Niall's P.O.V:
"Liam?"
" 'Ello Ni!"
"Liam, it's two in the night!"
"I think you mean morning." He giggled before hiccupping. His speech was slightly slurred and his voice was higher than usual. " I love you!"
He was drunk.
Again.
You see, this was a regular thing. Liam would call me in the middle of the night and tell me he was in love me.The worst thing?
He would never remember it in the morning. Why? Because he was drunk. Every damn single time he confessed any feelings to me, he was drunk.
The next day, it was as if nothing happened. As if the late-night phone calls never existed.
"Liam you should go to sleep." I said sternly.
"But I don't want to, Ni!"
"Yeah, well I'm tired. So as long as you let me sleep, I don't care what you do."
"No, Ni! Please don't leave!" He pleaded, but I could tell it was the alcohol controlling his extreme emotions.
"What do you want, Liam?"
" I want to tell you I love you." He sighed.
"Haven't I heard that before." I muttered.
"What?"
"Give it up, Liam! You do this at least twice a week! You call me up in the middle of the night, drunk, and tell me you love me. What do you want me to say? That we can hop on our unicorn and ride off into the sunset? Even if I did, you wouldn't remember anything the next day. I'm sick and tired of you playing with my heart. Stop fu*king around with my emotions!"
"So you do love me?"
I had no idea what to say. I did love Liam, of course I did. But I loved the sober Liam, the real Liam, my Liam. "Of course I do." I sighed.
He hung up.
