Chapter Fourteen
I sat down on the beach with Faith, wrapped in a blanket, as the guys grabbed some wood for a fire. We sat there silently; I was still in shock about what had happened earlier. I had spent the last couple of hours trying to think of what to say but I couldn’t find the right words. Faith herself seemed to be her own little world, smiling to herself. I was happy for her but it was just so unexpected, plus we still didn’t really know a lot about Antonio. He was still an outsider, I was still a little unsure as to whether or not we could trust him. After a few minutes I plucked up the courage to break the silence.
“So I take it you like Antonio then?” I said feeling like a complete idiot.
“He’s my mate Mia.” she said blushing slightly.
“Are you sure?” I asked.
“Of course I’m sure, I’ve been dreaming about him since I was a little girl. I knew the moment I laid my eyes on him.” she said looking over in Antonio’s direction.
“Why didn’t you say? You know you can tell me anything.” I said putting my hand on her arm.
“You had your own relationship problems I didn’t want to lumber you with mine as well.” She replied smiling at me softly.
“You still could have spoken to me about it; I will always have time for my aunty Faith.” I said grinning at her.
“I know Mia; it was just something I needed to sort out myself.” She said still looking over at Antonio.
I looked at her for a moment and I could see the love in her eyes. As I glanced over at the guys I noticed Antonio looking over at Faith, his eyes filled with the same love and admiration as hers. After another minute or so the guys started to head back towards us, they all had their arms full. Antonio glanced over at Faith and smiled; Luca gave me a seductive smile and bite his bottom lip as he looked me up and down. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Tyler looking over at the rocks, he had a smug look on his face. I looked over my shoulder and spotted Lucia, she was sat on the rocks and looking over towards the guys. She looked even worse then she had done earlier, she looked angry too. I looked back over at Tyler just in time to see him wink at her, which was soon followed by him tripping over his own feet and landing flat on his face. Faith and I couldn’t stop ourselves from laughing as we watching him jump up quickly and brush himself off. His cheeks had gone bright red as he gathered up the wood and ran towards us, I heard a faint laugh coming from behind us. I slowly glanced round and saw Lucia smiling and trying to stop herself from laughing. Her eyes seemed bright again, for a split second until she noticed me looking at her. She glared at me for what seemed like forever, with her eyes full of venom before she stormed off towards the house. My concentration was brought to the group as I felt Luca’s soft lips on my cheek. I slowly turned my head to face him, with a small smile on my lips. He stroked my cheek and then kissed me gently on the lips; I was surprised that his kisses still took my breath away as much as the first had. He walked around me and sat down with his legs either side of me, his strong arms around my waist. I leant back onto his hard chest and he rested his head on mine. I watched as Tyler silently built and lit the fire, I noticed him looking over at us and faith and Antonio occasionally. There was sadness in his eyes; he was the only one without a mate. Once he realised I was looking at him he started goofing around like normal but I knew it was all an act. I smiled at him and gestured him to come sit next to me but he declined and sat by himself. Faith and Antonio, who were a few inches away from us, could barely keep their hands off each other. They weren’t being over the top or anything; it was sweet to see the way they were together. They had to be touching one another in some way and were staring longingly into each other’s eyes. I envied them a little that they could be so open about their feelings, where as we had to hide ours but it was nice to see that Faith had someone. This thought brought me back to thinking about Tyler, there had to be someone for him. Luca must have sensed my sadness as he kissed the top of my head.
“Are you ok babe, you seem a little down?” he asked.
“I’m fine, I just feel a little sorry for Tyler. We all have someone but he’s all alone.” I replied cuddling up to him a little more.
“When the time is right he’ll find his mate. I had to wait a while before I found you. It will happen for him Mia he just needs to be patient.” He said giving me a squeeze.
We spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing in front of the bonfire.

I woke up the next morning and was surprised and overjoyed to feel Luca laid beside me. He had his arms wrapped around me and was snoring lightly. I tried to climb out of the bed without waking him but he gripped onto me tighter. He mumbled something in his sleep and nuzzled his face into my neck placing a soft kiss on my bite. Like always it sent waves of pleasure through me, making me smile and moan quietly. I laid there for a while but I soon felt and heard my belly rumbling. I tried once more to get out of bed, this time Luca just rolled over and let me get up. I stood up slowly and stretched my arms over my head, which felt amazing. I slowly walked over to the door and opened it as quietly as I could. Stepping out into the hallway I closed the door behind me silently. I quickly made my way down the stairs and headed to the kitchen, with a huge grin on my face. I had waited so long to wake up next to Luca. I walked into the empty kitchen and walked towards the fridge, as I opened the door and grabbed a box of eggs I had a great idea. I decided to cook Luca breakfast; I was going to treat him to breakfast in bed. I thought that maybe we could just spend the day in bed, spend the day just the two of us. Well if he wasn’t too busy with pack matters that was. I hummed to myself as I placed some bacon on the grill and cracked some eggs to make scrambled eggs. I was so preoccupied with keeping an eye on the food that I didn’t hear any one walk into the room. As I gave the eggs a quick stir I was suddenly aware of someone watching me. I froze for a moment to see if I could pick up on their scent but I couldn’t. I had no idea who it was but I could sense they weren’t friendly. I jumped around quickly to see Lucia leant on the kitchen island glaring at me. Like the first time I had seen her she looked stunning, she was back to her beautiful, confident self. This made me feel a little uneasy; I didn’t like the devious look on her face.
“Good morning Mia.” She said spitting out my name.
“Good morning Lucia.” I said back to her as I slowly turned back to the cooker.
I heard her walk around the unit and stop by my side; she leaned in towards me giving me goose bumps.
“Did you have a good time last night?” she asked.
“Yeah it was ok pretty chilled out really, why?” I asked confused as to why she asking about my evening.
