Can no one see these smiles I'm faking?
See how inside, I'm constantly falling apart?
These people all claim they know me
They claim they are my friends
Yet they can't see through my crumbling shell
"I'm fine," I whisper, my sadness unknown
They leave me to deal with this anguish alone
I've hidden behind this wall most of my life
I've managed so far; I've dealt with my strife
But sometimes, it really gets unbeatable
I could do nothing but to watch helplessly
As my life fell into pieces, slowly, right in front of my eyes
But now I wipe my tears away and fake a smile
For approaching footstep I'm on high alert
No one knows of the emptiness, the pain
The grief, the anger and loneliness
That takes total control of me every single day
How the only thing I ever wanted
Was a real friend who cared, and no more fakes
The real me is inside where no one can see
So how can you say that you know me
When you can see nothing but the pretence?
I can fool everyone else, so why can't I fool me??
