Chapter 3

Tasha’s PoV

Entering the all too familiar pack house gave me the shivers, I had changed away from everybody else’s view, knowing full well that I had changed a lot from the stick thin and short fourteen year old they once knew. I inhaled the familiar scent, the crisp clean scent a harsh change from the woods I was so used to. The eyes of several shot to me, mostly the eyes of the pack I left, both familiar and way to familiar, but none of them seemed to recognize me, well, besides Blake and Nathaniel, but of course they would recognize, and my parents. Yes, my parent’s eyes went wide and filled with tears, although my father put on a strong face. Nathaniel’s father, his eyes went wide but instead of recognition they were wide with disgust. Disgust that his son was asking a girl for help, a girl younger than his son none-the-less. Whatever, his opinion didn’t matter.

“I am Natasha Blanc-Lupe, Alpha of the Blanc-Lupe pack. Yes I am a White-Wolf, no I do not have a mate, and no, I do not want one. I have no ‘Powers’ to speak of. If you don’t want me here, go howl at some vamp’s ass, I don’t care. Now get this, seventy percent of you are untrained, and the thirty percent that are haven’t a shit assed clue to real technique. This is where my pack comes in. We are the some of the most skilled fighters in North America and we are NOT here to save your weak furry asses from the hybrids when they come! We are here to teach you how to fight them yourselves! Oh, and yes I am Blake’s sister, perhaps you remember me.” I ended my speech in the middle of the room with all eyes trained on me.

Slowly, a hand was raised, the culprit a young boy about the age of twelve, likely just changed by the look of him.

“Yes?” I looked at him, slightly confused, why would he raise his hand? Was I that scary?

“Miss, I remember you, you were always really nice to me, but when will we start training?” He said, his eyes wide and bright.

“Tomorrow, six a.m sharp. And please, my name is Natasha, or Natty, or Atty, or Tasha or Tash. Anything but Miss.” I spoke quickly, kneeling in front of the boy and whispering the last part, a smile gracing my lips. He grinned back at me and nodded.

“Hi Natty-Atty! My name is William but everybody calls me Willie!” His soft voice happy and cheerful and I couldn’t help but grin, exposing my teeth fully and feeling my eyes crinkle as a light laughter escaped my lips.

“Alright Willie. Now, Blanc-Lupe pack, and anybody else that wants to train, let go train a bit.” I said, standing up and facing my pack who were all leaning on the wall, not really a part of this meeting thing. They had already introduced themselves to the pack.

“Sorry, Batty-Atty, but why the hell would anybody want to train with you?” A petite red head with a short bob hair cut. Poppy, of course, her silky voice ringing harsh in my ears.

“Well Poppy, that isn’t your problem but I completely understand why you wouldn’t want to train with me, you couldn’t last a second against me.” I grinned, trying not to laugh when her face turned as red as her hair and her eyes changed from a pearly green to a swirly gold. Crap! Shit, shit shit.

“Poppy, calm down. Poppy, you can’t shift in here.” I tried to say in a soothing voice, I wasn’t exactly sure how to deal with wolve’s who weren’t in one hundred percent control.

“Poppy! Outside. Now.” My instinct reaction was to cower upon hearing my rightful Alpha’s voice but at the same time my hackles rose at another Alpha voice commanding the person I was speaking to. It was Nathaniel.

Nathaniel, I just now noticed him in his human form. He was tall, really tall. Six foot, at least, probably six foot three or maybe six four. His shoulders were broad and in his black muscle shirt showed off his extremely toned torso nicely. His jaw wasn’t narrow any more but strong and defined and his lips looked soft and sculpted.

WAIT! What the bloody hell?! I snapped out of my extremely weird thoughts to see Poppy turning around and leaving the room. Thank god for my were-wolf ability to think extremely fast, although most wolves only experienced it while in wolf form. Warriors had it in human form but only when they felt a fight coming on. I never thought that fast before, weird.

“Alright, now, who else wants to start talking like that to Natasha?” His voice rang out in a slight growl, a cold look in his eyes. Uh, what?

“Alpha Crest, sorry to butt in but I am going to take my pack and go train now. I suggest you and the fighters in your pack join us.” I said, using a strong Alpha tone although not a commanding one. His eyes were trained on me, a funny look in his eyes, a second later he nodded.

“I agree, although it is an option I strongly suggest we join her boys.” He said, turning to a group of muscular guys about my, our, age, although all tall and rather beautiful none quite reached Nathaniel’s level. Wait, what the hell? Nathaniel wasn’t hot, or beautiful, or anything. Weird. I shook my head and turned on my heel, my pack following me out and toward the field behind the pack house. The sun was high in the sky and the grass and trees were all bright, lush green. It was a very poetically pretty sight.

“Alright, everybody make a circle, don’t change yet.” I commanded loudly, of course Nathaniel being an Alpha, just walked up and stood beside me, about six inches from me. Yes, I always knew how far somebody was from me, it was an Alpha thing, I think. He looked at me in a sideways glance, a single thick and sculpted dark eyebrow quirked quizzically. I gritted my teeth as thoughts of how he bullied me before forced their way into my mind.