“It should have been me out there not you. You’re nothing, you filthy half-blood!” she spat.
“How do you know about that?” I asked taking a step away from her.
“I overheard you talking to my brother yesterday and people talk Mia. You don’t deserve him; a future alpha deserves a real mate. A real Lycan.” She said stepping towards me again.
“Lucia you need to get over yourself, Luca is mine and there is nothing you can do about it. He will never want you!” I spat back her, finding some unexpected confidence.
“Oh poor naive little Mia, I’ve almost had him once sweetie. I want him and I always get what I want.” She said crossing her arms over her chest with a smug look on her face.
Her words lit a fire within me, she was right she had distracted him once but it wasn’t going to happen again.
“Dream on Lucia, he doesn’t want a desperate tart like you!” I snapped again beginning to feel my blood boil.
“I’m a tart am I? Well that’s better than being the daughter of a whore!” she shouted.
I felt something inside me snap, an anger I had never felt before. My skin felt like it was on fire and my joints burned. My stomach twisted and knotted, I could feel the rage taking me over. Before I had time to think I slapped her hard around the face and let out a loud growl.
“Take that back you bitch!” I growled at her.
She let out a loud growl of her own and her eyes quickly turned amber. She launched herself at me, knocking me to the floor. Her hands gripped into my shoulders as she pinned me down. With great ease I was able to push her off of me, sending her flying across the room. I was shocked and impressed by my new found strength. As she picked herself up off the floor she stared at me in disbelief, my strength had only angered her more. She slowly crouched down with an animalistic look her eyes, her body shook slightly as she shifted a few feet away from me. I had never seen anything like it. It happened in an instant but I could see all of her bones snapping and bending, her clothes ripping off her body. I could see her beautiful face morphing into that of an elegant black wolf. I had never seen a Lycan in wolf form before, it was breath taking. I knew she wanted to kill me right now but I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. She was larger than an average wolf and she looked fiercer. As she charge at me I acted on my instincts and charge back at her. As our bodies collided I fell stumbling back down to the ground, Lucia took a few step back too. Although in a split second her body was hovering above me and I could feel her hot breath above my throat. She was growling furiously making me close my eyes tightly. All the confidence and fire had disappeared, I felt I like a scared little girl. I feared for my life as she lowered her face a little more, her sharp teeth inched from my skin. Inches from Luca's bite mark; she wanted to rip his mark off of me. As my body shook with fear and a single tear ran down my face, I heard a loud growl from the kitchen door way. In a matter of seconds Lucia was knocked away from me, my eyes were still closed but I could hear her yelping nearby. After a short moment I slowly open my eyes, I turned my head towards the dining table and saw Lucia cowering in the corner. In front of her was a larger black wolf, a wolf that I recognised from my dreams. It was Luca and he was furious. I had to stop him before he killed her, she may have attack me but I didn’t want him killing anyone.
“Luca stop that’s enough just let her go she’s not worth it.” I pleaded with him.
He let out another growl and took another step towards her.
“She was going to kill you!” he shouted in my head.
I got up slowly and cautiously walked towards them, trying not to make any sudden movements.
“Luca stop, calm down just let her go. Please Luca just let her go.” I said in a calming tone.
As I took another cautious step towards him, I reached out and tried to touch his black fur. I slowly placed my down on his back and stroked him a few times. I could feel his body relax under my touch. Lucia must have noticed him relax too as she shifted back into human form. She brought herself up to standing and stood still for a moment in front of Luca and I. she didn’t seem to care that she was completely naked in front of us, or at least she wasn’t worried about being naked in front of Luca. She gave him a suggestive look before looking over at me.
“This isn’t over Mia, I always get what I want!” she said bitter before looking back at Luca with hunger in her eyes.
He turned head and licked my arms, which felt nice but strange at the same time. Within a matter of seconds he shifted back to human form too. He grabbed hold of me tightly and kissed me softly on the lips. He slowly turned back to face Lucia.
“Not this time Lucia.” He said smirking at her annoyed looking face.
“I knew you’d have an awesome body.” She said as she walked past us, stroking her fingers down his arm.
He growled at her loudly making her jump back and run out of the kitchen. Luca watched her until she was out of sight. He slowly turned back to face me and kissed me on the forehead, he pulled me in close to him and hugged me tightly. I rested my head on his chest, still trying to get my head around what had just happened.
“Are you ok Mia, did she hurt you?” he asked.
“I’m fine she didn’t hurt me too bad. I just might have a few bruises come up tomorrow, other than that I’m fine.” I replied looking up at him smiling softly.
“I swear if she had hurt you Mia I would have ripped her throat out!” he said in a serious tone which scared me a little bit.
We were soon both distracted by the smell of burning.
“Damn it!” I said quickly as I wriggled my way out of Luca’s arms and hurried over to the cooker.
“What’s that?” Luca asked from behind me.
“It was supposed to be bacon and scrambled eggs. I was doing some breakfast, it was supposed to be a surprised but now it’s ruined.” I replied still facing the cooker.
“Don’t worry babe, it’s the thought that counts.” He said softly.
“I was going to treat you to breakfast in….” I said as I turned to face him, being suddenly reminded he was stood there naked.
I could feel my cheeks going bright red; he looked over at me with a smirk on his face noticing my embarrassment. He walked over to me slowly and wrapped his arms around me, pulling close to him pressing his body against mine.
“Is there something wrong with my body?” he asked with his lips against my neck.
“No of course not.” I struggled to say as teased me slightly.
“Good. I thought we should go back upstairs and get you out of these clothes, it’s only fair don’t you think?” he said as he lifted me off the ground and I wrapped my legs around his waist.
I looked into his dreamy and nodded slightly as he started to walked out of the kitchen and headed up the stairs
