Pen's P.O.V:
I follow the map/instructions from Cabinet on how to get to Vortex's place, as I ride my bike through the street I look around until I found the building I was looking for.
Pen: "Starline Apartments"... This looks like the place!
One elevator ride later I get off on the 4th floor and look for a door with the number 7 on it, ounce I did, I simply knock.
*knock knock knock*
The door opens slightly enough for me to see Vortex's face or lack there of as a tiny chain across, He's got one those doors I see. He looked surprised to see me I can't really tell if it's a good surprised or a bad surprised tho.
Vortex: Pen?? How di- How did you find where I live?
Pen: Eehh I had some help, but I came here to check on you, you missed like three school days my guy. Are you ok?
Vortex: Yeah I'm just fine.
Pen: Then why haven't you been coming to school? You don't really strike me as the kinda guy to ditch classes. Actually can I at least come in so I'm actually taking to my friend?
Vortex: I don't know...
Pen: C'mon, you wouldn't shut out your pal?
Vortex sighs and closes the door but not to shut me out as I can hear the sound of him unlocking the door chain. As I watch him open it widely the first thing I notice is the fact that he's not wearing his hoodie, and for someone incredibly strong he does not have the body type I thought he'd have, not to say he's a twink but he dosen't seem to show any muscles either.
Vortex: Are you going to come in or stare with a weird expression?
Pen: Oh! Right, sorry...
I look around his apartment, He has a lot of those glow-in-the dark stars plastered around and I mean A LOT, on the walls, the ceiling, even on some of his furniture which I'm now seeing how little he has, I can see a sofa and a TV-stand with said TV as well as a work desk with a very weird looking laptop (at least that's what I think it is) but other than that and the built in essentials that's about it, no bed or decor other than those stars. I look to Vortex and see that he's keeping a distance for whatever reason.
Pen: so... where's your hoodie?
Vortex: In the wash, down stairs.
Pen: Do you have any others?
Vortex: Well I didn't think I need more than one till now.
Pen: Wait, are you telling me that you've been wearing the same hooded jacket and jeans ever since we first met???
Vortex responds with the little "eeeh..." gesture with a awkward look to him. This raises some concerns to me.
Pen: Well next time maybe send a text or something, here I'll give you my phone number-
Vortex: Well I haven't gotten a phone so...
Gosh if you could see my eye twitching right now...
Pen: You only have one set of clothes, [Vortex: For now.] You don't have a phone, dude how do you live?!
Vortex: I thought you came to check on me, not judge my life-style.
Pen: Well, yeah but seeing your home setup now raises more questions than answers. Like, where and how do ya sleep without a bed??
Vortex: Uuuuuummmmm... the sofa...? It's more comfortable than you think.
Pen: I've slept on a sofa before, not that great.
I attempt to get closer to Vortex and be more clear with myself but he keeps backing away or goes to the other side of the room.
Pen: Also what is this about? You're still talking to me but still avoiding me physically.
Vortex: I shouldn't have to tell you, and even I did have to you wouldn't get it.
Vortex looks up at the wall clock behind me and floats out the door.
Vortex: I should pick up my hood, maybe this time it's clean. You're welcome to stay and wait but.. don't look in my desk drawer there's some really personal stuff in there that I don't want others poking around into.
Pen: Yeah, sure.
He closes the door on the way out. Oh naive little Vortex you never should've given away the hiding place of your secrets, Especially to me! I open the drawer of his work desk to see what he's got, well this was disappointing just some cheap school stuff, a 24/7 Convince Mart employee ID and wait a ball pointed minute...! Under all of this junk is Cabinet's missing file! So Vortex was the one who stole the file on himself? But.. why would he do that?? Hmm, maybe I'll find the answer to that question if I look inside.
Pen: Man Paintbrush wasn't lying when they said these things have everything about the students written down. This has Vortex's height, personality description, man is his list of abilities long and complex.
Pen: Hey even his species is listed down herrrreeeee.....uh...
Pen: Oh...my... GOSH...!
