Standing outside a moonlit house,
I knocked at the door,
“Hello is anyone there”
But was replied no more.
My horse tugged at my elbow,
The wind whispered by,
The once stoned and now broken road,
Lay still with no passerby.
I knocked once more,
Only to be followed by quietness,
They heard my knock,
But replied with stillness.
My horse grew impatient,
And nudged me further,
But I knew they heard me,
Cause now they replied with faint murmur.
The sun hid behind the woods,
While the birds cried disapproves,
The woods hummed in harmony,
When they heard the distinct sound of the hooves.
