Evangeline's pov:
LATER ON IN THE NIGHT the vk's and I are hurrying out of the school into the limo parked out front. "Jay, keys!" Ben called as he threw Jay the set of keys. "Remote." Jay called as he tossed the remote in my direction "You could've handed it to me, you know that right?" I ask my boyfriend with a raised brow, he sighs throwing his head back before refocusing his attention to me "Can you let me have my moment, please?" He said and I giggled
"Wait, something's wrong." Evie told us once she had gotten to the bottom of the stairs.
Ben, Carlos, Jay, Gia and I looked at her in confusion before she turned to Ben and adjusted the blue beanie on his head. I chuckle quietly before adjusting my corset top.
I see the dumb question forming in Jay's mind before turning to me "Hey, where's your beanie?" Jay asked her, furrowing his brows. I tilt my head to the side with a raised brow "One , my hair is curly and the frizz would be horrendous. Two, do I really need one? I look amazing — in the worst way, of course. Do I not?" I ask motioning up and down my body while doing a spin
"You do look incredible..." Jah trailed off his eyes roaming my body , before locking with my eyes , I lean forward and peck a kiss on his lips "Promise you'll listen?" Jay grabs my shoulder and leans his forehead against mine "Pinky." I assure before hearing "Ahem." I roll my eyes and look around Jay to see Gia standing there poking her hip out "Yeah, do everything but that on the isle." She advises and I laugh.
"Shotgun!" Dude called out "No, I'm a royal pup. I deserve shotgun!" Beignet protested. I walk around the limo seeing the two dogs "No, Dude and Beignet, stay. The Isle is too dangerous." Carlos told the dogs, making them whimper
"Did he just —" Jay started "Did she just — " I go and speak before Carlos cuts us off "Talk? Yeah, I know. Tell you later." Carlos spoke hurriedly "I let you pup-sit one time, and I get a talking dog in return." I scold Carlos with a stern look and he chuckled nervously before piling into the limo after Evie , Ben, and Gia. "He's an odd one." Beignet spoke "Go with dude, we'll — talk later." I say slowly and she nods before waltzing back inside
Jay grabbed my hand and led me to the front seat where we sat. "Once we cross the bridge, park under the pier near the garage. Got it?" Evie asked.
"Got it." Jay replied as he drove off. When they got to the border, Jay gave me a nod and i happily pushed the button for the magical bridge to form around them as we drove on it.
Jay held the steering wheel with one hand while the other rested on my thigh. "So, where can I get this piercing?" I teased playing with Jay's fingers , he snaps his head to me with a stern look and I giggle "Just kidding... kind of." Jay grips my thigh and I yelp "Okay! Okay! I'm not getting pierced. Goodness cranky pants." I groan crossing my arms
"I'm not cranky, I just don't wanna be back there." Jay said coldly looking ahead at the island in front of us . I sigh and turn away from the window and take ahold of his hands "It's alright, I'm here — right here, the whole time. I promise." I assure him and he nodded .
I leaned my elbow against the armrest , and laid my head upon it letting my eyes flutter shut, I feel Jay lightly scratch my bare shoulders as I drift off to sleep.
When we had completely crossed the magical barrier, Jay had shook me awake and my eyes dart open and I glance at my surroundings, Jay had gotten out of the car and I followed suit. "Ben, help me with the tarp." Carlos told Ben once he had collected the tarp from a dumpster. I watched tiredly, rubbing my eye with the palm of my hand. The boys worked to cover the limo before Ben began to wander off, looking through a large pipe.
I follow him and peer inside "Echo!" I giggle Hearing my voice echo in the pipe "Hey, what's in here?" Ben asked. Jay hurried over and pulled us away "You don't wanna know." He said sternly and I nodded
"Guys, chill. The last thing we need is our parents figuring out we're here." Carlos told Evie , Gia , and Jay who nodded in response. Ben and I shared a look before we followed the VK's deeper into the Isle. Ben and I started to wander off, our curiosity getting the better of us. As Ben went to shake hands with a mean looking pirate, I wandered off towards a not so healthy looking food stand.
Evie pulled Ben back just as the pirate had growled at him, Carlos going towards the pirate but Jay holding him back.
"Hey there gorgeous, wanna buy an apple? You can pay me in... other ways." The guy at the stand horribly flirted. His smirk made me very uncomfortable, his teeth were all jacked, and a bright yellow color "Uh No thanks, not hungry." I shook my head and started walking backwards slowly
I hear heavy footsteps behind me and see Jay , Carlos , and Gia Stalking over angrily. Jay wraps his arms around my waist from behind lifting me away from the stand like I was a feather, I look over our shoulders to see Gia pulling Carlos out of the old man's face before pushing him in our direction.
