𝑵𝒐 𝑫𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒊𝒕𝒚 ~ 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒕, 𝑫𝒓. 𝑫𝒓𝒆, 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝑷𝒆𝒏

"Okay, tell us about Benedict", Rusty told Linus. They were all sitting in the hotel lobby. They had ordered a few drinks waiting for Saul and the Malloy brothers to enter the building and pass them.
"That guy's a machine", Linus replied, "he arrives at the Bellagio every day at 2 p.m. , same car, same driver. He remembers every valet's name on the way in. Not bad for a guy worth three quarters of a billion. Offices are upstairs. He works hard, hits the lobby floor at 7:00 on the nose", he kept explaining while Rusty and Amanda exchanged a look before they all stood up and started walking through the hotel.
"Spends three minutes on the floor with his casino manager", Linus said as they walked.
"What do they talk about?", Amanda asked as she sipped her drink.
"All business. Benedict likes to know what's going on in his casinos, likes to be in control. There's rarely an incident he doesn't know about or handle personally. Spends a few minutes glad-handing the high rollers. He's fluent in Spanish, German and Italian, and he's taking Japanese lessons. He's getting pretty good at it", Linus explained and as they walked Rusty took a glass with shrimps from one of the waiters.
"He's out by 7:30 when an assistant hands him a black portfolio. Contents: the day's take and new security codes. Then he heads to the restaurant", Linus said. Just in that moment Benedict passed the three of them as he was heading to the restaurant. Amanda eyed him carefully, studying his posture and the way he walked determinedly. She immediately understood that he was going to be hard to fool.
"Like I said... a machine", Linus commented and Amanda couldn't agree more.
"That portfolio contains the codes to all the cage doors?", Rusty asked Linus before taking a shrimp. Linus hummed in response before speaking up.
"And two minutes after they've been changed, he's got 'em in his hand", Linus explained. As they kept eyeing their target Amanda slipped an hand into Rusty's glass and took a shrimp, when he noticed he just gave her a look and she simply smirked.
"I tell you, you guys really can pick 'em", Linus commented with a nervous sigh and Amanda chuckled.
"This guy is smart as he is ruthless. The last guy they caught cheating in here, he not only sent him up for ten years, but he the bank seize his house, and then he bankrupted-", Linus tried to say with a nervous tone but he got interrupted before he could finish his nervous rambling.
"His brother-in-law's tractor dealership. I heard", Rusty finished for him with a playful smirk.
"He doesn't just take out your knees. The guy goes after your livelihood and the livelihood of anybody you ever met", Linus said nervously looking around. Amanda looked at Linus as she took another shrimp from Rusty's glass, ignoring his look.
"What? You scared? I thought I taught you better", she said smirking and Linus looked at her. She could see Rusty's confused look but decided to ignore it.
"You suicidal?", Linus replied looking at her and she simply smirked.
"You know me, only in the morning", she said as the smirk kept playing on her lips.
"Now what?", Rusty asked trying to get out of his confused state. He couldn't stop asking himself if or how they knew each other.
"Now comes a girl", Linus answered looking up the stairs and so did Amanda and Rusty following his gaze.
"She comes down after him if they're in a snit", Linus explained.
"Where's she come from?", Rusty asked as he too was looking up the stairs.
"Museum up there, she's a curator", Linus replied.
"Oh, here she is", he then said making Amanda and Rusty look up again carefully.
"This is just the best part of my day", Linus commented before a woman started walking down the stairs.
She had red hair and was wearing a red skirt with a matching shirt. As soon as they saw her Amanda and Rusty's jaw dropped and out of panic they quickly turned around. Rusty took Amanda's face between his hands and leaned his forehead on hers, trying to cover her as much as he could.
As the woman passed by, they pulled apart looking in each other's eyes nervously. Linus cleared his throat making them turn towards him before speaking up.
"I still don't know if we can us her yet. Actually, I haven't even caught her name", he said truthfully.
"Tess", Amanda said slowly.
"Huh?", Linus asked not hearing her.
"Her name is Tess", Rusty said for her seeing how her expression was changing while Linus just looked at them confused.

Back in the factory everyone else was working. They had managed to make a copy of the vault and just needed to add the final touches. Danny was checking they're work as Amanda and Rusty entered the factory, quickly reaching him.
"We have to talk", Rusty told him quickly.
"Okay", Danny replied calmly not moving from his spot.
"Now", Amanda just said as she started walking to the exit, Rusty following her right away. Danny followed them too a bit confused as they passed Linus since he was also walking inside the factory.
"Tell me this is not about her, or I am walking", Rusty told Danny seriously, "I am walking off this job right now".
"Who?", Danny asked confused as they reached the exit of the factory.
"Tess, Terry Benedict. Tell me this is not about screwing the guy that's screwing your wife", Rusty replied harshly while Amanda silently leaned against the doorframe behind him.
"Ex-wife", Danny tried to reason.
"Tell me", Rusty kept saying.
"It's not about that", Danny finally said, "it's not entirely about that".
"Guys, do you remember when we first got into this business? We said we were gonna play the game like we had nothing to lose", Danny started saying as Rusty kept pacing around.
"Well, I lost something. I lost someone. That's why I'm here", he said truthfully. Amanda scanned his expression, he was desperate to have Tess back and she knew it. Rusty scoffed as he looked around, then he looked at Amanda and gave her a questioning look at which she just nodded.
"Okay, here's the problem. Now we're stealing two things and when push comes to shove, if you can't have both, which are you gonna choose?", Rusty asked Danny but as he was about to reply he started speaking again.
"And remember, Tess does not split 11 ways", Rusty finished saying.
"If everything goes to plan, then I won't be the one that has to make that choice", Danny replied calmly and Rusty sighed looking around.
"How'd she look?", Danny finally asked.
"She looked good", Amanda replied this time making both of them turn towards her.
Rusty nodded before returning inside the factory.
"Thanks", Danny told her and she simply shook her head looking down.
"I know you love her and there wouldn't be any way that I could reason you out of it", she said truthfully as she walked closer to her big brother.
"Rusty told me about the talk you had the other day, but I still wanted to apologize", Danny told her softly.
"I think you've learned your lesson after being in jail for four years", she commented earning a chuckle from him.
"Come here", he told her and she did as he said leaning towards him and wrapping her arms around him.
He buried his face in the crock of her neck and smiled softly.
"I missed you, little sister", he said softly.
"I missed you too, big brother", she replied before they pulled away.
"Do you think that we will make it?", he asked her referring to the upcoming heist.
"Well, it will certainly be fun", she told him smirking. They both chuckled before going back inside the factory to help the others.
