Ashes of My Mind

Alive

As the snow caps all the small houses
And the last faint glimpse of sunlight
Dips gently below the horizon
Bidding goodbye and bringing daylight to another
As I stare hopefully from my windowsill
And think
"It is good to be alive
All the kind hearts and souls
Beautiful memories shared between special bonds
Blood pumping vibrantly through our veins
Yeah,
Life is hard
Unfair
Cruel
But there is still endless possibilities and wonder in our thriving plant
Better than having the same old same old
Sometimes....
It is different though
The obstacle we face
We faced together
As a nation
A union
A team"
Somewhere out there
Is another thinking the exact same thing
