In many ways I suppose I should be glad about this move, it means a new start.
A clean slate. A new begining.
I know there are some would just about kill for this opportunity... but what if people here don't accept me?
What if I can't make friends?
The biggest fear for most teenagers, right?
All those thoughts collided in my mind as I lay wide awake in bed.
I glance over at the alarm.
6:15am
"Ugh."
My alarm will be going off in about five minutes. For quite a while I've had sleeping problems. The only reason I set my alarm is incase a miracle happens and I can actually get more than three hours of sleep. But today, that wasn't the case.
I got up slowly, why not take my time?
I am up earlier than I need to be anyway.
I decided to take a bit longer in the shower, it was soothing.
I decide to let my hair air dry and leave it down and natural. My light brown wavy hair hangs mdown to my navel in layers, I put on light mascara and a bit of black eyeliner to make my hazel brown eyes stand out...ah outfit time.
I picked out my black leather jacket with a white crop top to show off my belly button.
Since moving I have had sort of a wardrobe change, this new found body has reset my confidence. After my slump last year I went into fit mode. The gym has become my best-friend, bringing out curves I didn't even know I had. I hold my old size 16 jeans over my waist in the mirror as a small smile of self approval washed over me.
"You've got this girl."
I put on some high rise cut up dark blue jeans that cut off at the ankle and my black mini wedge sandals on.
I stood in front of my full length mirror analyzing my body making sure I looked to my liking. A knock at my door followed by my mothers high pitched voice knocked me out of my thoughts.
"Amanda you should get going or you'll be late hun!"
I sling my new beige/brown messenger bag over my shoulder and take one last look in the mirror.
"Jericho Valley, here I come."