I rolled my eyes at their antics "I was handling it." I crossed my arms as Jay set me down, "Not fast enough." He retorted
"Keep your hands in your pockets unless you're stealing." Jay advised. "You either slouch or strut." Carlos added "And never, ever smile." Evie finished. Ben went to thank Evie, but Gia quickly shut him down. "No. No thank yous and drop the please too. Just. chill." With that, Gia placed her arm on Ben's shoulder and nodded.
"Let me tell you something you can really trust. Everybody's got a wicked side," she went to stand beside Jay, Carlos, and Evie "I know you think that you could never be like us. Watch and learn so you can get it right."
Ben and I stood behind as our friends dragged their feet. "You need to drag your feet!" They nodded their heads in a cool manner, I placed my hands onto my hips. "You need to nod your head.You need to lean back. Slip through the cracks. You need to not care."
"Uh, you need to not stare." Carlos flicked
Ben's chin up.
"You need a whole lotta help. You need to not be yourself. You wanna be cool? Let me show you how. Need to break the rules. I can show you how. And once you catch this feeling. Yeah, once you catch this feeling," they motioned over their bodies with their hands,

Chillin' like a villain." Ben tried to do the dance the VK's were doing, but ended up doing some kind of God awful chicken twitch. I hit him in his chest and he stopped immediately
"Hey! Chillin' like, chillin' like. Hey! A villain." Our friends flinched at us causing me to slightly jump in surprise, and they led us around the corner
"You draw attention when you act like that," Evie sang to Ben when he had tried to grab something from a man right in front of his face, "Let us teach you how to disappear. You look like you would lose a fight to an alley cat. You gotta be wrong to get it right 'round here. You need to watch your back. You need to creep around. You need to slide real smooth." Ben tried to slide like the VK's, but ended up knocking over a metal trash can which made me wince and pinch my nose in shame
"Don't make a sound. And if you want it, take it. And you can't take it, break it! If you care about your health, seriously, you need to not be yourself."
I sat on the fence on the other side of Jay, leaning back with my friends smoothly. "You wanna be cool. Let me show you how. Need to break the rules. I can show you how. And once you catch this feeling, yeah, once you catch this feeling you'll be chillin', chillin'. Oh! Chillin' like a villain. Chillin'. Chillin' like a villain," Jay and i turned our heads to look at each other as they danced, Jay sending me a wink before I turned his head away with a playful smile, "Chillin'. Chillin' like. A villain."
"We really wanna be bad a lot. And we're giving it our best shot, but it's hard being what we're not." Ben told the Vk's. "Well, if you don't you're gonna get us caught." Carlos told Ben
"He's right, we gotta stay low-key. Now show us how bad you two can be." Evie told Ben and I . I smirked, pulling out Gia's wallet and Jay's beanie from inside of my boots . "Like this?" Gia reached forward and snatched her wallet out of my hands while Jay felt around for his beanie before he grabbed it from me , earning a snicker from my lips
"Like this?" Ben asked, taking out Evie's sunglasses and placing them on his eyes and taking out Carlos' phone. Ben handed Evie her glasses back as Carlos took his phone from Ben's hands as he rolled his eyes.
"Oh, yeah, I think we got this." I nodded.
"Let's go, I'm ready to rock this." Ben added
"And we ain't gonna thank you for your help. I think we found the worst in ourselves." I sang as Ben and I did our childhood handshake. I walked around the right to walk between Jay and Gia.
"You wanna be cool. Let me show you how! Need to break the rules, I can show you how. And once you catch this feeling, yeah, once you catch this feeling. You'll be chillin', chillin'. Oh! Once we finished dancing, Jay picked me up and spun me around, making me giggle.
I look and see Ben way ahead , and he's clearly feeling himself. So I catch up to him and lean on his shoulder "This shouldn't be too hard." I said smugly "Now we just need to find —" Ben was cut off when we ran into someone . We look up and see Gil — son of Gaston.
"Hey, man. Hey! Hey, I know you guys!" Gil exclaimed. "Uh, no. Don't know you, either, man." Ben said as the VK's jogged up to us. "No clue who you are, actually."
"Uh, yeah, you do. Come on, man. Really?
Huh? Dude, I'll give you a hint. My dad is quick, slick and his neck. huh, is incredibly thick.
Come on, man. I kn--" Gil's Eyes then trailed over to the poster behind Ben about the royal cotillion and the neighboring one of the royal advisor and I roll my eyes.
"Huh? Huh. Huh? Huh. Oh! You're King Ben!" Gil said in realization. Jay tried hiding me but was too late "And your the Royal Advisor Evangeline!"
"Okay, let's go." Evie instructed pulling Ben forward and Jay protectively pushed me in front of him
"Yeah, yeah, you totally are King Ben, and you're J-Jay, Carlos, Gia, Evie. Hey, guys." Gil said as we walked away from him. "Oh, Uma's gonna love this!"
