Chapter 32:
After School, me, Gia, Harley and her crew Linda and Mads headed to the mall.
Melissa: I'm so scared, I haven't dance in public in forever, what if I screw up
Harley: you'll do fine, instead of using your brain when you dance, follow your heart
Melissa: what if this doesn't work?
Harley: then I guess will find you a better manager in La when you get their
Melissa: okay
Gia: I just realize something, how are you gonna get their without your parents wondering where you are?
Melissa: easy, I'll tell my dad I'm staying over your place
Gia: oh he trust me now?
Melissa: not really, but he heard about your progress lately in school, that your trust for him is starting to build up
Gia: at least I'm earning someone trust
Harley: my dad still being judgmental, it took him a long time for him to finally put Gia in her place, and when your dad does, it put him on edge a bit and he feels like he's failed as a principal
Gia: I don't think he failed, I mean I guess I should have tried harder in school, but nobody has ever really cared about me until you guys came into the picture. I didn't know what it was like to be loved until I meant you guys
Harley/Melissa: awww
Harley and I hugged her and she tried to push us off her.
Gia: girls, I do not like being touched
Harley: shut up Gia and enjoy it
Melissa: okay, let's get this show on the road
Melissa her friends walked in the mall and found the best spot, her friend started filming as she played the music and started dancing. As she started dancing a crowd start forming and everyone watch her performance and was amazed.
After the performance, everyone clapped for me and I was surprised and thank them and Harley came up to Mel and said.
Harley: uh... Mel we have a problem
Melissa: what's wrong?
Harley pointed over to the paparazzi who was filming the whole thing and Melissa.
Melissa: we gotta go... sorry ya'll!
The girls started making a run for it and everyone looked confused and noticed the paparazzi started following them.
Melissa: *goes around the corner out of breath* shit! Shit! Shit! I forgot about the dang paparazzi
Harley: uh... Mel, less talking and more hustling
Melissa: right...
The girls and I ran to Gia's car and Gia droves off fast before they we got sworn with paps (a/n: she's two years older than the girls, but got left back in school twice so she's in the same grade as them.)
Melissa: damn sometimes I forgot that I'm famous already because of my brothers. If that video gets out by the paparazzi who knows what story they will pull out
Harley: yeah they might think your parents kicked you out and you're hustling for some money on the streets
Melissa: that would be even worst! My dad could get in huge trouble with the adoption agency, I'm still a minor after all
Harley: Mel, you need to talk to your dad before the story comes out
Melissa: I can't, then he will know I was trying to get a manager behind his back!
Harley: well would you rather your brothers and dad reputation get destroyed then worrying about your butt being on the line for this?
Melissa: *bites bottom lip* okay... maybe I was being a little selfish... well I guess I have to cancel on Ryan tell him that Dadager said no
Gia: I got an idea, that way nobody gets in trouble for this. Harley, you still have the video right?
Harley: yeah?
Gia: post it on Mel's social media before paparazzi does, that way they won't be able to come out with the most ridiculous story and Mel won't get in trouble
Melissa: Gia! You're a genius!
Harley: and the paparazzi won't post it because they won't be making money of it knowing the real story is already out in the public. That's very smart thinking Gia
Gia: I know
Melissa and Harley quickly edited the video with some effects before quickly adding it on Melissa's Instagram and twitter account with caption "are their any agents looking for a dancer, here's your gal" but it was meant for a sarcastic way so her brothers wouldn't suspect it.
Melissa reaches home, she said bye to the girls and Melissa walked into her home and said.
Melissa: I'm home! Oh...
I said surprised when I saw my parents, Nick and Joe sitting on the coach.
Mom: oh honey, thank goodness you're home safe *gets up hugs me*
Melissa: yeah, of course I'm safe, what's the matter?
Nick motioned me to come over and show the twitter article on TMZ.
Melissa: oh, and hi Kevin
Kevin: hi Mel
Kevin was on the screen on Nick's Mac laptop.
Melissa: before you guys jump to conclusion, please look at my social media. I posted it before they did
Joe: we already saw, we get notifications from when you post on your account
Dad: speaking of that, what's with the caption
Melissa: what caption....
