Erza POV
I watched Shadow and all though it seemed impossible, I felt as if I could see their very soul
"What do you mean if you survive?" Shadow sighed "normally a hybrid like myself can't survive on their own...their too weak...I can fight but I don't think I'll get off the island alive"
"Don't say that! If I get off this island so will you!" I stood up and walked over to them and offered a hand "together...we will get off this island" Shadow sighed and stood up
"You're as kind as the legend says...Erza thank you" Shadow walked away to a nearby river source. They sat down and took their helmet off revealing short black and silver hair. I approached Shadow and as their face came into view, they stood up and took the armour off and placed it gently in the water. I looked at their chest and saw bandages, they was female. She looked at me and smiled
"Surprised?" I shook my head "I didn't know if you were male or female but now I know how to address you but why hide it all?" She sighed "Female Wolf Knights are often frowned upon so I decided that it'd be best if I disguised myself as male, never take the armour off, never take the helmet off, nothing"
She kneeled and washed her armour before placing it on her again, she picked up the helmet and gently washed it
"This belonged to my father...the general Wolf Knight, I loved him but he never loved me...because I was a girl yet a saw a ounce of kindness on his deathbed several years ago" she ran her hand over the helmet tracing every scratch and damage to it
"In a way I honestly don't blame him...he wanted a son to carry on the bloodline, I was arrange to be married but I had ran away at that point...I couldn't marry someone I didn't know let alone love" I nodded and kneeled next to her
"How long have you been here?" She shrugged "three weeks I think" I gaped at her "and your still alive?" She nodded "the monsters hardly notice me, it's good actually it gives me time to get to know them and their routines...if you ask me I think there's more going on then it seems...I can feel it"
"What do you mean?" "I don't know but things are gonna keep getting worse" she stood up "come on I'll show you to a place where you can bathe and clean yourself" I stood up and followed her, near a hill there was hot springs and a mini waterfall on some rocks. She gave me some supplies and towel to wash myself before heading back to her base, I undressed and climbed in the hot springs.
