*LIAM'S P.O.V*
"So what do you think of her mates?" I asked the boys while putting plates of food in front of them and sitting down at the head of the table.
"She's sweet, funny, and she's a complete babe with a gorgeous voice." Harry said digging into his waffles.
"She is but don't you think she's....different. I mean yesterday her 'very deep wounds' we're gone nearly seconds after she was up. And not to mention she owns a panther and has the strength of a pro wrestler." Louis said lowly. Sasha strides into the room and goes to the sink then looks at me.
"You thirsty girl?" I asked her getting up from my seat. She nods her head and I grab a bowl, fill it with some water and put it on the ground.
"An incredible smart cat at that!" Niall said with a mouth full of food.
"I agree there is something fishy going on with her. Maybe Zayn knows... we should ask them when they get back." I say taking my seat and eating my food.
"Agreed. Also guys um...Simon saw the twitcam we did earlier and asked to call him before the inerveiw..." Harry said nervously.
"Why?" Niall said beating me to the punch.
"Well me and Harry thought it be a funny idea to point the twitcam at you guys. When you and Marina were singing and he saw it. Well that and 4 million people also saw it." Louis chuckled before stuffing his face with food. Four million people wow Simon is either going to be very pissed or very happy about this cause she did sing very well.
"Well we have....a couple of hours to come up with a good excuse." Harry said after finishing his plate.
"True." Niall said finishing his plate as well.
*Marina's P.O.V*
How could I say no to a statement like that. Looking at his vulnerable face with tears in both of our eyes. I wanted to say yes so bad. I mean what girl wouldn't say yes to the Zayn Malik. Listen to your heart Marina what's it telling you? To go for it and see what happens. I nod my head fiercely to speechless to say anything.
"Yes!" He screamed hugging me tightly and spinning me around. I start laughing.
"Getting dizzy here and people are staring!!" I yelled and he sat me down instantly wiping our tears away.
"Sorry!" He said with the biggest smile on his face. I hadn't seen that smile in so long. "I'm just so so happy to hold you again Marina. You have no idea." He pecked me on the lips. "Let's go get something to eat. Its still early so they should still have breakfast." He rushed out in excitement. His presence once again made me just happy and excited as he was.
"Well come on then! Show me the best of human cuisine." I said with glee, grabbing his hand and smiling up at him. The sparks and electricity were there just like the first time we met.
"Well I saw a MacDonald's before we came into the park. Let's go" Zayn said grabbing my hand and running for the gate.
*Several Hours Later, 11:50*
We were back in the park, eating 'ice cream' sitting underneath this massive willow tree (Zayn made). That hid us from the joggers and old people sitting around. We had talked about every thing that had happened since he had left. To him being on X Factor, Living with a bunch of talented people, Being on tv, becoming famous, from touring and crazy fans. To me writing songs everyday, training, traveling to different places of the kingdom and finding out about the arrange marriage and up to the point where Kane had 'attacked' me.
"He did what?!" Zayn growled through his teeth.
"Calm down I'm okay...now. Plus if he hadn't attacked I wouldn't be here Zayn. Your the one that always said don't focus on the what ifs in life! Take your own advice." I whispered finishing off my ice cream.
"Im sorry I just can't fathom the idea of him doing something so evil...so vile ugh he should be beheaded and fed to the sharks!" Zayn said moving closer to me and wrapping an arm around my shoulders protectively.
"Its okay hopefully we'll never have to see any of them again......so umm I'm guessing that the boys don't know about...our kind." I commented. Looking up at the swaying branches of the willow.
"No. I couldn't bring myself to tell them. I mean I trust them with my life. But how do I tell them? Just say.... 'Oh hey guys the reason I don't swim is 'cause I grow a tail and gills oh and also I can make the ground move and plants grow with my mind'. Yeah thats not something you say over tea and crumpets." Zayn laughs humourlessly.
