The morning came in with a whole new chaos along with the glistening rays of sunny hope.
Reyansh stirred on his side and felt his wife literally wrapped around him like a panda.
She felt so squishy against his firm chest as her hollow breaths fanned his toned skin.
His hands slowly crept out of her hold and palmed her forehead to have a content smile as the fever had subsided over the night.
He glanced precisely at her face on how serene it looked without any care of the world. Involuntarily his hands stroked her plump cheeks and he feathered her forehead with a gentle kiss.
His peaceful time was disrupted by a knock on the door. Uncoiling himself from her, he moved out of bed only for Anaya to groan to have lost her searing warmth.
Reyansh unlocked the door and found Sid and Ishaan at the door. They barged in and saw Anaya sleeping like a cute baby cuddling her own self.
Sid was quick enough to pace to her and checked her temperature and was relieved to find it had lowered.
Ishaan was still standing frozen at his spot at his brother's threatening glare.
Reyansh quickly held his collar and barked at him so loudly that Anaya jerked out from her sleep.
Reyansh (shouting): Aaj ke baad tumhein dobara koi zimmedari nahi dunga.......itna bachpana bhi theek nahi hai Ishaan Malhotra.....and I will make sure you learn your lesson the harder way. Next month tera college khatam hone waala hai na......toh uske baad tum seedha hamare office join karoge.....and I don't want any objections from your side.....samaj aaya.
Ishaan (looking down): Ji Bhai......ab se esa nahi hoga.
Reyansh (furiously): Right.....ab esa kabhi nahi hoga.....kyunki iske baad tumhare haath mein koi responsibility mein dunga hi nahi......pehle yeh bachpana side mein rakh kar at least ek baar ke liye mature ban ja. Tab dekh lunga ki tu Malhotra empire handle karne ke kaabil hai ya nahi.
Ishaan (guilty): Sorry Bhai.....mujhe patah hi nahi chala kab yeh musibat ghar se nikal padi......mujhe patah hi nahi tha ki yeh ese hi chal padegi.
Reyansh (sternly): Toh isliye kaha tha tumse ki uska dhyaan rakh....itna toh tu bhi samjhata hai na ki Teri dost ek chalti phirti aafat hai....toh tujhe hi satark rehna tha
Anaya (in hoarse voice): Kya aafat musibat laga rakha hai.....mein abhi beemar hoon.....is wakt toh mujhse pyaar se baat karo...
Ishaan glared at her and Anaya started looking here and there in nervousness.
Sidharth (calmly): Ab voh sab chodo...Jo hua so hua......ab aage ka kya karna hai yeh socho.....kyunki maa ghar aa gayi hai.
Reyansh and Anaya widened their eyes in utter shock not believing his words.
Reyansh (confused): What? Maa ghar wapas aagayi.....kab? Kal hi toh maa se baat hui thi meri.....lekin unhone toh mujhse kuch nahi kaha.
Sidharth (sighing): Kal raat hi agayi thi yaar....jab mein ghar lauta toh is mandbhudhi ne sab golmaal karke rakh hua tha (pointing at Ishaan)
Reyansh (furiously): Ab kya Kiya isne.
Ishaan (nervously): Woh Bhai......kal hospital pahunchne ke baad Sid Bhai ne muje call karke bata diya tha ki Anaya warehouse aagayi thi.....lekin aur kuch nahi kaha......turant uske baad maa ghar pahunch gayi aur mujse poocha ki aap aur Anaya kidhar hai? Toh mei yeh toh nahi bol sakta tha na ki aap dono warehouse se hospital aake phonch gaye ho.....toh hadbadi mein meine yeh bol diya ki aap dono date pe gaye ho.
Anaya (slapping her forehead): Satyanaash hogaya......Dumbo itna bhi dimaag nahi hai kya tera ......tune yeh bol diya ki tera sadu sa Bhai mujhe date pe lekar gaya hai.....wah Bhai wah.....maa yeh bhi yakeen kare ki Ansh ne pathar kha liya hoga lekin date aur yeh insaan.....asambhav hai.
