Next morning all maan and jai were in the kitchen sharp at 6 am. They were preparing breakfast for tanu's Rasoi rasam. They wanted to finish cooking everything as soon as possible so that their badi maa doesn't get to know that tanu still doesn't know how to cook. Although all three brothers were sure that it doesn't matter to gayatri but tanu was nervous and didn't wanted gayatri to know the truth. They could have tried to convince her otherwise but even the thought of telling gayatri that she has been lying for past three mo tha to her were enough to bring tears in tanu's eyes and nine of them liked it. Tanu was there pampered princess and all liked her whacking and irritating them much more than making her understand something serious. After some time both jeet and tanu also entered the kitchen and found jai and maan working in the kitchen silently.
Jeet "good morning workers."
Jai gave him an irritated look "good morning watchman, aapka kaam andar nahi bahar hai, jaiye darwaze par khade ho kar pehra dijiye."
Jeet "Abey oye ye orders na apne paas rakh, bhool mat bada bhai hu main tera."
Jai "haan to aap bhi mat bhulo hum aapke chote bhai hai workers nahi. Jyada kuch bola na.........
Jeet covered the distance between them in a heartbeat and pulled his ear " Haan bol, jyada bola to kya kar lega tu."
Jai hissed "ouch bhaiya, main kya karunga bhaiya, kuch nahi kar sakta main, aap bologe to bas sun lunga, ab kaan chhod do pls."
Jeet twisted his ear more "kyun ab kya hua, ab nahi bhejna mujhe bahar?"
Before jai could say anything maan cleared his throat to gain their attention. Both looked at him and found him glaring at them.
Jeet left jai's ear "kya hai? subah subah aise kyun ghoor raha hai?"
Maan "bhaiya, jai aaj bohut kaam hai, aur aap dono ki bohut kripa hogi agar ye faaltu ke arguments na karke aap log apna apna kaam theek se kar le to. Agar badi maa ke kitchen me aane se pehle sab nahi hua na to sara plan kharab ho jayega."
Jeet "haan to isse bol na, isne mujhe watchman bola"
Jai "haan to aapne bhi to mujhe worker bola."
Maan "aur main aap dono ko chup hone ke liye bol raha hu." He said sternly.
Both jeet and jai pouted and muttered "hitler"
Maan palmed his face "dekhiye pls bas 2 ghante ke liye aap dono apne inner child ko control kar lijiye uske baad jo karna ho kar lena main kuch nahi kahunga."
Jeet "sirf aaj nahi, fir tu poore hafte kuch nahi bolega hum dono ko."
Jai "haan aur hamari next movie night par hum teeno ke liye jo jo hum bolenge wo bhi bana kar doge aap."
Tanu also jumped at the opportunity "aur next sneak out me hamare saath bhi chalega."
Maan gave them an irritated look "bhaiya aapko yaad hai na main aapse chota hu, aisa kya hi kehta hu main aapko jo aap ye ek hafte ki bail maang rahe ho. Aur jai beta aap kab mujhse apne liye apni pasand ki cheeze nahi banwate jo aaj ye bahana de rahe ho. Aur bhabhi aapko pata hai na ye sab aapki pehli rasoi ke liye ho raha aur aap mujhe hi blackmail kar rahe ho?"
All three were unmoved by his remarks and just looked at him.
Jeet "gyaan mat de, ye bata hamari conditions manjur hai ya nahi."
Jai "maan jaoo bhaiyu nahi to hum teeno chale yahan se."
Tanu "haan maan jaa nahi to soch le teri hi bhabhi ki image kharab hogi."
Maan couldn't help but chuckle at the last statement made by tanu "meri wo bhabhi aap hi ho."
Tanu pouted "to Tu nahi maanega" She asked looking little scared, little disappointed and alot cute.
Maan could never say no to her when she looks like that. Tanya jaisingh is his bhabhi in name only but the way she behaves makes him feel that he is talking to his younger sister. Although she knows when to take a stand and be assertive but most of the time she is just like his brothers, brats with golden hearts and cute antics.
Maan looked at her pouting face once again and sighed "maanunga na bhabhi, sari baat maanunga aapki. Par abhi pehle khana bana le pls."
Tanu smiled at him "haan chalo jaldi jaldi se shuru karo. Aur sab kuch bohut tasty banna chahiye."
