Brenda's POV
Monday, November 17, 2014
Sam and I have been dating for a month now. His black eye faded completely about a week ago and his knee is better. He doesn't need crutches anymore, and he can walk and dance just fine. He told me that he's been working on a song to sing in Glee today. He said he wrote it, and he wouldn't let me here it yet.
TIME SKIP
"This week is country music!" Some people groaned. Sam and I stood up.
"Oh, come on y'all! It's not that bad!"
"Says the one who was born in the stupid South." Puck said rolling his eyes. That hit a nerve. I walked up to him, everyone was standing, and bitch slapped him.
"Do NOT insult me, or the place I was born. If you do it one more time, you'll regret it." I growled in his ear. I looked at him and saw that I left a mark. Everyone was laughing. I smiled and walked back over to Sam, who had jumped up onto the piano. I jumped up beside him as Mr. Schue asked us a question.
"Okay, raise your hand if you have ever listened to country music, and liked it." Marley, Sam and I were the only ones who raised our hands. "Okay, come up here Marley." She came and stood beside us.
"How many can you name, Marley?"
"Like, 2." She blushed.
"Okay, name them."
"Toby Keith and Keith Urban." She answered.
"Okay, how many can you two name?"
"You name the girls, I'll name the boys." Sam said. I nodded. "You can go first." I nodded, and Mr. Schue wrote down what Marley said.
"Okay, so there's Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill, Reba, Taylor Swift, Shania Twain, Patsy Cline, LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, Loretta Lynn, Tanya Tucker, Lee Ann Womack, Alison Krauss, Sara Evans, Gretchen Wilson, Trisha Yearwood, Tammy Wynette, Kellie Pickler, Kimberly Perry, Rachel Reinert, Kacey Musgraves, Cassadee Pope, and Jana Kramer." I said. Mr. Schue looked surprised but he wrote them down.
"Okay, Sam it's your turn." He grinned and started,
"Brad Paisley, George Straight, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Randy Travis, Blake Shelton, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, Willie Nelson, Jason Aldean, Hank Williams, Vince Gill, Josh Turner, Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Billy Curington, Bucky Covington, Elvis Presley, Eric Church, Gary Allen, Joe Nichols, Kevin Montgomery, Kid Rock, Lee Greenwood, Paul Overstreet, Hunter Hayes, and Scotty Mcreery."
"Damn Sam!" Finn said.
"What?"
"That's a lot of people!"
"Oh, I know. There are whole lot more too."
"I've heard of Paul Overstreet. His son his hot!" Sugar said.
"What's his name?" I asked.
"Chord Overstreet." I looked him up and found a picture of him. I looked at Sam, then at the picture, then at Sam again.
"What the hell?" I kept looking at Sam then the picture.
"What? Do I have something on my face?"
"No, look at this." He took my phone and looked at the picture,
"The hell?"
"What are you two looking at?" I went to Mr. Schue's computer and typed in Chord Overstreet. Sam turned the Promethean board on. I pulled up the picture I was looking at.
"That's you!"
"No, it's not. It's that Chord dude. I look just like him! How the hell dude?" Sam said confused.
"He's got the big lips and everything!"
"Let's not worry about it now, I want to hear your song Sam!" I said.
"Okay," Everyone sat down as he picked up his guitar. Blaine went to the piano. "Okay, I wrote this song for everyone who has been bullied in here, and for Kurt especially." Kurt smiled.
Crowded hallways,are the loneliest places,
For outcasts and rebels,
Or anyone who just dares to be different.
And you've been trying for so long
To find out where your places is
But in their narrow minds
There's no room for anyone who dares to do something different
Oh,but listen for a minute.
