I started writing an I guess fanfic about Ruby and her tragic life after everything. This story is before the Darkest Legacy after Into the Afterlight. This is how Ruby deals with everything. It is incomplete but, if I continue is up to the people who read it. Yeah so... I'm just gonna put it here.

I couldn't believe it. He was there and he was with her. I saw the hate in him rise but never was it so strong, never so hateful, never so dark. I started to back off, but he already had a grip on me.

eden nothway is mainly a red but is a mutation where he has parts of green, blue, yellow and orange. He escapes with martin and ruby with cate. Darkest minds adaptation

IAAN- Idiopathic Adolescent Acute Neurodegeneration. It kills 90% of kids under ten. It's the disease that plagues my world. And no one knows what caused it. At first the people feared the disease because it killed 90% of America's children. But then, they feared it because of what it did to the ones who lived. The ones like me. It turned us into freaks, as the adults like to say. The disease gave us special abilities. We were strong. The government feared us. As the government does when it fears things, it locked us away. They segregated us by colour, by danger, and sent us to live in camps. But I won't have that. Jia Thorin won't have that. I will do whatever it takes to stop this, including joining the Children's League, an organization that advocates for the kids of America, the ones who live. The ones like me. Spoilers for The Darkest Legacy by Alexandra Bracken!! Basically an extension of TDL, but written by me. Prologue Part 1 & 2 are Ruby's POV and the rest is Zu's POV because we need more Rozume than we got. Rubiam, Chida and Priyana are in this book, I won't break them up because that's too much to handle, and yeah! Enjoy! McKayla was a normal sweet girl. She was polite, sweet and grateful for everything in her life. Then the plague hit. Millions of kids died and the government didn't know what was happening. When the plague ended barely any children were left alive but those who were developed powers. McKayla was heartbroken to be took away from her best friends and her home. But she met four kids that will help her through her journey. Her crazy journey.

I never quite understood death, not even when over half of my class died from IAAN, and most adults began to hold us at arms length. But when my brother died, death had become a constant companion. I remember when my parents found him too. I had been woken up first because my room was at the beginning of the hall. I had already gotten out of bed when I heard their loud weeping. My parents said I didn't have to go to school that day, but I wish I had gone, then maybe I wouldn't have been subjected to their grief and anger. That night as my parents tucked me into bed and my mother gave me an extra long hug, my father only had one thing to say, "It should have been you."
