"Mafu?"
"Yes?"
"Aren't you being... uh... too close?"
"You think so?"
You sighed as you slightly push his face away.
You just woke up and the first thing that you saw was, of course, your lover's face which is just a few centimeters away from yours.
"Can you move a little bit? I'm on the edge of the bed already, in case you didn't know."
"No!" He swung his arm and leg on you as he spat that forceful word.
"What the—?! Mafu!"
"Can we stay like this for a bit? Please~?" he asked, nuzzling his cheek against yours.
You rolled your eyes at him before answering, "Fine..."

"Seriously, Mafu, do you even know what 'personal space' is?" You stopped stirring the food you were cooking because Mafumafu suddenly went up to you and wrapped his arms around your waist.
"Yeah. What about it?" he simply asked, not minding the annoyance laced on your tone.
"Oh, nothing much. Just to let you know that I need it at the moment." You tried shaking him off but to no avail.
You just let him do what he wants. He still has his hug on you after you finished cooking.
When it's time to eat, he pulled a chair beside you and sat on it instead of occupying the seat across yours.
He's been like that for weeks. And you barely can think of any reason why he'd become like that.
Later that night, when Mafumafu finally fell into his deep slumber, you squirmed out from his hug. You did your best to not wake him up, in which you succeeded.
You went to the bathroom after grabbing your phone from the bedside table.
Scrolling through the contacts, your thumb stopped at a certain number and pressed it.
After a few rings, he answered.
["Hello...~?"] Soraru greeted in his normal, sleepy voice.
"Hello, Soraru-san?"
["Ah, (Y/n). Do you need anything?"] His words were followed with a soft yawn.
"Can we meet tomorrow? I have some things to ask you," you said in the most silent way you can, avoiding making any loud sounds that can wake the albino up.
["Hmm? Uh, sure. What is it all about, if I may ask?"]
You took a deep sigh before answering, "It's about Mafu."
["Tell me the details tomorrow."] You can clearly imagine him pinching the bridge of his nose. He's always like that if you're saying things about your boyfriend. ["Anyway, you should sleep now, (Y/n). It's already past midnight."]
"Mm~ Thank you, Soraru-san. Good night."

"Mafu, I won't be out for long. Please let me go now."
You stared at the albino who was on the floor. He has his death hug on your waist.
"Let me come with you, (Y/n)~!" he whined. "I don't want to be alone here!"
You groaned. "You have Potato and Iroha here with you, Mafu. You're not alone."
"But still—"
"I'll buy you anything you want!"
He froze in his place. He slowly lifted his head as he shoot you a very cute stare before his lips curve upward to form a very bright smile.

"I'm sorry for being late, Soraru-san!" You bowed your head before sitting on the chair across his. "I had a hard time dealing with Mafu." You let out a nervous chuckle
"So, what is it that you would like to ask?" He sat upright, readying himself to listen to you.
"Is Mafu being clingy normal?"
He crossed his arms on his chest and laid his back on the chair before answering, "Well, you're his first girlfriend."
"I know that. But isn't he being too... you know. I also need my personal space."
He chuckled. "I think that's his way of protecting you."
"'Protecting' me?" You raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"It's his way to protect you. Like what I've said, you're his very first girlfriend. He wouldn't want to lose you, would he?"
You fell silent upon hearing his words.
"He loves you that much that he can't afford to lose you." Soraru smiled warmly at you.
You slightly bowed your head. "I-I need to go now. Thank you for your time, Soraru-san."
"Anytime, (Y/n)." He waved his hand at you.
You nodded your head and smiled at him. "Thank you so much, Soraru-san."
At that moment, your mind is occupied with Mafumafu and him only.
You finally understood why he was like that, and you truly appreciate it.
'Never mind personal space if it's with Mafu.'
As soon as you got home, you saw him playing with his cats.
His eyes landed on you, then he greeted you with his sweetest smile plastered on his face. "Ah, welcome back, (Y/n)! How wa—?"
He was caught off guard when you suddenly ran up to him and hugged him.
"(Y-Y/n)? Are you alright?" Worry is laced in his tone of speaking. He slowly and gently wrapped his arms around you and rubbed circles on your back, fearing that something happened.
"Let's stay like this for a while..." you trailed off.
You heard him let out a very soft chuckle as he caress your hair and nuzzled closer to you.
"Anything for you, (Y/n)."
He didn't mind. In fact, he likes it— you initiating the cuddles, he actually loves it.
And you, you're starting to love it.
"I don't mind if my personal space is taken away, as long as it's you," you mumbled as you hug him tighter.
A moment of silence flew, but was interrupted when Mafumafu spoke, "Oh, (Y/n)."
"Yes?"
"Did you buy me the things that I asked you?"
"... Oh, crap..."
