This dark fantasy book explores the journey of Ambie, a mutated human in a post-apocalyptic future, who possesses the ability to phase his own body through objects. Heavily inspired by Tatsuki Fujimoto's Fire Punch Themes: Justification for fortune and misfortune. the human condition. the state of being irredeemable. the sum of one's actions not defining their worth as a human. Love, loss, obsession, and dissociation. Cycles of bliss and suffering. Historical Context: Cancer was cured in the 21st century. The cure for cancer led to innovations in immortality, and now cells can replicate indefinitely without the risk of turning cancerous. Slowly, biology has adapted to longer lifetimes, so that a couple thousand years in the future, "exotic" genes now arise uncommonly as mutations from contact with sunlight. It's like the new cancer 2.0, where the impacts are much more spontaneous, but you might get something cool. The exotic genes seem to be in some way dependent on the host's psyche, where an exotic trait is somewhat more likely to suit a niche the host feels important. For instance, a sniper may develop extremely precise vision. The factor that psyche has on the exotic gene is unknown (it has a huge factor). Limitations are currently unknown, but these genes have been shown to contradict our current understanding of physics (the prime example of this would be levitation). Human development time has doubled, meaning that to be an adult, one will be around 40 years old.
