Dhriti's pov.
It's been 3 yrs dii got married. From then i am alone here in this huge house. Many people are physically present here but no one cares. Now this house looks more hell hole . I feel lonely here. My routine in this house is same. I wake up , go to college , come back in evening , prepare dinner , clean up kitchen after my dinner , talk to dii and jiju and then sleep.
The only thing that has changed is that i have started earning some money. Earlier dii used to earn by teaching and give me some money for stationary and other expenses. Even after marriage she used to send me some money as she herself has got a job there. But after months i stopped her from sending money as it felt wrong to me. She stopped doing so after my several requests but still every now and then she keeps asking whether i need some money or other stuff.
I wanted to earn and pay for my own expenses myself. I thought to give tuition classes or teach at some tuition centre. I contacted such centres which were near college but there was no vacancy. I tried searching part time jobs but didn't find any suitable according to my timings. At last one of my teacher who was a bit aware about my family conditions suggested me to earn with the help of my talent. I was very good at craft and designing work. She suggested me to start online page , take orders there online for customized and hand made gift items. I started online page named "Dhri Creations" with her help and it really helped me a lot with my expenses.
Right now it helps me to earn approx 5000-6000 per month.
In the family everything is similar. Everyone is busy with their own stuff. Nobody likes to talk to me. They are not aware about what is going in my life. I am still that Unwanted burden in their life.
In college everything became same the next day after that proposal incident. The next after that incident Manan apologized to me and said ,
" I am sorry Dhriti... I yesterday went over the board. I didn't know happened to me.. i was not going to force you.. i just expressed my feelings.. i am ready to wait for you as long as you want even if it is lifetime.. My love for you will remain same.. and above all you are my best friend..
I guarantee you this will not effect our friendship.. please forgive me..."
I forgave him and since then everything became normal in our college. Thinking about incident I realized two things that firstly it was not his mistake thats the reason i forgave him instantly when he apologized... And second thing that he genuinely loves me. If he was another random guy he could have forced me, taken revenge from me for that insult in campus. But no he is still waiting for me and following our friendship sincerely. I am starting to love this guy. Every girl is dying to be with him but he still waiting for the fatso like me. He is really sweet and caring.
Present day
Like any other day i just reached my society after a tiring day in college. Today i have a lot to do after home. I think i am to going spend another sleepless night. This is our final year and exams are going to start after 2 months. I have to maintain my grade and get university rank in order to get selected in top architectural firm.
Also today i have got 3 orders for customized box which i have to complete in 2-3 days.
Today i am already late than my usual time. Mostly i am home by 6 pm. Today its 7 pm already. I hope no one notices me coming late. I opened door and tip toed to hall. When i reached hall there were some unknown faces sitting with my family. They looked at me with confusion written over their face. I also returned the same. Bade papa(uncle) looked at me with disappointment on his face. Badi maa(aunt) shared a look with him and gestured something to my mother. I was still looking at those unknown face trying to find out who can they be. There was an old man and lady almost of my bade papa and badi maa's age. There also were 2 boys and a girl sitting next to them. The girl was looking of almost swati dii's age where as one boy was looking of my age and the other one was looking elder than Rakshit bhaiya.
My mom came to me and took me to kitchen. She asked me to go to my room and stay there till the guests go.
When i asked about preparing dinner, she said that there is no need to that as everything is done. I don't know who these people are but they seem important as never in my life ever my family have send me or swati dii away due to some guest or asked us not to come in front of them. I just shrugged and came to my room. I freshened up and sat on the bed thinking about these "important guests" . I thought to go back downstairs and check what is going on through kitchen. I emptied the bottle of my room and took it along with me as in case i get caught this can be used as excuse 😜.
I went to kitchen and started peeking from window. Their conversations can be heard from kitchen window.
That old man in the hall spoke-
"Who was that girl. As far as i know you have one daughter and she is married right"
My bade papa replied-
"Yaa my daughter is married already..
She is ..."
Papa cutted him and said-
"She is my daughter , Dhriti"
Listening this from papa automatically brought a smile on my lips. I was waiting since long to hear this line from him.
That man spoke again-
" Your daughter is not here? Its his brother's marriage.. she should have been here.. its her right to know about his brother's fiance "
What?? Brother's fiance?? Who is getting married here? Rakshit bhaiya?? Our brother is getting married and we are not aware..
I was too shocked to react..
Our family think us this much unwanted that they didn't find it necessary to tell us about our brother's marriage. Leave about family not even Rakshit bhaiya told us... He doesn't talk to us but he never ignores us, he could have told us....
Bade papa spoke replying him-
"Woh actually she wanted to come but was little busy"
I was shocked to see how easily he lied about situation. I am damn sure even dii is not aware about it..
But my main question is how can they hid such an important thing from us??
My mind said mocking me "Dhriti in your entire life have they ever valued you.. what do you think they will come running to tell you 'oh my dear! your brother is getting married' and about your dear rakshit bhaiya dont forget he is their son"
My heart spoke battling against my mind "Dhri dont worry, look it might be possible that even Rakshit is not aware about marriage.. it will be an arrange marriage.. maybe it took him by surprise too"
That man spoke-
"Ohh okay.. we will meet her next time.. Talking about these two i think both Rakshit and Soumya would have known each really well as being in relationship for 5 years is a long time to know someone"
Bade papa replied smiling-
"Not only Rakshit and Soumya.. even our family and soumya know each other really well as we have met a number of times.. we accept her"
Oh so her name is Soumya. And they both were in relationship since 5 yrs.
My mind said mocking me and my heart-
"See i told you na he is their son only"
I was still processing whatever was going on in my mind when the next thing they said made me numb and the bottle fell from my hand.
Soumya's father- "finally their relation is fixed... I am very happy.. its time to celebrate... By the way where is your another daughter dhriti ?"
My father replied - "oh woh actually she is mentally unstable sometimes.. so we always keep her away from such gatherings.... Its better for her to stay alone........ "
I was not able to listen anything further as my mind and heart both became numb. How easily my father has explained me in the front of everyone... (I spoke to myself with a sarcastic smile)... I gathered myself and ran to my room with a same tag of UNWANTED.....

Next chapter-
A girl is seen laying unconscious on the corner of the room with torn sleeves and wounds all over her face and arms. Blood oozing out of her wounds..
The door opens and a man comes with drink in his hand.
He smirked looking at her unconscious body and called someone-
"Baby... Mission accomplished"
