my dreams finally came true when i finally released my first mixtape.
upon releasing it, jimin and namjoon both decided to help me celebrate by going out to eat. taehyung came too, upon jimin's request. we went to my favourite barbecue place, the same one jimin had taken me to for my birthday.
after everybody ordered, we were all sitting around and talking. namjoon and taehyung got along well, which pleased both jimin and i.
"so, taehyung, have you always lived in seoul?" namjoon asked, taking a sip of his beer.
the youngest licked his lips before answering. "no, i moved here with my mom from daegu a few years ago, when my parents split up."
"you're from daegu too?" i perked up, suddenly interested in the conversation.
taehyung beamed. "born and raised."
"cool," i said, smiling lightly.

"good night guys! i had a good time," said taehyung, hugging jimin before he got into the passenger side of namjoon's car. as it turned out taehyung lived only a street away from namjoon so the older offered to drive him home.
"bye!" jimin called as the car drove off, leaving him and i alone on the sidewalk outside the restaurant. "ready to head home, hyung?" jimin turned to me.
"ah, actually i'm gonna stop by the studio. i think i left the computer running. i won't be long, okay?" i said, ruffling jimin's hair as he pouted.
"okay, see you at home then." jimin waved before heading down the street towards our house.
i started walking in the opposite direction, towards the studio.
it didn't take me long to get there, and though the building was locked, i had a key so i let myself in.
i didn't actually come here to turn off the computer. namjoon and i had made sure to close everything down before we'd left.
what i was here for, was to drink.
a while ago, namjoon had stocked our mini fridge with several different kinds of alcohol. i'd never taken any out of it, but tonight i was craving that ignorant bliss.
i grabbed a big bottle and plopped down on the couch, opening the cap and taking a long drink.
it would be a long night.

the time on my phone read 12:17 am, which meant i'd already been there for two hours.
i held the small device in my hand, the letters and numbers swimming before my eyes. i lost count of how many empty bottles were at my feet.
i was numb, and it felt beautiful.
i shut off my phone, tossing it across the room. it fell to the floor with a 'thud' but i wasn't concerned.
i tried standing, but on my first attempt i stumbled and fell backwards onto the couch. the room reeked of alcohol, stale and strong. i tried to stand up again. this time i was successful, and slowly made my way to the door using the wall for support.
the ding of the elevator doors opening stayed ringing in my ears for long after i got out on the main floor. i stumbled towards the door, but just as i was about to reach my hand out and twist the handle, i collapsed onto the floor.
i didn't get back up.
