Dragonless, she had spent most of her youth in the ancient and sprawling libraries of Valyria instead of flying over it on dragonback. Until she met Aegona. Daenys Targaryen and Aegona Daezgygar became inseparable at three-and-ten, spending all their time with each other. Aegona taking Daenys all over the Valyrian Freehold with her dragon Pryjagis, and Daenys recanting for hours all of stories she had ever read to her friend. Then, tragedy struck. This is where this story begins. Set in 115 BC, thirteen years before the Doom, comes this imagined story of love between the famous Dragon Dreamer, Daenys, and a long forgotten Valyrian girl, Aegona.

After the dance of dragons the mighty Targaryen dynasty only had one dragon left at their control. However luck was turning it face one more time to the Iron Throne. During the first five years of Aegon's III reign more than six hatchings had occurred in Dragon Stone, since the king proclaimed the island to be the place for dragons to reproduce and be raised freely without much human interference. Those new dragons all died after birth, some were monsters, others were too small, and some had broken wings . Many believed that the Age Of Dragons had gone, with the last remnant of old Valyria slowly going to extinction. That until Rhaena Targaryen dragon, Morning put a clutch of five healthy eggs, which allowed the hatching of three new dragons that would become the saviours of the dynasty.