Reyansh (turning to her): Oh....toh meri biwi ko mujh par itna yakeen hai ki mein tumhein date par nahi lekar jaaunga....kamaal hai ....tumhari saari galat fehmi mein kisi aur din door kar dunga......aur tum Ishaan....pagal khaane ke logon se bhi batthar dimag hai tera......ab yeh jo bhi gadbad tune ki hai na....voh tu hi sameetega....
Ishaan (fake crying): Bhai...sorry Bhai.....sachi mein mujhe aur kuch sooja hi nahi ......maa toh bilkul itna gussa thi ki agar mein kuch ugal bhi deti toh mujhe kach chaba jati .....toh aap hi batao .....mein kya hi karta.
Reyansh (tugging his hair): Urghhh saari musibat meri hi gaale aake padi hai......mafia ke dushmanon se itna dar nhi lagta jitne mere khud ke ghar ke jeeviyon se lagta hain.....sab ek se badkar ek nalaayakon hai.
Anaya (complaining voice): Aap yeh bakwaas band karke yeh socho ki maa ko kya kahenge.....mere toh abhi se hi rooh kaamp rhi hai.
Reyansh : Tum toh chup hi raho......tumse se jyaada sawaal toh maa mujse poochne wale hai ......shit...kal toh maa ko yeh bataya tha ki hum dono hospital mein hain......ab yeh date aur hospital ek saath kese milau? Poori ki poori storyline hi change karne padenge ab.
Soon Sid recieved a call from Radhika asking all of them to return back home soon. Giving her a positive response he cut the call only to come across some tensed faces.
Later they told Reyansh about all the formalities that they completed for both of them at the hospital. Then he ushered them out to the car and himself stayed in the room to help Anaya with the clothes they brought.
While picking out her clothes, he didn't miss the glimer of tension etched visibly on her face.
Walking to the bed with the clothes still in his hand, he extended it towards her only for her to grab it from his hands. But that didn't just end like that as he clasped her cold hands in his warm ones drawing soothes patterns on the smooth expanse of her upper hand.
Reyansh (softly): Meri maa utni bhi khatarnàk nahi hi jitna tum soch rahi ho ......pyaar karna bhi jaanti hai ur daatna bhi ....toh ab gadbad ki hi hai toh anjaam bhi bhugatna hi padega na.
Anaya (squinting her eyes): Ha....gadbad toh ki hai.....lekin kisne...aapne...hai na.....toh anjaam mein kyun bhugtu?
Reyansh (murmuring to himself): Lo....mein soch raha tha madam maa ki chinta mein dar ke kaamp rahi hai toh thoda ache se baat kar lu.....aur isko attitude dikhana hai .... Mujhe bhi konsi pagal kutte ne kaata hai ki mein isse achese baat karne ke baare mein soch liya.
Anaya (narrowing her eyes): Kya chal raha hai aapke dimaag mein......Jo bhi hai mere baare mein bura hi soch rahe honge....hai na?
Reyansh (with a sick smile): Ghar chale?
Anaya (confused): Huh?
Reyansh (smiling with a sly sick smirk): Ghar chale ya aur kuch sunana baaki reh gaya hai biwi sahiba?
Anaya (sassily): Kapde change karne hai mujhe.
Reyansh (inching closer): Toh mujhse karvaana chahte ho kya? Uska wait kar rahe ho?
Anaya (nervously): Ji nahi ...mein koi wait shait nahi kar rahi.....ruko yahi par....mein change karke abhi aati hoon.
With that she sprinted to the bathroom with red cheeks and wobbly steps.
Soon they all settled int he car and drove off to Malhotra mansion.
The gates were opened by Radhika herself she welcomed them in. The expressions on her face were hard to decipher as she morphed them pretty well.
Anaya glanved at Reyansh and he greeted his mother by taking her blessings. When he didn't find her near him bowing for blessings he pulled her down hismelf and they both took Radhika's blessings
Radhika (a bit cold): Jeete raho.....tabiyat kesi hai Rey?
She asked completely ignoring Anaya.
Anaya did felt bad at how she easily ignored her presence but she too knew that Radhika was equally hurt. So she kept mum allowing the mother-son duo to converse.
Reyansh (smiling): Theek hoon maa...goli bas chooke nikli thi. Bandage bhi kar liya hai aur doctor ne kaha ki do theen din mein ghav bhi bhar jayenge.
