You woke up to a red flashing alarm.
You threw on your super suit and ran to the meeting room.
Bucky and Tony were already there.
"Hey, Skater," Tony smirked.
"Hey," you muttered.
"You and Super Soldier here are going on a mission," Tony ordered.
"Where?" Bucky asked.
"Downtown," Tony answered.
"What are we up against?" Bucky asked.
"Some person that has the power to transform people into whatever he wishes," Tony sighed.
"Okay," you shrugged, then turned to Bucky, "Ready?"
"Yeah," he sighed.
You two went downtown and fought for a few hours.
Then Bucky vanished from your sight.
After being unable to defeat the villain, you ventured into an alley.
As you were walking, a large white husky suddenly appeared from behind a nearby trashcan.
You decided to bring it home.
(Bucky is the husky who got transformed by the villain.)
Tony greeted you as you entered the door, "Where's the Super Soldier?"
"I lost him," you admitted.
"And what's that?" he pointed to the dog beside you.
"I found him," you smiled innocently.
Tony heaved a profound sigh.
"Please, Mr. Stark, he's adorable," you begged.
"Wolfy stays in your room and your room only," he sighed in defeat.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Stark!" you exclaimed with excitement.
You entered your room accompanied by the wolf.
"C'mon, buddy," you smiled as the wolf slowly walked into your room.
It appeared that the wolf took an interest in the Bucky posters displayed on your wall.
"That's Bucky," you told him, "he's sorta my work partner, I guess."
A big smile spread across your face.
"He's really handsome and attractive," you blushed before the dog jumped on you.
"Woah, easy Buddy," you smiled, petting his head, "What's your name, anyway?"
The dog gave you a couple of licks on your face.
"I'm gonna call you Bucky," you said in between laughs, "You remind me of him."
The dog barked happily.
"You like that, huh?" you chuckled.
He barked again.
"Good boy," you giggled.
You got up.
"I'll be out in a minute, just need to take a quick shower," you said before leaving the room.
You noticed that Bucky was cuddled up in your blankets.
You took your shower and came back in grey Champion sweatpants and a black baggy t-shirt.
"Hey, Buck," you smiled as his head perked up.
You grabbed your phone and got into the blankets, beside him.
"Can I show you something?" you asked.
He barked playfully.
"Okay," you smiled.
As you scrolled through the pictures on your phone, he noticed that a majority of them featured Bucky. (Meaning the human, not the husky).
You stopped scrolling when you found pictures from the day Steve died. (Endgame)
You let out a sad chuckle.
"That's me and Barnes," you smiled sadly, showing the dog this picture:
As you let out a sigh, you confessed, "I really miss him."
You switched off your phone and lay down, gazing up at the ceiling.
"We used to be best friends," you explained, "we were inseparable. I had a crush on him, he had a crush on Steve, I was always okay with it, though. I think Steve liked him back but who knows? But when Steve died, It's like Buck's soul died. I and he became distant. We still sometimes go on missions together but all he does is yell at me. I miss him a lot, I really do. I love him too. But sometimes, he goes a little far on the yelling, and it hurts to have him of all people, to get mad at me. I just wish he was like the old Buck again."
A few tears escaped your eyes.
The dog licked your tears away as you let out a small laugh.
"I'll go get you some food," you smiled, walking out of your room.
You came back with dog food for him.
He loved it.
"It's 11:00," you stated, "I'm gonna go to bed."
You lay in your bed as Bucky barked at you and leaped in bed beside you.
You giggled as he licked your face, "'Night, Buck."
--Next day--
You woke up at 3:00.
Your stomach was feeling upset.
You immediately went to the bathroom but, to your surprise, you started coughing up blood.
It finally stopped after a few minutes.
You got up, flushed the toilet, and turned around.
Bucky (the dog) was standing right at your feet.
"Hey, buddy," you smiled sheepishly.
You got back in bed and he, of course, joined you.
--A few hours later--
You woke up at 6:00 like you normally do.
You were sure the blood thing was just cause you were missing Barnes.
Bucky was right next to you.
"Morning, Buck," you smiled, "Tony already left with Natasha and Sam to defeat the villain, they should be back soon."
He barked playfully.
"Wanna go outside?" you asked.
He barked in response.
You spent the next half hour playing fetch in the yard before you went back inside.
You slipped off your shoes before Bucky jumped on top of you, making you land on your bed.
The dog was sitting on top of you while you lay under him with a smile.
You were lying on your back while Bucky sat on your stomach.
You saw the face of the husky slowly fade into Bucky's (the human).
You looked down in embarrassment.
"Bucky's been... Bucky this whole entire time?!" you thought.
(If anyone doesn't know, Bucky turned back into his normal self because the villain was defeated.)
Bucky quickly got himself above you in a push-up position.
You had your eyes squeezed tight and your cheeks were bright red.
He held himself up with one arm and lifted your chin.
Your face was full of worry.
And to be honest, you were worried. You were more than worried, you were scared. You confessed your love to the love of your life without even knowing it.
"Open your eyes," he told you, his voice laced with concern.
Your eyes fluttered open.
You avoided his eye contact.
"Look at me," he said in a comforting voice, a voice you hadn't heard since before Steve died.
"I-I can't," you admitted, feeling the urge to close your eyes again.
"Please," he begged.
After a long silence, you looked into his gorgeous, blue eyes.
"What's wrong?"
There was that comforting voice again.
"N-Nothing, I-I'm fine," you stuttered in embarrassment.
"We both know that's a lie," he half chuckled.
Your stomach got butterflies as he lowered his face closer to yours.
You shivered.
"You just shivered?" he asked.
"It-It's your metal arm," you lied, "it's kinda c-cold."
"Except my metal arm didn't even touch you," he smirked.
You tried to think of an excuse while your eyes wandered away and Bucky was now just centimeters away from your face.
"Eyes on me," he whispered gently.
You got goosebumps all over again when you looked at him.
Then he kissed you.
You had to admit, this kiss was the sweetest, best, most amazing thing that ever happened to you.
He collapsed on top of you, running his hand through your hair.
You both had your eyes closed.
Then he rolled over, so you were on top.
It was then that you realized, this isn't right.
You broke the kiss in a panic.
You got away from him as fast as you could, falling off the bed in the process.
You were sitting on the floor.
You scooted away until your back hit the wall.
Bucky looked startled.
He got up slowly, approaching you as calmly as possible.
You just felt like melting into the wall.
"What's..." he whispered gently, "wrong, doll?"
Your heart melted when he called you that.
"I-I thought you loved Steve...?" you muttered as he sat in front of you, just inches away.
He shook his head and said, "No, I've always loved you."
"And I know for a fact that you feel the same," he added with a chuckle after a long silence.
Your stomach got butterflies all over again.
Without warning, Bucky slammed his lips into yours.
He accidentally bit your lip, causing your mouth to open.
He slipped his tongue into your mouth.
You wrapped your legs around his torso.
He pushed you harder against the wall.
You just couldn't stop kissing.
Bucky stood up with your legs still wrapped around him.
He flopped you both on the bed, still kissing.
You spent the next half hour having a make-out session.
You both ended up on your bed, cuddling with each other.
"Do you really feel that way?" Bucky asked you.
"What way?" you responded.
"That you wish I was like the old me," he replied.
You stayed silent for a moment, "Yes."
"I'm sorry, doll," he whispered huskily, "I didn't mean to yell at you so harshly."
"When?" you mumbled.
"When we go on missions," he answered, "I just don't exactly know how to express my affection toward people."
"It's OK, Buck," you smiled.
