I woke up feeling like shit. This was my own fault for staying up reading again, I didn't regret it though. Yawning, I rolled over and pulled the blankets up higher so I could go back sleep. It was only a matter of time before he would come in and force me out of bed. He did it everyday during middle school and I'm sure the same goes for now, today is our first day at high school.

I was correct in assuming this since barely a minute passed before the constantly tired-looking boy stumbled into my room.

"Oi, (Y/n)," he grumbled, approaching my bed. I didn't answer, if I did he'd just catch me in his quirk and force me up like he used to. I had learned my lesson and kept my mouth shut. He sighed and stood behind my blanket clad figure, lifting his foot to give me kick. I rolled over and glared at him, shoving off my blankets.

"Okay, okay. I'm getting up." He watches as I stand and rub my bare arms, missing the warmth of my bed.

"If you're cold, put some more clothes on. Mom made breakfast, it's down stairs if you're hungry," he muttered, obviously still tired. Even though he got much more sleep than me, he looked like didn't sleep a wink. I always worried for him, he always looked so exhausted.

Once he began walking towards the door, I stopped him, holding onto the sleeve of his shirt. He turned and looked down at me, he was noticeably taller.

"Something you need, glowstone?" he asks, using a nickname he came up when he first discovered my quirk. I was a little unsure about asking since he was closest person to me and the only one I was scared to embarrass myself in front of.

"Hitoshi, did you sleep alright? You look awfully tired," I worried, not noticing the blush that dusted his cheeks. Turning his head to the side, he pulled my hand from his sleeve and rested it on the back of his neck.

"Just fine, you know I always look like this and I sleep well. We used to share a room, do you want me to move back in?" he teases. I shrug my shoulders, looking up at him with a blank stare.

"Sorry, let's just have breakfast."

----------------------------------------------

I looked around at the bustling city as we got on the train, crowds of others doing the same to get to work and school. Sticking close to Hitoshi, I held onto the front of his blazer. He didn't seem to care but was cautious. Occasionally, he would look around to make sure no perverts were eyeing me. He was was rarely protective but when he was, he was quite menacing. I had experience it once before on the train when someone tried to snap a picture under my skirt.

The train came to a halt at our stop, the two of us getting off with a crowd of adults and students. Some wore the U.A uniform, the same as us, it made me wonder which courses they would be in. I turned to Hitoshi as he walked by my side, his long legs taking short steps to match my slower speed.

"Do you think you'll be okay in general studies?" I asked him bluntly. He gazed at me in the corner of his eye, one of his eyebrows cocking upward.

"I'll be fine, Glowstone. What about you? You'll be alone in the hero course, do you think you'll be able to make friends?" he questions. I had been thinking about this since I had been accepted into the well-known hero academy. I wasn't very good with making friends, never had been. The only reason Hitoshi and I had grown close was because I was taken in by his family. Naturally, spending so much time with his family made us close. I would consider him my best friend, kind of like a brother. He stood up for me during middle school when other kids tried to pick on me. I didn't need him to but that didn't stop him, it seemed like they didn't like him anyway.

The two of us continued walking, stopping when we stood in front of the large gate. The four connected buildings behind it were amazing, it made our old middle school look like an ant hill.

I was the first to take a step forward. There was a reason for my confidence, that being the fact that I had gotten into the U.A hero course through recommendations. Even though I felt excitement for this new chapter of my life, my face remained neutral. I find it hard to express myself sometimes but being around Hitoshi, it doesn't matter. He's the same as me, except I've seen him smile and laugh before. He followed me past the gate and up to the building, the two of us splitting up to go to our course buildings. I sent him a wave which he returned with a soft smile. My eyes lingered on his retreating back as he walked away, trying to grasp the fact that I was now alone.

Two years with Hitoshi by my side and now I was facing everything by myself again. Gaining the confidence, I entered the heroics building and began searching for my class. I walked around for a while, worrying that I'd be late if I didn't find it soon. I mentally thanked Hitoshi for waking me up a little earlier so we had time to find our classes.

On the way, my feet started to ache. School shoes weren't exactly designed for walking long distances. I though about using my quirk, deciding that it was only appropriate in a school like this. Concentrating hard, a light green aura surrounded my body. I repelled my feet from the floor, allowing me to hover above the ground. It had taken me a long time to learn this and it still wasn't very impressive. Repelling the air behind me, my glowing figure began moving forward down the hall. It took another five minutes before I  saw the sign ahead which read 1A. I was grateful that I had arrived and with a few minutes to spare.

I slid the door open and floated in, releasing my quirk after closing the door. When I turned back around, I saw everyone with their eyes on me. My face remained bland as I looked to the board, seeing the seating plan. Without sparing anyone a glance or greeting, I moved to my desk in the back row. I mentally thanked Shota for my desk placement, sitting down.

