Teddy Keane is different . . . to put it lightly.
So naturally having an IQ ten times that of your high school peers doesn't exact put you on the 'to befriend' list.
For the majority of his life it seemed that no matter what
Teddy did, he could never fit in. That is until one night on his walk home from Campus he sees a man getting mugged and fighting for his life in an alleyway.
To Teddy's own surprise he drops his books, runs into the fray and accidentally manages to save the guy. It's only after the scuffle is over that he realizes he's just rescued Ryan Miller, the town's best footballer - who happens to be roaring drunk and insisting that he could've handled it by himself.
After that, Teddy doesn't expect to see Ryan again, but when Ryan goes out of his way to find Teddy and thank him - he can't exactly refuse. Teddy never thought he would find a best friend, and he certainly wasn't prepared for what Ryan had in mind - teaching Teddy how to properly fight.