Radhika nodded ta him and then asked the thing they all were dreading for so long
Radhika (emotionlessly): Ishu keh raha tha ki tu apni biwi ke saath date pe gaya tha......toh hospital kese pahunch gaya?
Reyansh (confidently): Woh maa...date nahi tha....bas lunch karne gaya tha bahar......woh is ullu ke pathe ne date mein convert kar diya.....lunch ke baad warehouse se call aya ki kuch gadbad hai ur waha pohonchkar yeh sab ho gaya ....but there is no other casualties presently.
Radhika nodded and Anaya was still standing beside her man shifting form her one feet to another uncomfortably.
Reyansh noticed this and asked his mom with hesitation.
Reyansh (tiredly): Maa hum bohot thak gaye hai......kuch dher rest karne ke baad breakfast pe baaki baat karte hai?
Radhika : Theek hai......tum dono jaake aaram karo.
Reyansh nodded and so did Anaya as if she had nothing to do rather than agreeing to him.
The brothers heaved a sigh of relief that finally they were put out of their miseries and that their planed theory proved successful in convincing their maa.
Sid and Ishu walked back to their room and so did Reyansh and Anaya following them through yhe stairs only to stop abruptly hearing Radhika's next words.
Radhika : Rey apne biwi se kahe ki gun koi khelne ki cheez nahi hai aur ainda mujhe apne kisi bhi bache pe ek boond khoon bhi nikalte hue nahi dikhana chahiye.
Anaya froze on her spot and so did the three others who were mentally smirking at their victory only to be demolished by their maa's witful dialogue.
Reyansh (cursing the informer): Damn it......matlab maa ko sab patah tha aur kisine unko pehle hi sab bata chuka tha.
Sid and Ishu raised their hands in surrender as Reyansh glared at them motioning that it was not them who let out this secret.
Anaya hung her head down and wents straight to their room and quickly entered the washroom
Reyansh soon followed her lead asking Sid to find out the informer who passed this whole event to their maa.
Inside the bathroom, a few stray tears slid down Anaya's orbs as she remembered how affectionate her sasumaa used to be with her at their first encounter and recalled the ways she just ignored her existence today. It hurt her really bad to have such a reaction from her radhika maa.
Reyansh (knocking the door): Anaya open the door....mujhe bhi nahana hai...phir breakfast pe bhi chalna hai
Anaya quickly wiped her tears and washed her face. Later drying her soft skin with the towel she noticed her red and slightly puffy eyes. She sighed in disappointment as how things turned out to be worst for her.
Soon further knockings probed Anaya out of her shell as she came out.
Reyansh noticed her red face and he knew she cried. Fuck him for all the things that happened....he should have been more careful.
Reyansh (looking in her eyes): Jaan....maa ko thoda time do....she will be back to normal soon......woh hum sab se bahut pyaar karti hai aur utna hi tumse bhi karte hai.....I am sure woh zyada der tak hum sabse naraz nahi reh payegi.
Anaya nodded and asked him meekly.
Anaya : Mein kya pehnu?
Reyansh (squinting his eyes): Matlab? Kapde hi toh pehna hai tumne? Aur kya pehna hai?
Anaya(nervously): Mera matlab tha ki kya mein kuch traditional pehnu? Shayad maa ko acha Lage?
Reyansh (sternly): Tum ab bhi bimaar ho agar tumhe paath nahi ho toh.....toh tumhein comfortable kapde hi pehnna hai....jab theek ho jaugi toh yeh sab Bahu dharam nibha Lena.....aur wese bhi mujhe nahi lagta ki maa tumhare dressing pe sawaal uthaayenge.....woh in sab cheezon ko itna bhaav nahi deti
Anaya nodded absent mindedly as the flashes were took solid to be unseen. Reyansh pulled her in for a forehead kiss and told her.
Reyansh : Stop overthinking. Aur jaldi se apna mangalsutra aur sindoor pehen ke neeche chalo....mein aata hoon.
She agreed in approval and he went in to take bath.
Soon she finished her attire with a whole new bride look after changing into a comfortable cotton kurti as she thought that would atleast uplift her maa's mood even after Reyansh denied her.
She went down immediately wanting to know if she had any chance left to make things right between them.