"Well I think they wouldn't see you any differently as they do now Zayn. Plus you can always give them the seal of silence so they couldn't tell anyone. You should tell them before its too late. Louis was really upset last night 'cause you never told them about me. I could tell the others were saddened too. Could you imagine what this lie would do to your friendships AND careers if you kept it in any longer?" I said looking back at him.
"I know but I keep expecting the worse case scenario. Ya know? Like they would turn their backs on me or even worse be scared of me..." Zayn said in sadness. He has always been like this, keeping everything in, afraid of what people would think of him.
"Zayn they love you, care for you like a brother I can see it. If anything Louis would be the first one wanting to see your 'sexy tail' and Liam would be concerned that you wouldn't be getting in the water enough! Harry would be extremely jealous and Niall would probably end up just laughing it all off!" I tried lifting his spirits. Its what I was best at. "Plus from what you and the guys told me it wouldn't be One Direction without one of you guys!" I see a smile starting to form. "I could see Louis now 'A merman! I DONT BELIEVE YOU LET ME SEE YO SEXY TAIL!" I said screaming in a fake British accent. Zayn burst out laughing hysterically.
"I could told see him doing that!!" When he laughed everything got brighter (literally) the grass got greener and the flowers were almost glowing. Then I saw something I hadn't noticed before.
"Is that....a tattoo on your arm?"
Zayn's laughing quitted down and he pulled up his jacket sleeve.
"Yup! its a microphone and just a comical ZAP! like in the comic books I collected...I have others too." Zayn said pointing at them. Zayn always talked about getting more tattoos...
"Do you still have ours?" I asked remembering Yin Yang ones we got together. Mine was just below my left breast.
"Of course!" He said removing his other arm from my shoulders and showing me his Yin and Yang sign.
It was smaller and more simple then mine but it still meant a lot to me. It was a symbol of our 'unique' friendship and love for one another. I trace it with my thumb. "I used to hate looking at it...'cause it reminded me of what I did to you. The bond I had broken. That last image I had of you was glued in my memory for three years. At one point I got so stressed and upset I picked up the human habit of smoking." Zayn said squeezing my hands and looking at me with saddened eyes.
"You know it's extremely dangerous for mer-people to smoke! It could ruin your water lungs and its highly addictive for us. Not to mention the effects it could have on your voice." i rambled with concern.
"I know, I know and I have been trying to quit. For the band and the fans...but its hard, so hard." His voice cracked. I embrace him with a tight hug. He starts weeping in my shoulder.
"Shhh, its going to be okay. We'll get through this you hear me? We're mermaids, we're strong. Plus you have millions of people that support you including the band and your family." I said soothingly while rubbing his back he stopped crying but continued to hold me tightly rocking back and forth slightly. Ten minutes later Zayn had somehow ended up laying on the ground with me laying on his chest. He was okay now.
"Can...can you sing to me?" I pouted making the puppy dog face that I used on him all the time.
"Urrggh! Not that face! I get enough of that from the boys!"
I bit my lip knowing he couldn't resist it. I saw his breath hitch.
"Fi-fine um let's see... oh okay" He paused took a deep breath and started singing.

I laid my head on his chest hearing his heart racing.

When I looked up at him everything around us stopped. It was just me and Zayn.

We were forehead to forehead, and nose to nose with his arm secure around my waist.
Just as we were leaning in to kiss Zayn's whole body went rigid.
"What?" I asked concerned when his eyes flashed red.
"Someones watching us. I can feel it",He whispered in a hard tone.
"Ogod! It could be my fathers guard. What if its Kane's? I shouldn't had come here. I'm sorry I wasn't thinking. God why am I so stupid Zayn. What about the boys-" I rambled before getting cut off by Zayn.
"Marina calm down I'm here I can protect us. Now let's leave 'casually'. Then soon as we hit the gates we take off to the hotel. If they follow us there we will 'take care of them okay?" Zayn said in a soothing voice.
"You trust me?"
"Yes"
"Then come on."
