Why did you write MaddAddam, I’m sometimes asked?

The Pigoons gave me nightmares, literally. I still can't look at a pig without thinking of those things. Your mind must be a beautiful and terrifying place. I mean that with the utmost fangirl respect.
This explains so much. I remember opening Year of the Flood. I loved the story, but there were so many unanswered questions! Like so much of your writing, I went into it expecting a sequel, but received back something entirely different, unexpected, but earth-shattering.

I noticed in reading Maddadam that there are many relative clauses punctuated as independent sentences. Is that intentional?