Maan and jai went back to cooking whereas jeet went out to check on gayatri. Tanu settled herself on one of the chairs on the kitchen table and started eating the freshly cut carrot from there "waise aaj kya kya bana rahi hu main?" She asked.
Jai "aap bas ek cheez bana rahe ho bhabhi, sabka bewakoof. Baki khana to main aur bhaiyu bana rahe hai." He said chuckling.
Tanu's face fell listening to jai. Abhimaan saw that and glared at jai.
Maan "jai, jo kaam kaha hai wo kar, faaltu muh chalane ki jarurat nahi hai." Then he came near tanu and took the chair next to her "baki sab hum bana lenge bhabhi par kheer aap banana. Badi maa ussi se bhog lagane wali hai aaj."
Tanu "par mujhe nahi aati kheer banani."
Maan "koi baat nahi bhabhi, mein hu na, jaise jaise main bataunga aap waisa hi karna. Okay?"
Tanu nodded her head "par kuch gadbad ho gaya to?" She asked nervously
Maan "agar aisa kuch hua to hum tabki tab dekhenge. Aap abhi bina baat pareshaan mat ho."
By the time gayatri finished her morning prayers, maan and jai finished cooking. Maan was just telling tanu to keep stirring the kheer as it was almost done. Gayatri reached the kitchen and saw jeet standing a little away from the kitchen.
Gayatri was surprised to see jeet there "aaj tu itna subah taiyaar ho kar yahan kya kar raha hai bachcha?"
Jeet "aap aa gayi maa, pooja khatam ho gayi aapki." He said loudly.
Gayatri "Arre chilla kyun raha hai?"
Jeet smiled nervously and hugged her "sorry maa, wo aapko raat se dekha nahi na, to ab aapko dekh kar bohut khushi ho rahi hai."
Gayatri was confused at his behavior but her children behaving weirdly is nothing new to her so she just ignored it. She pulled back and tried entering the kitchen. Jeet blocked her way and stood in front of her.
Gayatri "ab kya hua?"
Jeet "aap kahan jaa rahe ho maa, ek to maine poori raat itna miss kiya aapko aur aapko KITCHEN ME JANA HAI." He almost screamed the last part.
Gayatri "pagal ho gaya hai kya jeet, ye kya bewakoofi laga rakhi hai aur chilla kyun raha hai baar baar?"
Inside the kitchen all heard jeet's voice and took their clue. Both maan and jai took off the aprons.
Maan "bhabhi bas do minute aur chalana hai kheer ko fir turn off the gas. Theek hai?"
Tanya "haan theek hai main sambhal lungi ab, jaoo tum dono jaldi."
Both nodded and came out at once only to find gayatri trying to get jeet aside. Both hasted towards them and blocked gayatri by standing in front of her.
Jeet saw them and was relieved "aa gaye tum dono, ho gaya sab?"
Gayatri "kya ho gaya?"
Jai "kuch nahi badi maa, kuch bhi to nahi hua. Kya hona hai, kuch bhi nahi hona. Kuch ho bhi nahi sakta. Is paapi samaaj me itni subah koi uthta hi kahan hai jo koi itni subah subah kuch karega."
Gayatri "kya?"
Maan "haan jai bilkul theek keh raha hai badi maa, aaj kal paap kitna badhta jaa raha hai. Duniya ke kone kone me adharmi log base huye hai. Sach me ghor kalyug aa gaya hai. Ye to kuch aap jaise pooja paath karne wale log hai jo duniya ab bhi chal rahi hai nahi to..... Ouch."
Gayatri whacked maan "kya ho gaya tujhe. Ye dono to the hi aise par tujhe kya ho gaya hai aaj?"
There was silence for a few moments when Jeet spoke "deficiency. Haan maa wo isse na deficiency ho gayi hai."
Gayatri was in no mood for their stupidity so early in the morning "kis cheez ki deficiency ho gayi isse beta?" She asked getting frustrated with all of them.
Jeet "wo maa isse na, isse wo.............
Jai " Prashaad ki, bhaiyu ko prashaad ki deficiency ho gayi hai badi maa. Roj pooja attend karte hi prashaad mil jata hai na aur aaj nahi mila to bas ussi ki deficiency ho gayi hai bhaiyu ko."
Maan "haan badi maa chaliye na, prashaad de dijiye."
Gayatri "prashaad to lagta hai aaj tum teeno ko hi dena padega wo bhi ruler wala, jaldi batao ab kya nayi harkat ki hai tum teeno ne?"
Maan at once went silent but the other two were far from done.
