I gave Michael the big yellow hat I was wearing and he covered his face with it. I took him into the nearest bathroom and told him not to go anywhere. I left and asked Douglas if he had any spare clothes because Michael's were "dirty" then I asked August if she had any make-up since I wanted to look my best for dinner. They gave me the essentials and I went into the bathroom where mike was. He put on the clothes and I did his make-up. He looked a little different and he didn't resemble his self as much. I smiled and put on some lipstick in the mirror. "what are you doing?" he asked. I smiled and said,
"I'm looking good for dinner."
"but July, you look amazing as you are." he said blushing. I looked at him and said,
"Michael, how do you know my name?" he giggled and said,
"that lady yelled it when we were outside." I chuckled and said,
"That lady happens to be my sister, and she's the reason I'm putting on make-up. I told her I needed to use it to look good and I don't wanna be a liar." Michael smiled at me and said,
"well may I escort you to dinner ma'am?" I giggled and agreed.
When we walked in everybody eyed us. Michael and I's arms were linked.
As we huddled around the table and joined hands to pray, Michael volunteered to say grace.
"Thank you Lord for blessing us with the ability to be with others and our loved ones. Thank you for blessing us with food to fill our stomachs as well as the children's. Please understand we thank you God for giving us your only son. May he rise again Lord, and may everybody be nourished with the nutrients inside of this meal we are about to enjoy. Thank you for letting me to be able to enjoy this fine day with July and her family for we all love one another. They have accepted me and please do well to bless them in every way possible. For everyone who is not able to be as blessed as we are, send them comfort. Let them be joyous for the day that you rose, Jesus. Nourish them as well. In Lord's name, Amen." We all opened our eyes and I looked at Michael as everybody smiled. Michael blushed and grabbed my hand for comfort. August began to speak.
"My oh my. Boy you got an old soul to say such a beautiful prayer." she said giggling. I looked at her smiling and said,
"you have no idea."
