"Holy shit I totally forgot!! I was supposed to meet my darling Ella at Hard Rock Café 30 mins ago!!! Shit! shit!!! shit!!!!!! "
I mentally yell and scolded myself. It wasn't just your regular day of taking good care of Ella by taking her to a cafe it was THE day. Valentines day and I really wanted to show her she meant the world to me, ever since the day I laid eyes on her I wanted her to be mine and mine only. I wanted to ask her out on this very day because I knew how special this day is to her. Its not just a Valentines day celebration, today is also the day she finally turns a year older and I wanted it to also be the day I ask her to be my girlfriend.
But I couldn't do that I was too far away from Hard Rock Café where we agreed to meet. If not because i was too young to drive i probably would have hopped into a car by now and gone all fast and furious all the way down there.
"C'mon Denis Ella is probably boiling in anger thinking I bailed on her, on her special day. Very very special I might add. "
My elder brother Denis and I were somewhere in shomolu on the main land shooting a movie adapted by Felicia Onyewadume the echo's of hard time. we've been working non stop moving from set to set as we kept shooting different scenes from the book. my brother and I were one of the main characters in the movie Soo I was fully occupied, but I couldn't forget my sweethearts birthday and I kinda wished I didn't have to act so I could be with her, but my dad wouldn't have any of it.
Even though it seemed like I forgot I didn't and soo earlier that day I had sent her message saying
"Hey babe I hope you are having a pretty fabulous day. Any way I just want you to know that... Its not our conversation That keeps me entertained But rather the way you look at me That makes me feel sustained... which brings me to ask, are you a magician? Because whenever I look at you, everyone else disappears! 😊😍😊

Immediately I sent her the message on WhatsApp from my Android phone she responded with a smiling emoji. I was going to respond back but I didn't get the chance because my dad needed me to act out some scene for the movie and that was how i was occupied for the whole day. Once the sun began to set I began to panic hoping we would finish before 7 and I'll still have enough time to freshen up before meeting with my one and only Ella.
We didn't finish from the set until 7:30pm, and I was too engrossed in the movie we were making to check my message or even send any to let her know I'd be running late. I was soo furious and agitated as I yelled at my brother to driver faster as we were literally on top speed racing to the island. I silently prayed she was still there before I yelled at my brother
"Can't you drive any faster!! "
"I'm trying Kelvin, okay! "
He responded as we were now on third mainland bridge still driving as fast as we could. I whipped out my phone still feeling agitated and i tried to call her hoping to calm my racing heart down but it didn't work . the line kept saying it wasn't going through , I kept on trying until it said the number was switched off. Now I was scared and frustrated its was either she switched off her phone or network was playing tricks on me and now wasn't the time.
" what's wrong bro she ain't picking up"
"What sort of stupid question is that, will I look this frustrated if she did"
"Hey don't you dare try to insult me young man . I am your older brother soo you better respect that"
"Why should I, this has nothing to do with respect here. You asked a stupid question and I gave a stupid answer! "
" oh oh really? now you are just being down right sarcastic!. "
" well you brought this on yourself man , you see how worried and frustrated I look yet your still asking a question with an obvious answer! "
"Oh my, so now its my fault for being so worried and asking questions! "
it was just a mater of milliseconds we heard a loud horn signalling there was an incoming lorry. Unfortunately we couldn't stop in time to avoid The Clash. that was how everything went boom in my ears the last thing I head was someone yelling that our car was on fire and we were trapped in there. How we survived the crash I don't know but the next time I opened my eyes I was in the hospital room with no memories of what happened last
....
I opened my eyes 5 seconds later and sat up straight immediately panting and hyperventilating trying to steady my breathing as my heart was racing.
But I heard her voice, I heard her sweet angelic voice still calling out to me I couldn't help it as a stray tear escaped my eyes. I thought I'd never see her again, I thought I never hear sweet voice again but here I was hearing it and I scanned the room to look for the source only to find her sitting right next to me in hospital bed. She looks more beautiful than the last time I remembered how time flies I gave her a weak smile before calling out her name testing it to see how it rolls of my tongue again, even though my voice sounded raspy and different I didn't care I just kept calling her Ella.
I wrapped my arms loosely round her burning my face into the crock of her neck. Her smell had visible effect on me, calming my racing heart immediately. She smelled like coconut and warm chocolate and I sighed in satisfaction before saying
"Pls don't leave me again, I'd do any thing to make you stay, pls Ella. "
"Of cus Kelvin I'm not leaving you, not now not ever "
She reassured me hugging me tight but not too tight so that she wasn't choking me. I smiled, after a while we pulling away but I was still holding tight to her so she laid there with me on the hospital's bed. We decided to finally talk about what happened 4 years ago since I have my memories back. But i started by saying
"I've really missed you Ella"
"I've missed you too Kelvin"
"I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise of meeting you, and giving you the best Valentines day /birthday gift at Hard Rock Café, 4 years ago. "
"gasp Awwwn you remembered!? "
"I didn't but your presence here today brought it all back. "
"Sniffs a tear O.M. G what? What happened that day? "
"Well were supposed to meet there but my brother and I were involved in a car crash. it was either we weren't paying attention to the road due to our argument or it was a set up. Hopefully its the former, it took a while before we were rescued and hospitalized in the best hospital in Lagos. the treatment me and my brother were receiving wasn't working and soo we had to change hospital, we flew all over to Chicago for proper treatment that's where I got better but not with out me and my brother spending 3 months in coma. By time we woke up I had absolutely no memory of what happened that year. my phone got spoilt in the crash and that's how I lost your number. "
"Wow I am sooo sorry Kelvin, I have no idea. I thought it was a prank or you bailed on me on our very first date... My mom went with me that day, we waited for you at the cafe but nothing. She was the one that eventually took me home when we didn't see or hear from you "
"I am soo sorry I made you feel like that, you know I would never hurt you on purpose. I actually tried calling but it wasn't going through. "
" I know I'm sorry I didn't believe you when you said you didn't remember. Or when my mom told me about your accident. I was just Soo blinded by anger. "
" its alright, I'm just glad I'm back in your arms, where I truly belong Ella"
We smiled at each others contented that we were able to solve our different and what happened 4 years ago. Before i could help it sleep had slowly lured me away from my darling my hold around her began to loosen. I fell into a deep slumber knowing that all was well and Ella my one and only was right here with me. I smiled in my sleep as i felt her small heart shaped lips peck me on the nose.

Finally right? we all know what happened 4 years ago and now we know why Kelvin was acting the way he acted and so did Emma.
Any way I hope you all enjoyed this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it Because it was quit something to put down.
