I sat perfectly straight in the back seat of the car, it was now time for what my grandfather was preparing me for. My grandfather constantly spoke of a prophecy that I would fulfill, I was to become a bride. I was sheltered from the outside world and only ate certain types of food. I was locked deep down in a cold dungeon room for hours on end to study and learn of what will happen to me once I turned eighteen. The Village I live in is called, Hotaru, our village is run by the Akuhei family. For many centuries the Akuhei family reigned over us, you might think they kept passing it down to their children but you are wrong, you see the Akuhei family were vampires also known as Elders of the land. The elders have six sons and all must marry or find their "bride" if you want to call it by its term. Three of the brothers, the eldest ones, they already have their brides. The three younger brothers must now find their brides this year to complete the prophecy. I heard they almost don't even look like each other, especially their personalities. My grandfather quickly got me signed up since birth because my birthday fell on the day of the choosing, also I would be turning eighteen when the youngest of the brothers had to choose. My grandfather said it was my destiny since birth, that I belonged to one of the brothers. My grandfather was the Priest of the land and hide the fact he had a daughter deep down underneath the church. My parents had abandoned me when I was four, my grandfather told me that my mother left my father and he went completely insane without out her and ran the streets after her. I was completely sheltered from human contact as well as I went through daily traditional rituals, tasks, and duties that would fall on me when I become of age. This was all I knew.
My heart raced as we turned onto the road to the Akuhei Mansion, I have never been so far from my home in my whole life. My eyes wandered all over the scenes as we traveled down the road. The outside world was completely amazing I only knew some things by pictures in books that I had read. I am a very shy girl but I can stick up for myself, I guess I can be childish at times... more of that innocent sweet caring side. My hands began to shake and started to get sweaty as I wiped them down my blackish purple flowy dress as we got closer. What if they didn't like me? What if I wasn't supposed to be one of their brides... I only know how to be a vessel and a vampire bride. I took a deep breath as I closed my eyes letting my head drop so my long pure white hair fell down and covered my face like a curtain. I held my gothic rose pendant close to my chest wishing I could go back home already. All to soon I felt the car come to a stop as I heard my door being open. I slowly looked up with my bright green eyes to see an absolutely gorgeous woman with a small soft smile. I recognized her as Lady Kumori, one of the elder brother's bride, I could even see the family mark on her neck and shoulder blade. Lady Kumori was said to be the sweetest ones here at the Akuhei family's home. I bit my lip as I got out slowly as I say while looking at the ground and curtsied.
"Thank you, Lady Kumori."
I slowly looked up at her as she was tensed up, making me extremely worried. Did I do something improper, or was it the fact that I knew who she was? I could hear all the other girls behind me getting excited to see the brothers. I looked away ashamed as Kumori touched my arm catching me before I could turn away and before I could walk away from her. Lady Kumori then says in a very soft and kind voice
"Your blood... it's so pure and exotic... so Innocent, how could this be? Not even the nun's blood is this pure... So strong."
My heart raced as I heard doors being opened as the girls screaming out in so much excitement. I looked back nervous just to see all the girls were in colorful bright revealing dress as they jumped up and down excited that they were going to go get a chance with the Akuhei brothers. There was about four of them in front of me making me frown deeply. There are usually two girls, for one brother, to chose from... what had happened to her? I then slowly looked back at the waiting Kumori as she was staring at me in awe as the other girls started to file in still almost screaming my ear off. I then say in a very soft nervous voice
"My grandfather is the Priest of this town... he had raised me inside the church far from humans and civilization so I could not become corrupted. Um.... should we go in Lady Kumori, I don't want to get in trouble?"
Kumori still had a shocked look on her face as she nodded quickly while trying to collect herself again. I smiled softly at her as we walked side by side into the mansion in a civil manner like the books said. Right, when I walked in I saw all the girls clinging onto two of the brothers. The one I recognized as Aizen, he had red asymmetrical hair, shaved on one side, with yellow tips, it was messy in an edgy punky style. Aizen had bright red eyes with specks of gold in them and he wore a very neat royal men's uniform. Then there was Saito, he also wore the royal men's uniform with his white button up shirt that was unbuttoned so you could see his chest and a family pendant hanging loosely on his chiseled chest. Saito had blonde hair with a few black streaks that were messy and he had bright dark blue eyes. I stood back knowing all too well that the brothers were to choose two girls, to chose their bride. I looked around the room as I saw another brother, it was Genji, he had white hair with black tips, it was also asymmetrical but not as dramatic as Aizen's hair, but it was in a messy manner. Genji's eyes were a gorgeous gold with a few silver specks. Genji was leaning against the wall with a flower in his hands as I caught him looking over in my direction but soon he looked down at the flower in his hands sadly. His uniform was spot on except for his jacket I was guessing he didn't like it so he didn't wear it. I took a deep breath as my heart was slowly starting to pick up as I kept staring at Genji. I kept on contemplating if I should go over and sit in the chair next to where he was standing. I then heard a female's voice as most of the girls quickly step back from Aizen and Saito. The women walked fully in as she looks around the room as her silver with purple speckled eyes landed on me with a raised eyebrow as if she was a bit shocked at me. I got extremely nervous thinking that I had done something wrong yet again. Aizen then says out of nowhere making me jump a bit at the sudden noise.
