Selim grows up in a deeply religious family, surrounded by routine faith and unquestioned tradition. From an early age, however, he is different-quietly questioning existence, truth, and the limits of human understanding. His doubts are not rebellious but philosophical, making it difficult for those around him to understand him.
As he grows older, the tension between him and his family deepens, especially with his father, who believes peace comes through absolute submission, while Selim sees faith and thought as something more complex. His studies in physics further expand his perspective, revealing the precision of the universe but also deepening his existential questions rather than answering them.
Feeling increasingly suffocated, Selim distances himself and travels to a remote mountainous lake, where nature becomes a silent space for reflection. Observing a turtle laying its eggs and birds moving in perfect formation, he realizes that explanations like "instinct" or "laws of physics" are only partial labels for something deeper and still mysterious.
In the end, Selim does not find final answers, but reaches a quiet inner shift: instead of seeing questions as a burden, he begins to accept them as lifelong companions. Returning home, he carries a new sense of calm-one rooted not in certainty, but in acceptance of uncertainty itself.
