Strange Occurences

A/N: I would recommend putting the video on loop since it's short.

Should she walk over to it and pick it up? Part of her, no all of her, didn't want to take a step near the fallen pack. She couldn't just leave it there. Well, she could, at least until Nathan came back. Still, she would need to go into the kitchen, so letting it remain on the floor seemed somewhat ridiculous. Her main concern was what had caused it to fall.

None of the windows in the house were open, so there was no breeze. Even if there was, it would have to be strong to blow a heavy battery pack off the counter. There was a chill in the air, though, despite it being summer. Perhaps, that was due to the strange atmosphere filling the house. Regardless of the cause, she couldn't just remain on the couch and live in constant worry of what caused the item to fall.

So, she slowly made her way down from the couch. She would pick it up later. Right now, she would call one of her parents to come over and check the place out. It was better to be safe than sorry after all. With this in mind, she headed past the kitchen, rather quickly, and went into her room.

The moment he saw her walk away from the battery pack, he acted. He had an idea of what she would do next, and he needed to make sure that no other parties became involved. Those individuals would be able to feel his presence just as well as the doe. They might interfere with his fun; they might take her away.

It had been so long since he had such company as the doe, and he couldn't allow for there to be a chance for her to slip away. So, it would seem that he would have to speed up his plans for the day. Not that increasing his plans' pace would ruin much, since he had twelve days to mess with her after the current day.

A smirk tugged at his lips, as he followed her into her room. Her phone was on the nightstand on the right side of the bed, and he watched as she walked over to it. Granted, he wouldn't let her touch the device. Keeping that in mind, he focused on the red curtains in the room and made them sway back and forth a little.

His little doe paused and gazed over at the now moving curtains. He trained his eyes on her when she peered around the room. Fear was evidently developing in her wide (e/c) orbs. Her gaze, though, turned up towards the air vent in the room.

Smiling, he looked over at the controls for the air conditioning and turned the dial up. The sound of the ac coming on resonated throughout the house, and a relieved sigh escaped the little doe's mouth. Her eyes closed for a fraction of a second.

Utilizing that brief moment to his advantage, he pushed the phone off the nightstand and heard it hit the ground behind the piece of furniture. Almost immediately, the doe glanced over in that direction and froze. The fear was almost radiating off of her, as she advanced cautiously towards the nightstand.

When she reached the item of furniture and started to look behind it, he moved the phone speedily out to the right side. She hadn't caught sight of the phone's action. Or, at least he presumed that to be the case, since puzzlement etched itself onto her features. As she stepped away from the backside of the furniture and out to the front of it, he noticed her gaze latch itself onto the phone off to the side. Having expected this, he waited for her to come closer.

Grin widening, he waited a couple more seconds until he tripped her. She went seemingly flying into the nightstand and knocked it over. A loud crashing sound followed, as the nightstand tipped over onto the phone. The lamp slid off the particle board surface and impacted the floor; it broke upon contact. Underneath these objects, crunching was heard, as the phone broke into multiple pieces and became useless.

Picking herself up, (f/n) sat up on her knees and stared at the mess before her. Luckily, only her arms and hands had hit the objects before they had supported her on the floor; she had managed to keep her head from colliding with anything. Not only had she broken a lamp, but more importantly her phone was beyond repair. Her mouth hung open slightly, as her mind tried to wrap itself around what just happened. One moment her phone was on the nightstand; the next moment it was on the floor.

Additionally, the curtains had moved, but they had done so after the ac turned on. Or maybe, the ac just made that sound a few minutes after starting. It was a possibility, but what about her phone? It couldn't move on its own. If it was on vibrate, maybe, but it couldn't have fallen off that quickly or could it have?

To make matters worse, it felt like that feeling of unease was even closer. She peered all around the room, as though someone was watching her. (F/n) couldn't see a thing, though. Was there something in the house with her? Could Nathan's house be haunted? If that were the case, then why did he let her watch over the place?

Originally, he wanted her parents to look over the house. Did he perhaps want to harm them? Was his friendship with them only deception? Still, that wouldn't make sense, since he had allowed her to come over instead. Then again, maybe he wished to harm her parents psychologically by getting rid of her. That just didn't seem like Nathan, though.

There was another problem if the house were truly haunted. Why hadn't Nathan ever been harmed? Or if he had been, why didn't he ever mention it? Again, why would he let her in if she would be in danger? Nathan just didn't seem like he secretly hated her family and her. Something about that reasoning seemed wrong; Nathan just wouldn't hurt them. She trusted that her parents knew what people to make friendships with.

Sighing, she knew that there had to be another explanation. If the house was haunted, it was probably became so after Nathan left. Nathan did collect antiques, so perhaps she activated something. There were the antiques on the shelves, which she had dusted earlier. She didn't think that it was one of those, though. After all the weird feeling and the first peculiar sound had happened before she had dusted that area.

Of course, there was also a more realistic explanation. The odd feeling was just because she was still getting used to being in a new area. As for the tapping last night, it was probably some animal. Concerning the battery pack, she didn't remember where she set it on the counter, so she could've carelessly set it on the edge of the counter. It lost its stability and fell. With regards to her phone, it might've been left on vibrate and proceeded to fall off of the nightstand.

Regardless of the correct answer, she needed to clean up the broken lamp and her severely damaged phone. Before that, though, she would just head over to her parents' house. So, she stood up and headed out of her room. Her feet carried her into the hallway and towards the front door.

Getting closer and closer to the door, it felt as though she were being trailed by something. She rubbed her arms like she had done earlier, but she didn't look back. In her quickening pace to get to the door, however, she lost her balance and went crashing forward. Unfortunately for her, her head hit the ground hard. (F/n) groaned at the pain, as she attempted to lift herself back onto her feet. Her vision was blurry, though, and her limbs didn't want to cooperate. Instead, she collapsed onto the floor, and her mind drifted into unconsciousness.

A loud chuckle left his lips, as he clutched his sides. He didn't think that she would try to leave the house so soon, yet she had decided to surprise him. Well, all the better for him, since he now had an unconscious doe at his feet. Drem crouched down in front of her and grinned. Flipping her onto her back, he blew some strands of her hair out of her face.

Frankly, he was glad that she looked nothing like that girl in the past. If she did, he might've killed her that day. Since her appearance was quite different, however, he could enjoy toying with her more. Then again, it was hard to just stare at her. There was so much more that he could do with the sleeping doe in front of him. Still, he didn't want to rush the excitement too much. Doing so would make some of his actions too repetitive, and he desired to keep her on the edge the entire time.

Before he got up, though, he positioned himself onto his knees and kneeled beside her head. He leaned downwards and ghosted his lips over hers. His little prey drew back as best as she could subconsciously. In the future, though, there would be a time where she wouldn't be able to draw back. Rather, she would find herself more trapped.

Getting back onto his feet, he decided that he might as well learn a little more about his doe. His tactics would be all the more effective when he had data on her. So, he gave one last glance at her. Her arms and hands were by her head, and her legs were slightly bent.

Scanning over her position, he bit his right thumb nail. Not rushing himself truly was a difficult task. If he lacked control, he would've restrained her to the hallway floor and kissed her lips. Being patient, though, he went into her room and stepped over to her pale green backpack. Inside, there should be her wallet, which would hopefully contain more than enough information on her. Several minutes passed before he had found her wallet and opened it up. Its contents were spread over the floor, as he looked over each piece. His brown eyes first focused on her driver's license. So, that was his doe's name. "Well, (f/n) (l/n), I look forward to making your life miserable and my life very satisfactory."