"Hey, Yoshi, I don't know if I could pick just two of these gorgeous girls."
Yoshi's head snaps over to Aizen as I frowned at him, what a player, he was just loving all the attention he was getting from these desperate girls. Aizen looks over at me as he tried to give me a sexy grin but I only stared at him back like he was stupid. I was not that easy to be won over by a cheesy grin. Aizen frowns deeply but before he could say anything, Yoshi spoke up
"Well, even though it is improper to not do the traditional way, I guess I have no choice. I want the girls to choose the man they want a shot at."
The girls stared at Yoshi as it slowly started to process through their minds that they got to pick the man they wanted a chance at. All to soon they all started to fuss over the two brothers again as I looked over at Genji as his face and body dropped with sadness and depression. My heart wrenched making me frown a bit, Genji threw the flower to the ground as he crossed his arms and closed his eyes shut. I frowned at his actions, I looked around to see Kumori and Ito, her husband, also another one of the brothers, watching everyone in the foyer. I looked back at Genji as he slumped onto the chair near where he was standing. I slowly walked over to him as my heart began to race, he was incredibly gorgeous. My fears of him not liking me or wanting to give me a chance was heightening quickly as I got closer to him. I stopped at the flower on the floor as I picked up the gorgeous black lily. Genji slowly opened his eyes slightly looking at me with sadness and what also looked like was hope all to soon it narrowed into a glare as he growled lowly at me as a warning. I ignored his rudeness and walked over to him as I sat on the little foot stool that went to the chair he was in. I gently placed the flower in his hand that was resting on the arm of the chair as I say lightly
"A gorgeous flower like that should never be wasted on the floor. Especially, when you have an opportunity to share it with another person"
Genji's eyes opened more as he looked at the flower in his hand. I saw a small hint of a smile play across his face but soon as it came he narrowed them as he hissed out while throwing the flower to the floor yet again.
"I don't want you, you're only here because my brothers already have their two."
I was completely shocked, how could he say that his eyes were closed the whole time, how could he possibly know if I was after his brothers first or if I actually came straight to him. I mean he could have noticed that there was one voice that wasn't screaming for his brother's attention. My grandfather showed me my options of who I could have a chance at marrying, Genji was my pick and I was not going to change my mind. I stared at him in shock as he snarled lowly at me obviously not liking my silence towards him but how else was I supposed to respond to something like that? He didn't even give me a chance... I looked at the floor as I say while standing up a bit defeated
"You have no idea if you were my first pick or not... your eyes were closed the whole time."
I stood up trying to figure out what to do now. You see when the brother says he doesn't want you, that means you're done there at the mansion weather you become a Chi Sabanto or instantly killed, maybe even you had the choice of going home. I frowned deeply to myself, would my grandfather allow me to come back home after failing his prophecy. I started to walk away as I felt a hand grab my wrist tightly making me gasp out at the pain. I then heard Genji growl out darkly and fiercely
"I know fully well that you did not pick me. No one ever does, now go try my other brothers."
I stared at him in complete shock while he shoved me away from him. I stumbled back not knowing what I should do with myself. I saw that Kumori stepped forward a bit just to have Ito hold her back waiting for something. I couldn't speak, it was as if my lungs were closed and a lump formed in my throat as I stared at Genji. All of a sudden I heard Aizen's voice say out
"Ah, little bitch is now free game, come, come Genji doesn't want you. I will gladly take you in, the more the merrier for me."
I frowned deeply at Genji as my head snaps over so I could look at Aizen. How dare he call me a bitch, anger flooded my body making me get nervous again. I then hissed out slowly.
"No."
I heard a couple gasps, making the room grew eerily quiet, I could drop a pin on the floor and have it sound like a truck running into a building. I looked around to see everyone staring at me, all the brothers and sisters of the Akuhei family that was there was taken back by my response. The look on Aizen's face was priceless though it was as if he had never been rejected or told no to. He was pissed off beyond belief. Ito was frowning towards me as well as Kumori. I then heard Genji say hatefully making me look at him
"Then if you don't want Aizen then go after Saito."
Saito smirks at Aizen as if he was proud to have yet another girl for himself, it was all a game to Aizen and Saito. I looked at Genji in complete disbelief and anger, I had chosen him not the other brothers. I then say while I could feel my nerves heightened dramatically but you could hear the seriousness in my words
"Lady Yoshi told us to pick who we wanted a chance at, and I chose you Genji. I do not wish for a chance with Saito or Aizen."