Dad: *gives me look* don't act clueless little girl, you know exactly what I'm talking about
Melissa: *squirms under his gaze* I was being sarcastic daddy really
Dad: that's 1 lie, wanna go for 2 to see where that will lead you too
Melissa: *gulps* daddy, I don't think that's fair...
Dad: I know what you were doing Mel, you were trying to get a agent behind my back so you can run off to LA without me. Your plan wouldn't work anyways since you're still a minor traveling by yourself
Melissa: this is unfair! I can't do anything because I'm a minor! Miley got to do whatever she wants when she was my age! So did the boys! Why can't I have that life?
Nick: Miley also never had a childhood like you did, none of us did, we did for a while until we gotten popular. Of course we were living the dream but we also wanted a normal life
Joe: do you like fans and paparazzi following you?
Melissa: no, but that's not my fault, it's yours because people know about me now. I'm already a target because dad announced me to the world when I was 10. I still don't have a normal life no matter how much you guys tell me I do
Dad: I should have never done it
Melissa: you had to dad, people were assuming who I was in all the Jonas videos and that you cheated on Mama J. You had to come out with your story, so it doesn't make the whole family look bad.
Dad: you really want to do this huh?
Melissa: more than anything! I know it will cut me off from my real social life with my school and friends
Dad: oh little girl, you're still doing school. I'm not letting this thing effect your education
Melissa: yes sir
Dad: but if this really what you want, I won't stop you
Melissa: *squeals* thank you daddy! *hugs him*
Joe: although Nick and I don't approve of this reality show, will support you on this
Melissa: *smiles* thanks Joey *hugs him*
Nick: don't forget me
I rolled my eyes but hugged Nick and Kevin said from the screen.
Kevin: hey... I was the one that convinced dad to let you do this while the others were against it
Melissa: air hug?
Kevin and I air hug and I blew him a kiss on the screen and he caught it and put it to his cheek making me giggle.
I went to mom and sat on her lap and put my arm around her and she did the same and she said.
Mom: I'm standing behind you no matter what baby girl
Melissa: thanks mom, I love you
Mom: I love you too *kiss top of forehead*
I was really happy my family was doing this for me. They're really the greatest!
Nick and Joe took me to Ryan's studio that Saturday. Ryan went over everything and I was so nervous, and it maybe question if I still want to do this.
Melissa: I won't have any privacy?
Ryan: you'll have privacy of course,
Melissa: no offense Ryan, but I'm a teenage girl who probably would hate having cameras in her face 24/7. I thought this was just gonna be a filming thing like in a tv show
Joe: we told you it isn't like that kiddo
Melissa: yeah but ya'll didn't mention I have to have cameras on me 24/7!
Ryan: you'll never know when something interesting from the show might happened
Melissa: Listen Ryan, Thank you so much for this opportunity and all, but I think I'm gonna have to decline it
Ryan: why?
Melissa: my dad was right, I should have a childhood as long as possible
Ryan: if that's what you want, I totally understand your decision
Melissa: thanks Ryan, come on boys. It's been a long day and I'm starving
Joe: meet us by the car
Melissa: okay
I left the boys alone with Ryan in his studio.
With Nick and Joe.
Once they heard the door closed Joe shook hands with Ryan.
Joe: thanks Ryan, for doing that
Ryan: no problem boys. When you two called me and told me what was going on, I wouldn't want to I disrespect your dad wishes for your sister
Nick: thank you anyways
Ryan: no problem
The boys left Ryan's studio and went to head outside but jumped surprised when they saw Melissa was standing outside the door with her arm crossed.
Melissa: so you boys tricked me so I wouldn't do the show huh
Nick/Joe: whhhhhattttt.... noooooo
Melissa: *gives them look*
Nick: are you mad?
Melissa: *sighs* no, I guess you boys were only trying to look out for me, so I guess it's okay. But you two do this again, and I will never forgive you, who wants sushi?
Joe: ooo! I do! Let's go!
Melissa: race you boys to the car!
Joe: your on! Hey your cheating! *runs after her*
Nick: I live with idiots *goes after them*
