The little date we had soon had to come to an end and I was sad, I was having fun with him.

I walked home with Cameron, hand in hand. We both conversed as we approached our houses.

"Thank you, for giving me another chance," Cameron said softly as he wrapped his arms around me, engulfing me in a hug.

I hugged him back tightly. "You don't have to thank me, Cam."

He let go of the hug and sent me one more wink before going back to his place. I watched him walk away in awe before walking to my place.

Before I could even open my door, the door swung open by itself. "When's the wedding day?" Amelia asked me as soon as she opened the door.

"First of all, why are you still here? Second of all, we're not dating." I told her.

"What!?" I heard Jay yell from my kitchen.

I walked inside of my house. And was instantly bombarded with questions.

"How are you guys not dating?"

"What was the point of this whole meetup?"

"What exactly happened on the date?"

"I was just spying on you guys hugging outside, how are you not dating him?"

"Be quiet," I said in a dull tone, which shut them up. "We're not dating because I wanted to wait a while."

"That's stupid" Jay murmured as Amelia lightly shouldered him.

"I'd give it about a week before we start dating again," I told them.

"Alright, We have to go. See you tomorrow, Brooke." Jay said as he approached the door while holding Amelia's hand. "Bye, Brooke!" Amelia waved with her free hand.

They both had left my house. About 3 minutes after they left, my phone pinged.

Cami 💗: Why did Jay and Amelia leave your house?

Me: You were spying on me?

Cami 💗: NO

I just happened to be looking out the window

Me: They were helping me get ready for our date

Cami 💗: Ooooh okay. Good night Brooklyn :)

Me: Goodnight, Cam <3

I turned off my phone and went upstairs to my bedroom.

~Time Skip~

I put my shoes on and left the house only to see Cameron waiting for me where he used to be when we were dating. "Oh. Good morning, Cameron"

"Hey!" He got up from my porch chair. "I wanted to walk to school with you. If that's okay." His voice hushed as he fiddled with his thumbs.

"It's okay. C'mon, let's go" I grabbed onto his hand and we were on our merry way.

-----------------------------------------------------------

When we walked into the building, I let go of Cameron's hand. I didn't want to draw attention and make people think we were dating again.

Cameron and I walked over to where we saw Amelia and Jay.

"What a beautiful sight!" Amelia cheered.

"What?" I questioned.

"You and Cameron walking together again, I see." Jay smiled at us.

Morgan and Lana walked up to us. "Good morning!" Morgan said excitedly.

"Hey! So are you two..?" I trailed off.

"Official? Yes, we are!" Morgan confessed as Lana smiled widely.

The group started cheering and congratulating the new couple. "And then there were two," Jay said as the rest of the group stared at Cameron and me, even Cameron stared at me.

"What?" I said and shrugged.

"What if Cameron makes the first move?" Lana asked.

"That's not a bad idea," Cameron said.

My face flushed. "No."

"Dang how you get rejected by the girl that likes you back," Jay interjected.

"You should not be talking right now bro." Cameron spat.

~Time Skip~

"Pops, I'm home!" I called out.

I walked upstairs when I didn't get a reply, he's most likely at work.

I waddled upstairs to my room with my bookbag in hand, pulling out my homework and placing it on my desk with a pencil next to it.

I started on my English homework before my phone pinged, then pinged, and then pinged again.

I tried my best to ignore it as I should keep my focus on my studies but I felt I should read it because what if it was my father?

I picked up my phone and clicked the notification bar.

Cami 💗: hi Brooke.

Why did he call me 'Brooke'?

Cami 💗: I just think you should know that I love you

Cami 💗: please take me back

I rolled my eyes realizing the joke they were playing.

Me: I know its u jay.

Cami 💗: 😨how'd u know??

Me: First of all, Cameron doesn't call me Brooke

Cami 💗: Damn bye

I placed my phone down on the desk and sighed loudly while squeezing the bridge of my nose. I wonder if they think that they're helping the situation we're in.

I worked on my homework until I completed all of it. Afterward, I sat down on my bed and started playing some random games on my phone for a hot minute.

---------------------------------------------------------

**KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK**"

I heard someone knock at my door. "Come in!" I shouted.

I thought it was my father but another person showed up in my doorframe. "Hi, Brooke!" Amelia said enthusiastically.

"Oh, hey. Why are you here?"

"Because Jade is next door with Cameron," Amelia plopped onto my bed. "Want to go to the gas station with me? I'll pay." she offered.

"Yeah sure, I'll go. But you having to pay is not necessary."

I got off my bed and threw on my slides right next to the bed. I walked toward my closet and got a sweater and a bag that had my wallet inside of it. I waved my hand as of way of telling Amelia to come on.

We both made it outside and we started walking down the sidewalk, talking about the relationship problem between me and Cameron.

"I mean, I do love him but I'm waiting to see if he'll give up on me. If he does, then he was never worth it." I mutter the last part.

"Oh, wow," Amelia whispered while still processing what I had just said. "But what will you do when- if he gives up on you?" Amelia questioned.