A tall boy with dark-blue hair and glasses hurried to stand in front of my desk. His face harbored a friendly yet strict-looking smile, his hand extended for me to shake. I stared up at him, scanning his face as he spoke.

"Welcome to class 1A, since we'll be spending time in the same class I suggest you introduce yourself to everyone. My name is Tenya Iida," he greets. I couldn't help but notice how neat everything about him was and how authoritative his voice was.

"Seems like a student rep," I muttered under my breath. Noticing my lips move, he cocked an eyebrow, his hand chopping the air to remind me it was there to shake.

"Please speak up, don't you want to introduce yourself?" he presses. I shrugged my shoulders, holding his gaze.

"(Y/n) (L/n) and I don't really uh..." I trailed off, my eyes looking down at his offered hand.

"No offense or anything, I just um." He pulled his rejected hand back, his cheeks tinted pink in embarrassment.

"Completely understandable, if I'm making you uncomfortable I truly apologize," he says with a bow. I watch as he stands and shake my head.

"It's my fault, don't worry about it, uh Iida was it?" He nods, his hand chopping the air unintentionally. I watched the little habit as he spoke, talking about how he was accustomed to shaking someone's hand and how he was just surprised by my response. According to him, he had run into a little trouble earlier with a boy who sat on the other side of the class. I glanced over and saw as ash-blonde hedgehog sitting on a sour-faced boys head like a hat. I found it amusing but my face didn't move at all, it rarely does.

Hearing the door open once more, we both turned and watched as a green-haired boy with symmetrical freckles entered. I could tell he was nervous by the way he looked around with haste, his eyes darting around the room. I caught his gaze for a second before a brunette ran over and began talking to him, they seemed to already know each other. Iida cleared his throat and adjusted his tie, looking down at me.

"If you'll excuse me, (L/n)-san. I'll be greeting our new classmates." He then walked over to them, loudly introducing himself. I felt the urge to smirk but held it back, I just wasn't feeling it.

Taking a deep breath, I lean back in my chair and close my eyes. I wasn't too interested in making friends in class, all I really needed was Hitoshi when I got home. We could sit together and lunch, walk home after school and then spend the afternoon and night hanging out. I was so used to having him close in middle school, we were in the same class so we spent every second together. At one point we even shared a room, but since we were moving onto high school his parents thought it would be better that we separate. It meant nothing to him, he didn't care either way. I was the reason for it but didn't stop it when it happened. I didn't want to get too attached, not again.

Taking notice of a new voice I watched as Shota walked in, dragging a bright yellow sleeping bag behind him. He puts it down behind his desk and throws his empty juice box into the bin, before standing slouched before the class.

"I'll be your home room teacher, call me Mr. Aizawa." I stared blandly at him, seeing the other students hurry to their desks in my peripherals. He then lifts what looked to be a gym uniform up for everyone to see.

"Put these on and meet me outside." He then left, everyone in the class seeming shocked by the blunt male's words. A brunette began worrying about orientation but I wasn't surprised this was happening. If Shota was given the opportunity to do his own thing, he would. Seeing him as a teacher was strange but I didn't care, just as long as I could get all of this over and done with without any fuss.

The girls headed to the changing room so I decided to follow, the boys heading their own direction. When it came to making friends with girls, I was terrible. In middle school, they all thought I was weird and avoided me at all costs. It didn't bother me in the slightest but I was still aware of how they felt about me. Up ahead I watched the other girls walk, some of them already talking and acting friendly with each other.

A girl with pink skin and dark eyes.

One with long green hair, large eyes and a tongue which hung past her lips.

Another with dark hair pulled back into a spiky pony and large chest.

A girl with short purple hair and earphone jacks hanging from her ears.

A brunette with pink cheeks and bubbly personality.

And finally, a girl with no appearance at all, she was invisible.

In this world, there were so many differences between people. None of these girls looked alike, they all stood out in their own way. I just hoped that I didn't, standing out wasn't a priority of mine. Even though I had considered making friends, I wasn't that keen on it. Instead, I liked the idea of focusing on my studies in class and spending every break with Hitoshi. I hoped that he was doing alright in his class, kids picked on him in middle school too.

Noticing the changing rooms up ahead, I heaved a sigh of relief. I'd find some privacy and change without having any attention drawn to me, then I'd meet Shota outside and do whatever he wanted the class to do. It sounded easier than it was, all I'd have to do for now is try and blend in with all these wanna be heroes. Thinking about it like that made me feel bad, like I was deceiving them or something, but it also reminded myself that I didn't care.

They're gonna be heroes, whereas I am not.

New story! Hope that this turns out well, I have ideas but not a solid plan so I'm half winging it. This will have both male and female characters interested in (Y/n) and since she's 16 (the legal age in my country) there may be a few older characters interested. By older I mean early 20's, no teachers. Thanks >.<