Hopping down, she found Radhika sitting on the dinning table alone and was gazing at somewhere distinct lost inher own thoughts.
Anaya knew she was upset and it hurted her to see her loving maa like this.
So she did what she felt right. She came and sat beside Radhika who till now didn't acknowledge her presence and but did as Anaya softly placed her palm on her hands gently caressing them.
Anaya (with cracking voice): Sorry maa......mein janti hoon ki aap mujhse bahut naaraaz hi......aur aapki narazgi bilkul jaayiz hai.....mein manti hoon maa humne aapko bahut upset Kiya hai par---
She was cut off mid sentence by Radhika.
Radhika : Mein jaake dekhti hoon ki nashta taiyaar hai ya nahi....itna time hogaya hai servants ne khaana bahar kyun nahi laaya?
Anaya sighed at her behaviour and decided to talk some other time as the brothers descended the stairs at that time.
Reyansh glared at her to wear that kurti even when he knew that she was comfortable only in her tshirt and trousers. She gave her best puppy eyes as Reyansh just scoffed at her stubbornness.
Reyansh (whispering): Maa maan gayi?
Anaya shook her head in no and he softly muttered.
Reyansh : Give her some time jaan.
She nodded and soon Radhika came with the servants serving the breakfast.
Ishaan (whinning): Maa aaj non veg kyun nahi hai?
Radhika (emotionlessly): Kyunki ham sabki vrat hai?
Ishaan (horrified): Hain kyun? Apko patah hai na ki mein ek din bhi mere chikni chameli ke bina nahi reh sakta? Toh ap mujhse aise zulm kaise kar sakte ho?
Sidharth (smacking him): Chup baith ja thodi dher.....aur maa kyun vrat hai hum sab ka?
Radhika (sternly): Kyunki hum sab kal Raj Mahal jaa rahe hai......aur koi shak ki mein khana kha loon?
Sidharth was surprised and so did the other three. Sid glanced at Rey and so did Ishaan......because her words came as a shocker for them.....as after their dad's death they never once returned to Rajastan.....more precisely to Raj Mahal......because Rajastan was their Father's kingdom where his family ruled. They were Royals but since their father backed out from his given position as he didn't want to create a rift with his brothers, they left Rajastan and settled here where he was placed as the Mafia king.....which later on was handled by his sons.....so going back to Rajastan out of nowhere was truly shocking.
But the shock on Anaya's face was telling a different story of confusion. Silly her not knowing what is Raj Mahal and why were they going there.
And then it striked her.
What if only maa and her sons were going and they were going to abandon her here in this huge mansion?
Or what if maa asked her to stay here alone for the rest of her life because she made her upset?
Could it be possible if some goons were arrangey to kidnap her when they all were away?
Her endless thoughts ran haywire and she was sweating profusely.
Reyansh too noticed his bukhad wife not eating the breakfast and was sweating greatly.
Reyansh clasped her hands and she immediately snapped her head at him who asked her what happened?
Anaya shook her head and snuggled into his shoulders dreading about the worst.
Ishaan almost choked on his watermelon juice looking at Anaya.
Sid widened his eyes as if she had grown too horns.
And our poor Rey was just amused by her stunt....he was literally shocked.
What was his wife trying to do by hugging him that too in front of his already furious mother?
Radhika (seriously): Yaha sab log khana khaane aaye hai ya ek dusre ko taadne?
Soon all focused back on their food and so did Anaya reluctantly as she knew those words were for her.
All finished and Radhika got up first but Reyansh interrupted her by asking the question swirling in his mind since long.
Reyansh : Esa bhi kya hogaya maa ki hum Raj Mahal jaa rahe hai?
Radhika (sternly): Tum log batate ho mujhe kuch karne se pehle? Nahi na......toh mujhse yeh puch thaach karna band karo .....mein bhi toh dekhun ki meri baaton ka koi maiyne hai bhi ya nahi is ghar mein. Sab apne bags pack karo kyunki kal shyaam hum nikal rahe hai.
With that she retired to her room after washing her hands.
Sidharth (mumbling under hai breath): Drama toh bus shuru hua hai.
Ishaan (trembling): Bas waha jaakar mujhe apne chicken Prem na thyaag karna pade.
Reyansh stormed off to his room and Anaya also followed him.
