Twenty-six years after their escape from the wilderness, Tommy and Natalie have raised their family, living peacefully in Wiskayok. But just when it seems that all is finally calming down, the arrival of a mysterious postcard forces the Scotts to confront the truth they tried to bury. I was thinking about what it would be like if those who died, like Laura Lee, Jackie Taylor, Crystal, and Javi Martinez, went to another place after death, a place where they would have to fight to survive, a place that at first seems wonderful in the morning, but when night falls, monsters appear that they would have to kill. Each one would have a chapter about how they got there, a chapter just for them, then the others would follow. Over time, their personalities would change, just to see where this goes.
