Diego, Five, and Lila arrive at a party at the Mexican Consulate
They all looked around the party, searching for someone
"I don't see dad anywhere" Diego said
"Just keep an eye out for the Majestic Twelve. I got the upstairs" Five responded
"Diego," Five called out and Diego turned to him
"Try not to do anything too stupid" Lila chuckled at Five's comment
Lila started to walk away but Diego grabbed and tugged at the sleeve of her arm
"Trying to ditch me again?" Diego whispered
"What are you talking about?" Lila looked at him then she looked at Five's direction, who was creeping upstairs.
"Last night, Hey," Diego tilted her chin to look at him
"Where'd you go?" Diego asked
"You really want to do this now?" Lila sends him a questioning look
"Really" Diego responded
"Fine. I went to the pharmacy to buy gauze for your disgusting stab wound. Is that allowed, or?" Lila cocked an eyebrow
"As a matter a fact, you owe me a $1.89" Lila leans in "Well you would if i actually payed for it."
Lila then looked at the direction where the mariachi band music was playing
"They're playing our song" Lila pulls Diego by his tie, leading him to the dance floor
They began to dance, very closely. The mariachi band playing music in the background
"Someone's got moves" Lila teased
"My father insisted on Ballroom lessons."
"One never knows when the paso doble will be the difference between life and death..." Diego mimics Reginald
"...Children." Diego dips Lila
"My mom used to say something along those lines. Switch." Lila sweeps fallen hair out of Diego's face.
"What are you doing?" Lila's hand trails down Diego's body
"Just follow my lead"
Diego scoffs " Uh, honey, no. I'm the man here."
Lila shushes Diego and they continued to dance
They hold each other closely, smiling and laughing
Then something caught Diego's eye and he freezes
Lila watches him, then looked at the direction he was staring at.
"Well, you are easily distracted." Lila commented
They stop dancing, and Diego focused on the woman who was a far
"It can't be..." He mutters to himself and he walks off at her direction.
Diego walks to the woman, who was talking to another person
"Alright, well bye now." The other person said
And the woman turned to Diego, confirming his beliefs
It was (Y/N)! She didn't lie to him! She was actually telling him the truth!
"(Y/N)..." Diego mumbles to himself, still not believing that you're here. That what you said was true.
And he hurt you by not believing you.
You were wearing a simple (F/C) dress that hugged your curves perfectly.
"You always loved (F/C)' Diego remembered
"Yes? How do you know my name?" (Y/N) furrows her eyebrows
"You're real..." Diego said, well, it was more to himself but (Y/N) heard it
"Yes, i'm real. How can i not be?"
"You were telling the truth. You are immortal..." Diego looked at you
(Y/N) laughs nervously and pull him aside
"How do you know that? Who are you? Do i know you?" (Y/N) starts bombarding him with questions.
"I know you, (Y/N) (L/N)." Diego whispers
"What does that mean? How do you know my name?" (Y/N) looked at him almost fearfully
"I know a lot more than that." Diego leans in
"I know that you were born on (B/D), 1933. I know that you are immortal, i know that you stopped aging at 27 years old, and i know that you discovered your powers when you were six after you drowned in a lake but somehow came back alive."
(Y/N)'s eyes widen and then they narrowed, looking at him suspiciously
"Alright, who sent you? Are you FBI? CIA?"
"I know you in 2019. Believe it or not, i was your boyfriend"
"2019? Boyfriend? Are you sure you're not a stalker?"
"I'm not a stalker-"
"Then prove it. Prove that you're not a stalker."
"When we were dating, we used to spend time in the park, and you would quote your father who quoted F. Scott Fitzgerald saying 'I was within and without. Simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life'"

Y/N's POV
Okay that's...how can he know that?
I've only said that twice in my life time.
I once said it along with my father, and once...with my first love...Steve.
If he was a stalker, he wouldn't have known that.
I only bring up my family, let alone quote my father to the people i truly care about.
"Alright...i believe you."

Narrative POV
Diego's face morphed into shock
You believed him?
But when you had told him the truth, Diego didn't believe you
He felt incredibly guilty for what he done
"You do?" Diego asked with a bewildered expression
"I do...it's still pretty hard to believe but...i do." You sent him a sweet smile
"By the way, what's your name?" (Y/N) asked
"It's Diego, Diego Hargreeves"
"Wait, Hargreeves? Isn't that-"
You heard someone call for you
"I have to go, but hopefully i'll see you soon?" You smiled apologetically
"Yeah. See you soon..." Diego watched as you leave him
Then, he heard loud thumps upstairs, then he ran upstairs
When he got upstairs, he saw his brother getting attacked by a man
"Five..." He went to help him but was stopped when a rope was tied around his neck, choking him.
He saw another man wearing brass knuckles and he then punched Diego's stomach and then his jaw
He then shoved the blonde man that was punching him to the wall and he fell
He threw a knife at the man that he shoved, but missed
He then was pulled back by the rope around his neck and the blonde man punched him again
Lila came upstairs and saw Diego getting attacked.
She went to help him, but paused
Then she turned to Five, seeing him getting beaten up.
"Lila! Help...Me!" Diego called out and her head snapped at his voice
"Lila...! Help..." Diego's voice was muffled in her head
And the handlers voice echoed through her mind :
'Protect Number Five at all cost'
She took on last glance at Diego before she turned to Five and grabbed his knife
She ran to him and kicked off her heels
Getting up on the table beside her and swinging on the chandelier, strangling the man who attacked Five with her thighs while holding on to the chandelier
You heard the commotion upstairs, so you decided to take a look.
When you got upstairs, you looked to her left and saw Diego getting beaten ruthlessly by two men
You screamed Diego's name before kicking off her heels and helping him, reaching for the knife that was strapped under your dress on your thigh
You grabbed the talon knife in her hands and gripped it tightly
You let out a battle cry and charged at the man that was punching Diego, slicing his back
That seemed to earn his attention.
The blonde man tried to punch you, but you dodged, slicing his cheek and kicking him back and he stumbled
You drop your knife, gripped his back and ran him trough the window, breaking it.
The man punched you in the jaw, making you look to the left. When you re-directed your head, you looked at the man with a death glare.
He tried punching you but you caught his hand turning it and kicking him in the stomach
You roundhouse kicked his head and jumped up , bringing your hands together, and smashed his head with your fists.
When you looked back, you saw Diego looking at in awe, the other man already unconscious.
He walked to you, leaing down, grabbing your talon knife and handed it to you
You smiled weakly at him, grabbing the knife from his handand strapling it to your thigh once more.
Diego looked out the window to see Reginald
"Dad..." He mumbled before grabbing your hand and leading you downstairs in a hurry
You and Diego caught up with Five and Lila
"Is that him?" Diego asked Five
They watched as the car drove off
