Lord, as you have shown in my dreams—
I was bitten by a serpent inside our home
I asked you what's the meaning of that dream
Since then, you have given me warnings when in danger
So I listened and prayed to you
And now, you bring the darkness into the light
I am surprised by the truth, I am.
Lord, these wounds I've got from the thorny vines
They left me in agony, my legs got numbed
As I proceeded, my torso was hit next
There's no air for me to breathe
And now, I am whipped by the thorny vines in my head
I can't see the road anymore—for blood and sweat are covering my face
This pain is excruciating, it is.
Lord, bind up my wounds so these won't bleed again
I believe you will heal me, just like you did then
I'll keep on walking—I can almost see a rewarding tree ahead
Providing me rest, making me lay down in the grass underneath it
The serpent, by the way, was an angel who rescued me before
Whatever reason he has for leaving from Your presence—I long for his goodness
Please hear my plea, Lord—can you make him an angel again?