"Then I'll give up as well," I finished as soon as we reached the gas station only to be met with two other faces.

"Oh, what a wonderful surprise!" Amelia cheered and ran to hug her boyfriend who was standing with Cameron who was staring at them awkwardly.

I walked past the three and over to the gigantic refrigerators filled with different varieties of drinks.

I struggled to choose from a Vanilla Pepsi or an Arizona Sweet tea. My thinking was interrupted when someone spoke from behind me. "You should get the Pepsi, I mean you did tell me it was your favorite," Cameron suggested.

"You remembered? Wow, you're a creep," We both shared a laugh as I put the tea back.

I walked over to the snacks aisle with Cameron next to me. "Do you remember my favorite chips?" I asked him

"Barbecue Lay's" He answered with a smirk on his face.

I smiled at him and picked up a small bag of chips, I paused. "Would you like to share with me?" I offered.

"Sure," He shrugged. The smile on my face grew bigger as I placed down the smaller bag and picked up the share size.

We both walked up to the cash register and I put my Items on the counter and so did Cameron.

The cashier scanned our items and gave us a price. "$6.74," the lady said.

I reached into my bag and pulled out my wallet. My wrist was held by a smooth and slender hand. I looked up and stared at Cameron and watched him give the cashier a ten-dollar bill.

"Your change is $3.26, here you go." The woman handed Cameron his change and he stuffed it in his pocket.

I grabbed my items off the counter, "I could've paid for myself, y'know." I informed him.

"I know but I wouldn't be much of a gentleman if I let you," He said.

we both walked outside towards Jay and Amelia, who were playing tonsil hockey right in front of us. I looked away in disgust as Cameron yelled at them.

"Oh, no. Break it up, lovebirds!" Cameron shook his fist at them like an angry old man telling them to get off his lawn. They broke their kiss and Jay spoke, "Stay mad," His voice cracked. We all laughed at him.

"I have to get home, My curfews in 20 minutes" Amelia frowned.

"I'll walk with you. Later, guys!" Jade took off with Amelia.

I looked at Cameron who stared ahead with his mouth ajar. "I'm happy for their relationship but, God, they make me sick." He stated.

I chuckled at him. "It must be annoying how often they do that around you."

"It is!"

We laughed and continued walking forward. Although we were not heading home since we were going in the opposite direction, we allowed our legs to guide us wherever they wanted to go.

I looked ahead and saw a set of swings, a slide, and many benches. We walked ahead and made it inside the little playground and headed towards the benches (I wanted to go on the swings but Cameron was too tall for them).

~Third Person POV~

The two teens sat in the chilled breeze as they watched the sunset horizon. It truly was a beautiful sight, but Cameron stared at the other beautiful sight that was next to him.

The way Brooklyn's eyes shimmered as she stared into the distance, taking in the gorgeous sight. Her daze was broken when she looked up at Cameron. "Why do you keep staring at me?" She asked the boy.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Cameron apologized and looked away to the sunset.

"It's alright," The girl yawned and rested her head on Cameron's shoulder.

Cameron looked down at her, smiling gently. He spoke softly, "You look sleepy, do you want to head home?"

"No, after the sunset. It's too pretty to miss,"

Cameron hesitantly wrapped his arm around Brooklyn. She placed her feet on the bench and laid down on Cameron's lap, still staring off at the sunset.

Cameron gently stroked Brooklyn's thick wavy hair as her eyes slowly got heavier.

~15 minutes later~

Cameron stared as the Sun finally left his view and the sky darkened. "Do you want to head home now?" He attempted to ask the girl laying on his lap.

When he got no answer, he peeked over to see her face, he saw the sleeping girl as she let out soft snores. He smiled at her for a minute before trying to wake up. Cameron tapped Brooklyn as she groaned in annoyance. Cameron chuckled lightly, "Brooklyn~ it's time to wake up."

The girl's eyes fluttered open and she slowly got off of Cameron's lap. "Sorry about that" She stretched.

"That's the least of my worries right now. Come on, let's get you home." Cameron said sweetly.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The two walked home while having a nice conversation.

Cameron walked Brooklyn over to her house, making sure she got there perfectly safe and sound.

"Thank you for taking me home, Cameron. I'll see you tomorrow." Brooklyn stated.

She started walking away from Cameron. He stared at her get farther until he had a brilliant plan.

Cameron gently took hold of Brooklyn's hand and spun her around to face him. Without warning, he leaned in and kissed her passionately. Brooklyn was completely taken aback at first but soon found herself melting into his embrace. Cameron held her up by her waist as she grew weak in the knees. When she regained her composure, Cameron pulled back, leaving Brooklyn in shock and staring at him in disbelief.

"Goodnight, Brooklyn~" He waved to her and left her flabbergasted on the sidewalk.

Brooklyn slowly approached her front door and unlocked it. She kicked off her shoes and went to her kitchen table. She had no thoughts. All she could say about this day was.

Wow.

There is no way he's giving up on me.
