Today is Saturday and I don't have to go to work. I walked in Lani's room and she was sleep. I stared at her tattoo on her thigh
Kehlani - A-August w-what are s-staring a-at
Aug - nun. Aye you wanna take speech therapy classes. You don't have to if you don't want to I'm just trying to help.
Kehlani - y-yes
She smiled.
Aug - go get dressed
She walked in her bathroom
I smiled to myself.
I showered and put on my clothes.
A couple minutes after she walked downstairs
She look beautiful like always.
She grabbed her purse
Aug - you ready
Lani - y-y-yes

15 minutes later we pulled up to the therapy center.
I signed Lani in.
She sat down. I sat beside her. She scooted away from me. Why does she do that?
Kehlani POV
I scooted away from August. I get he's trying to help me but I don't feel very comfortable around him like that.
He smiled at me.

Therapist - Kehlani Ramirez
I got up and with August and we walked to her office.
Therapist - I'm Doctor Williams
Lani - h-hi
Aug - hey doc
Dr. Williams - are you two dating?

Dr. Williams - I didn't mean to ask y'all look like y'all are together

I sat in the living room as parents argued once again about me taking speech therapy.
Felix - Karen it'll be beneficial to her.
Karen - I don't people think my child is slow. How would I look walking into that therapy place huh. Felix you don't understand people will think I'm raising a dumb ass.

Felix - you call her stupid to her face
She really does though. Daddy told me don't listen to that. What they say is only trying to lower my confidence.
I walked in the kitchen where they were. A 6 year old not really knowing why my momma saw me as stupid in my mind every 6 year old is like me bad and dumb.
Lani - D-Daddy c-can I-I g-g-get a c-c-cookie
He smiled and picked me up.
Karen - no Kehlani go sit down somewhere.
Daddy gave me a cookie anyway and some milk.

I smiled showing my two missing top teeth.
I hugged him he put me down and I walked out and sat on the couch and watched TV.
Dr. Williams - okay say car
Kehlani - c-c-car
Dr. Williams - okay say it again this time slower

Her watched beeped
Dr. Williams - okay same time next week. You did great Kehlani.

Aug - ight thanks doc
We walked out.
He stopped by the McDonalds
We went home.
I sat in the kitchen and ate. I could hear Chris, Dwayne, Bryson,Michael, and Travis.
I ate my food and threw my trash away.
I walked upstairs and closed my door and took a nap.

I woke up and heard laughing. I sat on the stairs and listened.
Dwayne - Aug you like this girl Kehlani.
Aug - I'm just helping her out.
Michael - for what
Aug.- cuz I want to.
Michael - she probably giving you the booty
Aug - no
Dwayne - you like girls you can easily take advantage of Aug.

Aug - shut up she sleep

Aug - and she way different from them other girls. She keels to herself. She'll zone out sometimes and just sit there thinking about something. She did when I took her to speech therapy.
Travis - you paying for her to go.
Aug - yeah
Dwayne - Bro Lani is slow. She just a charity case to you feel like you accomplished something

I stood up I heard enough

I walked upstairs and locked the door and sat in the corner. I'm just a charity case to him and his friends.

11:00PM
I knocked on Lani's door.
Lani - g-go a-away
I opened the door.
Aug - I'm sorry
Lani - d-d-don't l-lie
Aug - I'm not. I don't think of you as a charity case Lani.
She buried her head in into her jacket.
I lifted her head and leaned in. Our lips were only inches apart, but I didn't kiss her.
I pulled away and hugged her.
Kehlani - I a-accept y-your a-apology
She got up and walked in her bathroom.
I like her a lot. Fuck her speech impediment I want her.