Genji's face was now in complete shock as he was staring at me, he was studying my face and eyes to try to seek out the lies but he found none. I could tell he couldn't find the words to say to me making me get even more nervous. I wanted him to know that I wasn't choosing him because my other options were gone and he was the one left. I actually wanted a chance with Genji, this was no game I was playing. I had picked him from the beginning of my studies. Silence still filled the place as Genji and I were staring at each other intently, I was patiently waiting for his reply. After a good five long minutes, I then heard Saito yell out hatefully
"Hey, do you think you are too good to be Aizen's or my bride? Well, look here honey, you are definitely not my choice in a bride and really far from it."
My heart tightened a bit making me frown at him. That was far from what I was trying to say. I then heard Aizen chip in saying
"Yeah you little bitch, you would be a fun play toy though."
My eyes widen, they were calling me ugly and not worth marrying, that I was only good for a fuck toy. I turned around to face them to hide the fact that their words did hurt I mean if they felt this way then Genji felt the same way as well, right? I stared at them in shock as their words were digging deeply into my heart. How could they say that kind of things to me... at least make it look like I had a small chance, or not say anything at all. My shoulders slump down as Saito and Aizen began to laugh at me making me feel even worse than ever. I saw Kumori holding her hand on her lips as the others looked at me with a bit of pity. I then say but only got out
"I-I never said that...."
The two began to walk towards me as the other girls were in the back snickering at me and were betting that I would die right now. My heart began to race as I thought my fate was coming up. All of a sudden I felt hands grab my shoulders making me stop and making my heart beat quicken as all three brothers tensed up meaning that Genji was gripping my shoulders. My heart picked up pace as His grip on my shoulders tightened a bit and I heard "hm?" behind me. I then saw Aizen begin to smirk evilly as well as Saito, this was making me extremely nervous, what was going to happen? Saito began to burst out laughing hysterically as Aizen practically yells out
"HA! My God Saito! She is still a virgin! Can't you smell her innocent blood? Hahaha, hey little bitch didn't you know that being a contestant to be a bride that you must sleep with the one you choose, you're going to be torn up into pieces."
My eyes widen as I stared at them in complete fear, my grandfather had forgotten to mention that to me. I could feel my cheeks start to get extremely red and wet as Aizen smirked at me evilly as if he was enjoying my suffering. I couldn't take all these judging eyes on me as I shoved my elbow into Genji's gut as I heard a loud humph. I quickly ran as fast as I could out of the mansion trying to get the hell back home. I had made it to the front rose garden I wanted nothing more to do with this place. All of a sudden, in a glimpse of a second, Genji was standing in front of me with a soft sad look. I slammed into his chest as I fell backward as I narrowed my eyes at him. I pushed myself back up as tears kept crawling down my face. I then hissed out
"Please... get out of my way."
"And go where Yurie?"
I looked up at him in complete shock and disbelief, how did he know my name? I frowned deeply, what else did he know about me? Did he know about my grandfather, the pain I went through? The embarrassment of my father's insane behaviors... the punishments of me seeing the outside world? I then see Kumori come up to us gracefully in her long dress. She looked at me with her big bright blue eyes and says
"Yurie... you can not leave here."
"Why? I am not wanted here... You heard Saito and Aizen, I am not suitable to be a bride... Genji doesn't even want me."
Kumori looked at Genji as he stared at me with no words for a second then he looked away from me as if he didn't care. Making me feel even worse about myself. I looked away as I say mostly to myself
"So it is true... once you enter this place you can not leave only by death..."
Kumori nods her head up and down as I dropped to my knees. This place was literally the death of me, I then say softly
"What will become of me since none of them want me?"
Kumori walked over to me slowly as she kneeled down in front of me while she caressed my cheek softly. I looked into her gorgeous eyes as she knew I knew the answer to my own question. Kumori tilted my head to the side making me get scared making my heart beat faster, was she going to bite me? Kumori got closer as I felt her lips press on my neck gently as she kissed my neck gently as she says
"It is shocking that you went straight to Genji."
I looked at Genji but slowly closed my eyes as Kumori kissed my neck harder this time. I could feel her opening her mouth and a point on my necking making me tighten my eyes in fear of what the feeling would feel like, I would have to get over it since I would become their blood servant. All of a sudden Kumori was pulled back and shoved away from me as I looked up scared of what was now happening. I stared up just to see Genji as he glared down at her as he hissed out
"W.... What did you just say Kumori?"
Kumori looks at me with a devious smile making me nervous, these people were making me into a nervous wreck already. Kumori licked her lips as she replies
"You heard me Genji, I was shocked to see Yuri just completely ignore your brothers and went straight to you. No doubt her first pick."
Genji just stood there in complete shock, after a while of nothing, Kumori got up and started to walk up to me yet again but Genji grabbed her arm as he hissed out
"She is mine!... She chose me after all. I want to be the first one to break through her skin. Why not try this girl as a bride."