Jai "Arre ruler kyun badi maa, aaj koi mithayi nahi rakhi aapne prashaad me?"
Jeet "haan maa, subah subah kyun dara rahe ho aap. Aapko pata hai na hum teeno ko agar kisi cheej se darr lagta hai to bas aapke ruler se. Ab aap subah subah apne bachcho ko aise daraoge? Very bad maa"
Jai "haan badi maa, this is not done not done."
Gayatri caught their ears and twisted harshly "dekho subah subah pareshaan mat karo jaldi batao kya kiya tum logo ne?" As she finished saying she smelled something. "Ye kya jalne ki mehak aa rahi hai?"
All three brothers ran towards the kitchen and found tanu still stiring the burned kheer. Maan hurried and turned off the gas and cursed himself for not doing it before leaving the kitchen. He guided her throughout and still his bhabhi somehow managed to burn the dish.
Tanu, Jai and jeet also came there and saw the kheer and then looked at maan who just shook his head. Tanu's eyes filled up instantly.
Maan "bhabhi maine bola tha na gas band karne ko."
Tanu "Aree ki to thi."
Maan palmed his face "bhabhi aapne gas band nahi medium se full par kar rakhi thi."
Just then Gayatri came there "kya hua? Kya jal gaya?"
Tanu turned and hugged her tightly and started sobbing "I am sorry maa, maine kheer jala di. I really tried ke kheer theek se ban jaye but i messed up."
Before gayatri could say anything the other three came to tanu's rescue.
Maan "koi baat nahi bhabhi, ek hi cheez to kharab hui hai, baki sab to theek hai na."
Jai "haan bhabhi aur bhi to kitna sab banaya hai aapne, wo bhi itna achcha"
Jeet "haan tany, Tu ro mat, dekh baki sab kitna achcha bana hai."
Tanu pulled away from gayatri and started crying harder.
Gayatri wiped her tears "tanu, koi baat nahi beta. Bas kheer hi to jali hai na, baki sab to theek hai."
Tanu "par wo sab maine nahi banaya maa. I know aapko maine bola tha ki main cooking classes le rahi hu par main wahan gayi nahi kyunki unhone...........
Gayatri " Tujhe nail extension hata kar aane ko kaha. Pata hai mujhe."
All looked at gayatri surprised.
Jeet "aapko kaise pata maa?"
Gayatri "Kal jab tum chaaro raat ko baat kar rahe the to main pani lene jaa rahi thi. Tab dekha mannu ka room khula aur light bhi on hai to main isse dekhne gayi thi. And there you all were making this brilliant plan."
Jai "matlab aapko pata tha ki khana hum banane wale the."
Gayatri "Tu to mangane wala tha beta. Banane ka plan to mannu ka hai. Kyun abhimaan ji?"
Maan "sorry badi maa wo bhabhi itni pareshaan thi to hume jo theek laga humne wo kar diya."
Gayatri "bohut achcha kiya beta, par tum sabne ye nahi socha ki jab subah subah kitchen se itni khushboo aayegi aur usse jyada bartano ki awaaz aayegi to kya mujhe pata nahi chalega ki kitchen me khana ban raha hai. Aur jab tu in dono se help le sakti hai to mujhse help lene me kya problem thi tanu?"
Tanu "wo maa mujhe laga ki aapko lagega ki maine aapse pehle jhooth bola aur mujhe kuch karna bhi nahi aata to ye sab kar diya."
Gayatri cupped her face "jhooth nahi bolna chahiye tha beta, par tune ab sab sach bata diya to koi baat nahi. Aur agar tujhe kuch nahi bhi aata to kya ho gaya? Agar kuch important hoga to main sikha dungi aur fir bhi nahi aaya to bhi koi dikkat nahi hai bachcha. You are brilliant at what you do, you need not learn everything. Tu jaisi hai hai mere jeet ke liye aur hum sabke liye sabse best hai." With that she kissed tanu's forehead.
Tanu "par fir ye rasam kaise hogi maa? Maine to kuch nahi banaya, kheer banwayi thi mannu ne mujhse par wo bhi jal gayi."
Gayatri smiled at her "beta rasam karne ka matlab ye nahi hai ki tujhe sab kuch khud banana hai, tera haath lag jaye utna bhi kaafi hai bachcha."
Tanu "fir to Maine help ki thi maa, Maine wo chopped dhaniya se sab cheezo ki garnishing ki thi. Aur salad bhi maine hi kaata tha." She said innocently.
