new-age government that swore to protect the people of the NNAU, and them. The Nightwalkers. Mutated by the serum, their skin was dark and blotchy around all edges, their eyes in vibrant colors, littered with chemical reactions. Their mutated appearance was countered by their enhanced senses and physicality. Cast out of society and painted as monsters, they have been treated as freaks, animals, and worse. The only way to end their cruelty? Declare independence from the UTPF and rage war.
Cedar Raevac has known the cruelness of the UTPF. She was tortured and experimented on as a kid before escaping. Now, she wants revenge. But the only way to get into Wakeson Base, the place responsible for her nightmares, that holds the key to winning the war? Trusting two humans to help. Not to mention it's hard for them to trust someone named things like the Horseman of War to lead them on most likely a suicide mission. Her offer, though, is one only a madman would turn down. Passage to Red City, a modern-day paradise, safe from mutated animals called Arcmals and Nightwalkers alike. So, there's just one question on the table...
What are they willing to do to get to paradise?
