Nate
It seemed like the day kept dragging on and on, but finally it was over.
After I got all of Brittney’s homework, I met up with Nick and Sarah in front
of the school, and then we walked to Kate’s house.
“Hurry up, guys,” I said to Nick and Sarah.
“Why are you such a hurry,” Nick asked.
“Because I’m freezing, my arms are tire, and I want to see Brittney as soon as
humanly possible,” I answered.
“You go on ahead and we’ll see you at Kate’s house,” Sarah told me. I looked
at Nick for his opinion and he just nodded his head.
“Whatever you two say, but don’t be too long,” I said.
I turned and started walking faster towards Kate’s house.
Nick
“So why did you tell him to go on ahead,” I asked Sarah.
“Well, once we get there we won’t be spending much time alone so I thought
we may as well spend time alone right now,” she explained.
“Oh, okay,” I said wrapping my arms around her waist. “Hey, it just occurred
to me, I never really asked you if you wanted to go back to Kate’s house.”
“It’s okay, I still have to get my bag. I have to be home by six-thirty tonight, though,” she told me.
“Okay, we’ll go to your house by then,” I replied.
“K, that works,” she said as we arrived at Kate’s house.
“Hey, you two love birds,” Kate said as we entered the kitchen.
“Shut up,” Sarah blushed.
“Wow, that’s not something you see everyday,” Christian said.
“What,” I asked.
“Sarah blushing,” he answered. “She’s never actually been a blusher.”
“Thanks, cousin,” Sarah said.
“No problem,” Christian laughed.
“So what exactly are we all going to do today,” I asked.
“I don’t know but I’ve got to go talk to Brittney. I’ll be back in few minutes,”
Kate said before leaving the room.
Kate
“Hey, Nate, can I talk to Brittney alone, please,” I asked Nate as I walked into
the living room.
“Are you kidding me,” he asked. “Kate, you’ve had all day to talk to her alone.”
“Please, I promise that if you just give me five minutes she can be all yours,” I
told him.
“Fine,” he said reluctantly.
“Let’s go upstairs,” I told Brittney.
She got up off of the couch and followed me upstairs.
“What is it,” she asked me curiously.
“I was just wondering how you were feeling,” I replied.
“I’m fine, but why did you want to come up here just to ask me that?”
“I don’t know,” I said. “Hey, if you and Nate want to go home then feel free to.”
“Are you sure,” Brittney asked.
“Yeah, it’s not like we’re doing anything interesting here,” I said. “Plus, I kind
of guessed that he wants to be alone with you.”
“Yeah probably,” Brittney replied. “The question is how are we going to get to
his house? I mean I’m pretty sure that he’s not going to want me to walk all
the way to his house.”
“Well, since my mom’s resting I bet Christian’s mom would come and pick
you two up and take you guys to his house,” I told her.
“Okay, that works,” she said.
“Let’s go back downstairs,” replied while heading towards the stairs. She
followed me back downstairs and into the kitchen where Nate was waiting for
us.
“That was not five minutes,” he complained.
“You’re right because it was under five minutes now stop complaining,”
Brittney told him.
“Okay, sorry,” Nate replied quietly.
“Christian,” I said as I walked towards him, “can you call your mom to see if
she can give Nate and Brittney a ride to Nate’s house?”
“Sure,” Christian told me.
Nick
“While there’s a ride, do you want to go home,” I asked Sarah.
“Yeah,” she answered.
“Okay, you look really tired,” I told her.
“I am, but I’ll be good after a much needed nap,” she said.
“Okay,” I replied.
“K, my mom’s here to pick you guys up so I guess that we’ll see you later,”
Christian said.
Brittney, Nate, Sarah, and I all said our goodbyes before we left the kitchen
and walked outside to Christian’s mom’s car.
Christian
“I’m so tired,” Kate complained.
“Then you should go take a nap,” I told her.
“Come lie down with me,” she said.
“Fine, your room or the couch,” I asked.
“The couch, but I’m going to go get my blanket from my room. You should
choose something for us to watch,” she said before she hurried up the stairs.
“Thanks for leaving me,” I called after her.
“Oh, shut up and just choose something to watch,” she called back to me.
Oh my, I thought to myself before going into the living room and turning the
TV on.
“Did you find anything to watch,” Kate asked as she walked into the living
room wrapped in her blanket.
“No,” I told her. “Are you cold?”
“No, but I feel really light headed,” she told me.
“Have you taken your pills for today,” I asked her.
“I thought I did, but now I’m not so sure,” Kate answered. “I’m going to sit
down, do you mind going and getting them?”
“Not at all,” I told her while getting up to go to the kitchen.
Kate
The lightheadedness was on the verge of me passing out when Christian
returned with my pills.
“Here ya go,” Christian said as he handed me them.
“Thanks,” I said.
“You need to remember to take them everyday,” he told me.
“I know,” I sighed. “I must have gotten so caught up with Brittney’s condition
that I forgot about my own condition.”
“Oh, okay,” he said. “How about you lie down and take it easy for a couple of
hours?”
“I think that I’ll take you up on that suggestion,” I smiled up at him and kissed
his lips.
“Good, let’s lie down,” Christian told me. We lied down and wat Vampire
Diaries together.
Brittney
“Hey, sweetie, how are you feeling,” Nate asked me.
“I’m fine,” I assured him.
“Are you hungry,” he asked.
“No,” I answered.
“Come on, Brittney, you have barely ate anything all day,” he said.
“I’ve addressed that fact already,” I somewhat snapped at him.
“Okay, I’m sorry I’m just worried about you,” he said kind of quietly.
“Look, I’m sorry for snapping at you, but I’m worried about what’s happening
to me. It worries me the most that I might have stomach cancer or something
worse,” I explained to him.
“I’m sure that you don’t have stomach cancer,” Nate said. “Doctors are taught
to be able to detect those types of things even if they’re minor. Obviously Dr.
Williams didn’t see anything unusual or he would have told you so. Now, relax
and rest since I’m sure that whatever is wrong is going to blow over in the next
few days. For now, though, can I at least make you some tea?”
“No, I’m fine for now,” I assured him. “I’m going to try to sleep some more,
though.”
“Okay night, I love you,” Nate said giving me a kiss on my lips.
I lied down on his bed and soon fell asleep.