“Alright, my theory is that you are only as strong in wolf form as you are in human form! Therefore sixty percent of this training WILL be in human form! We will also be going on a ten mile run every morning, again in human form! Can’t handle it? GET LOST! Otherwise, welcome to the Blanc-Lupe training camp!” I spoke loudly while addressing the small group of Crest guys along with my Blanc-Lupes. Of course this training wouldn’t be a big deal for them.

“Also, incase my Blanc-Lupes were wondering, yes the training will be turned down for today and tomorrow and depending on how pathetic these so called fighters are.” I spoke this time with an annoyed tone to my pack, all shocked at my sudden outburst. Well I didn’t usually snap.

“Hey! Bitch! All this fuck your talking, is it just because you flight instead of fight? That you’re the weakest White-Wolf ever? Besides, you’re a fucking GIRL, and half your pack are girls, you really expect us to take this shit seriously when we are supposedly being ‘trained’ by an exiled whore?” a guy with sandy blond-brown hair and green-blue eyes snarled at me. I saw my entire pack’s eyes flare and their muscles twitch as the leaned forward. Yikes, I had never seen them this mad. Then I saw somebody’s tall frame step in front up me, their muscles twitching under their dark muscle shirt, a growl escaping their lips. Nathaniel. What the hell was he doing? I let out a harsh, inhuman growl and pushed him to the side, stepping up.

“Look, I don’t know who the hell you are but I will give you one hundred dollars if you can beat me in a fight. If you want you can even go into wolf form and I will stay human.” I said, slowly walking towards him with a grin. He laughed, he actually laughed.

“Hun, please, I don’t want to hurt a girl, but, I will fight you, however you want.” He grinned, stepping forward so were now only inches apart. It was my turn to laugh, I spun around and stalked to the center of the field before turning back around to come again face to face with the tall blonde’s chest. I looked up, his green-blue eyes crinkled as he grinned before taking a step back and shifting. His wolf was a lanky, agile looking sandy red wolf. I let out a cackling laugh, throwing my head to the sky and laughing hysterically at the clouds in pure mirth. Was it fat headed to find it so funny that I would beat his furry ass? I guess he thought I wasn’t paying attention because he lunged, snapping at my legs. Lucky for me I sprung out of the way, literally, as I did a double backflip and landed behind him before he could even turn around. I grabbed ahold of his tail and yanked, pulling his feet from under him and his muzzle made a thunk against the lush grass. I heard cheers and I heard laughs, but mostly? I heard a lot of gasps.

The guy jumped up and spun around and lunged, at my face this time, all in one swift movement. My hand flew up and wrapped around his muzzle, snapping it closed I let my claws grow out and dig into his skin. I threw him to the ground and straddled him onto his back.

Now everything was silent, backflips  and tail pulls were something most wolves could do with just a little training, grabbling a werewolf’s jaw and holding it down wasn’t, but mostly it was the fact that I now had the claws of a wolf growing out of my nails. What can I say, I was a White-She-Wolf, when I did something I made sure to excel at it.

I felt movement under my hand and when I looked down, back at my could be prey I saw the guy, human, with a grin on his face.

“As embaressing as it is to be walked on by a girl, I rather like this position.” He chuckled cheekily. I growled and leapt off of him.

“There are several other perks to fighting in human form, one of which I just demonstrated.  Maneuverability. On four legs you cannot come from being attacked to jumping well out of attacking range! Yes, you may not have the excess speed, strength and teeth that your wolf has but you are also much for aware, less dominated by the animal.” I said, speaking loudly again.

Nathaniel’s PoV.

I couldn’t help but let out a low growl as I forced the shift not to take effect when she was momentarily straddling Travis’ human form, his eyes glinting in mischief. That fight, her, it was amazing. She was amazing. Beautiful. Sure, Blake and myself were better fighters than Travis but he was definitely no push over. Well, at least I hadn’t thought so before. She was speaking and don’t get me wrong, I loved listening to her strong yet kind voice ring out but I was to busy lost in thought to hear.

Natasha’s PoV

“Now, to show you a real fight, between two wolves this time, Raven and Luna will you please step up? You two know what to do.” I asked, turning to where the tiny native girl and the only slightly taller, yet just as thin, fair blond girl beside her. The two were stark opposites, besides their tiny frame. Where Raven had pin straight short dark hair and nearly black round eyes Luna had long corn silk locks and pale gray eyes, where Luna had a fair, peachy skin tone Raven had smooth dark skin that looked like dark caramel.

The two girls looked at each other and shared a pearly white grin before sauntering forward. I grinned at the expressions of the Crest pack. Slowly a girl raised her hand, the only girl from the Crest pack to join us. I nodded to the chocolate haired girl who had her hair cut into a short curly bob that ended at her chin.