Trust the one
Who's been where you are, wishing all it was
Was sticks and stones
Those words cut deep but they don't mean you're all alone
And your not invisible
Hear me out,
There's much more to life than what your feeling now
Someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible
Oh,invisible
So you confidence is quiet
To them quiet looks like weakness
But you don't have to fight it
'Cause you're strong enough to win without the war
Every heart has a rhythm
Let yours beat out so loudly
That everyone can hear it
Yeah,I promise you don't need to hide it anymore
Oh,and never be afraid of doing something different
Dare to be something more
Trust the one
Who's been where you are, wishing all it was
Was sticks and stones
Yeah, the words cut deep but they don't mean your all alone
And your not invisible
Hear me out,
There's so much more to this life than what your feeling now
And someday you'll look back on all these days,
And all this pain is gonna be invisible
These labels that they give you
Just 'cause they don't understand
If you look past this moment
You'll see you've got a friend
Waving your flag for who you are
And all your gonna do
Yeah,so here's to you
And anyone who's ever felt invisible
Yeah,and you're not invisible
Hear me out,
There's so much more to life than what your feeling now
And someday you'll look back on all these days
And all this pain is gonna be invisible
It'll be invisible
When the song was over everyone stood up and clapped.
"Wow, Sam that was, wow." I said in awe.
"Thanks."
"That was beautiful, Sam." Kurt said.
"Thanks Kurt, come here." Sam hugged Kurt and then he sat back down.
"Awe!" I heard a familiar voice say. Everyone turned toward the door and saw Tina and Mike standing at the door. I gasped and ran to hug her. After everyone hugged her, Mr. Schue asked,
"Why'd you run away Tina?"
"The football players and cheerleaders were calling me an Asian slut and whore and I couldn't take it. That's why I left. And I heard your song Sam, it was amazing." He smiled. Everyone talked to her until Mr. Schue said,
"Alright guys, sit down. We have two very special guests. Brenda knows them both, mostly because one of them is her great uncle. Mr. Alan Jackson!"
"Hey y'all!" He said as he walked in.
"And the other guest is Josh Turner!"
"Hey, y'all! You miss us Brenda?"
"Oh my god, yes I missed you!" I hugged them.
"So, whose your boyfriend?"Josh asked. I blushed. I pointed at him. Alan walked up to him.
"What's your name son?" Sam, looking nervous said,
"Sam Evans."
"Sam, I heard you naming the names of us country singers, I'm assuming your a country boy?"
{Sam}
Excuse me ma'am,I saw you walking
I turned around,I'm not a stalker
Where you going?Maybe I can help you
My tank is full,I'd be obliged to take you.
'Cause I'ma country boy,I got a four-wheel drive
limb in my bed and I'll take you for a ride
Up city streets,down country roads
I can get you where you need to go
'Cause I'ma a country boy
{Alan}
You sure look good sitting in my right seat
Buckle up and I'll take you through the five speeds
Wind it up or I can slow it way down
In the woods or right up town
I'ma country boy,got a four-wheel drive
Climb in my bed and I'll take you for a ride
Up city streets,down country roads
Yeah,I can get where you need to go
'Cause I'ma country boy
{Sam}
Big thirty-fives,winding on the asphalt
Grabbing mud and slinging up some red dirt
'Cause I'ma country boy
My mufflers loud,dual thrust tubes
Crank the music and the tone gets real good
Let me know when we're getting close
You can slide on out or we can head on down the road
'Cause I'ma country boy,I got four-wheel drive
Climb in my dad and I'll take you for a ride
Up city streets,down country roads
Yeah,I can get you where you want to go
'Cause I'ma country boy
{Alan}
Bucket seats,soft as a baby's nude butt
Locking[incomprehensible]to take you through a deep rut
'Cause I'ma country boy,I got four-wheel drive
Climb in my bed and I'll take you for a ride
Up city streets,down country roads
I can get you where you want to go
Yeah,I'ma country boy
{Both}
Yeah,I'ma country boy,I got four-wheel drive
Climb in my bed and I'll take you for a ride
Up city streets,down country roads
I can get you where you want to go
'Cause I'ma country boy, yeah,I'ma country boy
Ah,I'm just a country boy,a nice little country boy
