the girl in the mirror | part 1
when i look in the mirror, i don't see myself.
i see a girl who has dark circles under her dull blue eyes-those eyes... they used to be the color of the ocean and they used to shine as if they hold the stars.
i see a girl whose skin have never felt the warmth of the sun for a very long time.
i see a girl who has her long greasy brown hair scattered on the sides of her pallid face.
i see a girl who has bloody chapped lips.
i see a girl with bruises, scars, and fresh wounds from her neck down to her arms.
i lifted those arms and i see her arms move as well.
❝how could that be? i'm not her.❞ i thought out loud.
we both blinked and frowned.
i see more and more scars and bruises on her arms as i look closer.
i felt a sudden pain beneath my feet so i looked down-
shards of glass.
i see shards of glass... and blood-my blood.
i look in the mirror and she's still there.
a tear fell from her eye;
i felt something slide down my cheek.
i see a girl in the mirror staring back at me.
i blinked and i thought she will do the same.
but
the girl in the mirror smiled.
❝i am you. you are me.❞
i shouted, ❝no! that can't be!❞