“Natasha? Natasha Selene Lupe? It’s me, Alice. Well, I’m sorry to seem brash but, if you haven’t, like you said, found your mate, nor want to find him, how on earth can you control your change like that? Is it something all wolves can do with the right training? To turn only a part of their body?” The girl, my old friend, Alice Crest asked, stepping forward.

“Honestly Alice, I am not sure. I haven’t actually met another wolf who can but I also haven’t met another Alpha who has trained as much as I have. Nobody in my pack can do it, but as far as I am aware none of them have tried. And yes, Alice Amelia Crest, it is me.” I spoke with a sad smile gracing my lips as I said the last part. She smiled back at me.

“Alice, you should leave. I don’t want you to get hurt. These girls in the Blanc-Lupe Pack have had extensive training, you only ever train with Blake, Travis, Celeste and I.” Nathaniel’s voice rang out again, heavy with concern but no Alpha tone.

“No Nathaniel, I will not leave. Without a mate yourself you need as much fighters as possible. So sorry, brother, but you are not getting rid of me. Under you and Blake I am the highest ranked in the pack now, besides the elders.” Her voice was strong and defiant as she spoke to her alpha. Not many had the guts to do that.

“Alice, if you wouldn’t mind, would you please come here? I could use your help with something.” I grinned, a mischievous tone hinting in my words, I glanced at Nathaniel to see him scowling slightly at me, obviously not used to somebody going against his wishes. The scowl, although not a harsh one sent me back to the times when the scowl on his face was a harsh one, when I looked up at him from a crumpled slump at his feet. The hurt he once caused me came rushing back, the bruises I covered from my parents, the ones my brother didn’t stop from happening, all inflicted by Nathaniel Crest. Maybe my muscles tensed, maybe my memories flashed in my eyes but his look turned blank and cold. Alice grinned and took a step forward, breaking me from my momentary flash.

“What do you need? Alpha Blanc-Lupe?” her voice held a smugness as a grin flicked at her lips.

“Please, Alice, my name is Natasha. So, you can call me Tasha.” I smiled at her before continuing. “I would like you to keep your pack from intervening in the fight. Use force if you want.” Her laughter cackled.

“Tasha, why would you think my pack would intervene?” Nathaniel’s voice cut in. A scowl flicked on my own lips.

“That is Alpha Natasha or Alpha Blanc-Lupe, Alpha Nathaniel.” I hissed at him, spinning on my heel to come face to face with his chest. I looked up and glowered at his towering frame. I might be a lot more commanding if I wasn’t a mere five foot six to his six foot three and face to face with his toned chest. Seriously? Did he have to be so bloody tall?

“Alpha Natasha then. Can I speak with you for a moment?” His voice turned steely and cold, his eyes fixed on mine. I kept my face blank.

“No. I am busy, can you not see?” I hissed at him before stepping back twice and giving the nod to Raven and Luna, they abruptly jumped and turned in midair, effectively separating me from Nathaniel as they fought between us.

Nathaniel’s PoV

Even though she completely ignored my authority I found I didn’t really care. Blake had his eyes trained on her too, but I doubt he was thinking the same thing I was. I was thinking that if only Alice knew who my Mate was. If only my Mate knew who my Mate was. Blake was probably thinking about how proud he was of her, how much he regretted about her leaving. I knew I regretted that day, those two years that we shunned her before, every day I lived I regretted it but now I especially did. If she had been here when I turned seventeen everything would be perfect. We would be mates, she would be my Alpha female and we would both be whole, both have our full power and our wolves. At least I don’t think she had hers because it didn’t look like she had an internal wholeness, but that could be my fault. Not finding your mate when you turned eighteen did wonders, in a bad way, as did being bullied horribly by your entire school let alone your to-be mate and your brother. I could only imagine.

Great, I sounded like a girl. Although, by the looks of the fight between two of the girl’s on her pack I wouldn’t mind all that much being a girl if it meant training with her. Great, now I sounded like a fangirl AND I was talking to myself, well not really but it’s the same thing, just in my head. Maybe that’s worse. Now I’m crazy, this girl is making me crazy. Great, just great.

Narrators PoV

Everybody could feel the tension between the two Alpha’s, probably more so than they felt themselves. Blake stood in the background, his mind riddled with not only seeing his sister, the sister that hated him with good reason, for the first time in three years but also finding his mate in her pack. Only nine girls including Tasha were in the Blanc-Lupe Pack after all, what were the chances? But that wasn’t even the whole of it. His sister, his flesh and bloody didn’t even go by her real name. She wasn’t Natasha Selene Lupe, the girl that was always saw the good in everything any more. Now she was Natasha Selena BLANC-Lupe, a wolf who knew the harsh side of life, a side of life he wished she never had to see. A life he was supposed to protect her from and instead sent her into. Blake Lupe was deep in thought on the sidelines of the tight circle that surrounded his sister.

Meanwhile in the pack house Poppy was deep in thought herself, although, instead of wanting to protect the new She-Wolf Poppy was planning, planning the exact opposite.
