After Mafuyu confronts her mother about her real feelings - and runs away to Kanades house - her father decides that she should go study college abroad in America, since he it might be better for her instead of staying all cooped up in Kanades room. She doesn't want to go though. But he's done so much for her - it might be for the better. She'll still keep contact with the rest of Nightcord. So, it should be alright.
