Muffled sounds lay just behind the thick, hazy barrier that separated her from the present moment. The shock of the hit she'd taken, of how hard of an impact she'd had against the wall...
She tried to blink, tried to move, but her limbs lay still, and her eyes remained open and glassy. Her head was turned on its side, her left cheek pressed against the cold floor.
Then-
Lips. She could feel lips on her other cheek. Someone was trying to wake her, bring her back to herself, but-
She couldn't say anything. She couldn't react.
Her mind hovered just between consciousness and unconsciousness.
Blonde hair tumbled into view and sharp blue eyes begged her to come back.
Who was this man?
...
She didn't know.
But he felt familiar... Was he important?
Yes.
A friend? No... Family? That didn't feel right, either. Perhaps a lover? Significant other?
Yes.
Ah. Right. This was-
I don't know. Why don't I know?
What was he trying to do, again?
I can't remember.
There was something... Wrong. Her head hurt. Her back hurt... Everything hurt.
Why couldn't she remember?
Who was this man?
...There's that question again. The answer was just out of reach, resting on the tip of her motionless tongue.
But there was another question that was beginning to take more precedence.
Who was she?

[A/N: based on another dream i had. for some reason, this particular part stuck with me more than the actual violence. don't know why, but i still want my answers on who the mystery guy was. also, he was not blonde or blue-eyed in my dream, i don't think. i dont remember what he looked like, i only went with the first thing off the top of my head :D]
