Tyrawell serves none but her illusion." As the discussion continued, the Essod liege Raelmorn found himself torn between the traditions of Eskcia and the pragmatic counsel of Commander Ceedar.

Emeline Briyar was the daughter of a Lord of East Anglia. Betrothed to the son of a Lord of Wessex, who could lay claim to the throne one day. All her life she had been trained how to be a wife and a mother. That was until her town was pillaged by Danes. Now she was a Lady of nowhere but the road she travelled and the sword she carried. And then she met Uhtred, lord of nowhere, and his band of merry reprobates and along with them, Finan- the foul-mouthed, warrior hearted Irishman- whom she very soon found laying claim to her heart.
