Dave Strider loved John Egbert. Being 15 years older posed a bit of a problem. But he'd watched this kid grow up, and regardless of how weird he knew it was, he couldn't help it. Then along came the baby in the box, left on the sidewalk. Dave took him home, and raised him alongside the little Egbert kid. The kids grew up, but still he babysat them.
