The story begins in 1990, when Angie Pacifico, a young film student, and wannabe screenwriter, moves from Idaho to the Emerald City. She meets a young woman, apparently very different from her, who turns her life around completely. Angie finds herself right in the middle of the newest, craziest, most interesting and most diverse music scene of the time. Her life intertwines on different levels with the story of various bands of the local grunge scene, with Pearl Jam being the main focus.

Natalie was afraid of many things in her life. Heartbreak, meeting new people, taking risks and chances. She had fears that clouded her dreams and judgment. Up until she met this man, Eddie Vedder. He broke her from this world of fear and showed her the beauty of life... and the beauty of them.

Vin and Joss are latchkey kids navigating their complicated lives during the mid-90's in parallel and sometimes intertwined stories. Vin and Joss form an unlikely friendship in childhood that, after years evolves into a teenaged relationship with sexual tensions and convoluted emotions. Vin is a 15 year old boy who on the outside, looks like he has it all. He's popular, good looking, knows how to dress and has good taste in music. Vin has a badass reputation amongst his peers because he has no curfew, drives without a license and smokes (a lot) but at home he has real, adult responsibilities. He has a chronically ill mother and two younger brothers that need him to provide stability and love. Joss is a 12 year old girl that lives with her mentally unstable 30 year old mother, her 11 year old brother, 1 year old twin brothers and her 20 year old cousin. Her father works overseas and is rarely at home, providing only financial support for his family. Joss is smart and attractive but socially awkward and withdrawn.

*This is a story I wrote in loving memory of Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell. It does touch on the sensitive subject of death, so discretion is advised. * Chester wakes up in a hotel room confused and unaware of unsure of who he is. The only person he remembers is his long time friend Chris Cornell. He thinks he's there to visit him and remember the good times they had, but the bitter truth will prove otherwise.

This is a poem dedicated to the legendary Chris Cornell. I've been a lifelong fan and tried, hopefully succeeded in making a worthy tribute to the man combining my own feelings about his death as well as some of the things I think he would express to his loved ones who mourn him. This book was originally titled "My letter to Kurt Cobain". I changed the title to "Grunge Is Dead" in May 2017, and I changed it to its current title in October 2020. This book began in 2015 as an open letter to Kurt Cobain, shortly after I became a fan of rock music and started exploring bands. Since then, music has become a huge source of inspiration and guidance throughout many hardships in my life, and I feel an intense connection towards certain musicians due to the impact they've had on me. This book was updated after Chris Cornell's death in May 2015 and again after Eddie Van Halen's death in October 2020, paying tribute to them and explaining their personal impact on me.