Gayatri wanted to laugh out loud but controlled herself and just smiled warmly at tanu "dekha, mujhe to pata hi tha ki meri tanu sab achche se kar legi. Chal ab jaa pehle muh dho kar aa fir mere saath mil kar kuch meetha bana le. Uske baad mandir me bhog laga denge."
Tanu nodded her head and went to her room. As soon as she left gayatri glared at her three sons "uska nervous hona to main samajhti hu, par tum teeno ko kya hua hai."
Both jeet and jai were about to say something when gayatri stopped them "mujhe seedha seedha explanation chahiye, koi nayi kahani nahi sunni. To tum dono chup raho mannu batayega." With that she looked at maan.
Maan "aapko sab pata to hai badi maa aur kya bataun?"
Gayatri "ye batao beta, ki agar tum chaaro me koi ek bewakoofi karta hai to baaki teen bhi uske peeche peeche kyun chal dete ho?"
Maan "in dono ka to pata nahi badi maa par main bhabhi ko mana nahi kar pata."
Jeet "hamara nahi pata matlab? Abey hum bhi kahan mana kar paate hai usse?" He said irritated.
Jai "haan badi maa bhabhi to mujhse bhi jyada cute hai. Aur wo roti huye bhaiya se bhi jyada ugly lagti hai."
Jeet whacked jai first and then spoke to gayatri "haan maa ye sara raita na ye tany hi failati hai. Jab dekho apne cute hone ka fayeda uthati rehti hai. Raat ko khud hi bola ki aapko kuch pata nahi lagna chahiye aur ab khud hi sab bata diya."
Gayatri was torn between emotions, she didn't knew whether to be happy that her sons love and respect her daughter so much or to be angry that all her children cook some sort of mischief at drop of a hat.
Gayatri "jeet, beta teri shadi ho gayi hai ab, pls ab to bada ho jaa. Dekh main nahi chahti ki kal ko main tere bachcho aage bhi tujhe daantu, so pls beta grow up."
Where jeet sulked listening to her jai and maan were laughing hard. Gayatri glared at them and both stopped laughing at once.
Gayatri "mannu beta i am really happy that you are acting your age bachcha par pls already in dono ko sambhalna bohut mushkil hai, at least Tu to thoda samjhdari se kaam liya kar."
Maan "ji badi maa."
Gayatri caressed his face and turned to deal with the mess. The moment she turned jai teased his brothers "dekha sirf aap dono ko daant padi mujhe kuch nahi bola badi maa ne" He said and showed his tongue to both his brothers.
Gayatri turned back and pulled his ear "tujhe isliye daant nahi padi beta kyunki tu bilkul chikna ghada hai, tujhe jitna marji samjhao par tu sharaarto se aur sharaarte tujhse door reh hi nahi sakti. Aur waise bhi jab kaam tere partner in crime ka hai tab to tu bilkul peeche nahi hatega ye bhi pata hai mujhe." Saying that she lightly whacked jai.
Jai inturn hugged her "you understand me so well badi maa." He said pulling away.
Gayatri went around the kitchen and saw what all was prepared. After sometime tanu also came to the kitchen and gayatri helped tanu make kheer again. Once done gayatri poured some kheer in a bowl and went to their temple where she asked tanu to serve kheer as offering. Tanu did as instructed and both came out.
As they were making their way out of the temple tanu spoke "sorry maa, aapko bura laga maine aapse jhooth bola."
Gayatri "bura to laga beta. Par tera jhooth bolna nahi, tera hesitate karna. Tujhe pata hai tanu what makes you so special for me?"
Tanu shook her head.
Gayatri "tu meri bahu banne se bohut pehle meri beti ban gayi thi tanu. Mere chaar bete hai par beti sirf ek hai. And that makes you my most special child bachcha. Tune kabhi mujhe kuch kehne aur batane me hesitate nahi kiya. Agar maine tujhe apni beti samjha hai to tune bhi mujhe apni maa ki hi tarah treat kiya hai. Ab aise hesitate karke mujhe saas mat bana. Main teri maa thi aur hamesha teri maa hi ban kar rehna chahti hu. Theek hai?"
Tanu hugged her tightly "thank you maa. You're the best."
Gayatri pulled back "jaa taiyaar ho jaa, sab aane wale honge."
Tanu once again hugged gayatri briefly and left for her room to get ready.
