cold wind rushed past the small frail boy, a shuddered breath escaped his chapped lips as he shivered in the coldness of the emptiness of his bed. he blinked a few times trying to get rid of the blurry vision in front of his eyes but it didn't go anywhere, felix gulped licking his lips a few times only for them to dry out again, how cold it be so cold in the midst of august?
he tried covering himself with the thin sheets multiple times but it didn't help the cold, and so he gave in. lying there in the middle of his bed all curled up in a small ball trying to shake away the cold that only seemed to bother him worse

a tall boy walked down a street of rapid cars and bustling crowds, his long black hair flew away from his handsome face revealing his beautiful features, 'hyunjin?' a soft mumble whispered his name but it seemed as though it wasn't directed towards him, instead it echoed the boy continued to walk ignoring all the cars that rushed past him
he had been lucky to avoid the upcoming car and smoothly walk by it, it seemed as if he was being careless at his own will, not even sparing a glance at the rushing vehicles on one side of the road. if the constant honks and tires screeching wasn't enough to build a mountain of anxiety in your chest the yelling of the angry drivers sitting inside the respective vehicles must be
'why- hyunjin' the voice whispered again, worry dripping off of the words, but the boy in the black hoodie kept walking on the road with slow yet fast steps dodging all the deathly obstacles. but perhaps he wasn't as lucky as he had thought of himself when a large red truck appeared out of nowhere, not stepping on the breaks the driver ran into the walking boy sending him flying onto the road
"hyunjin!" felix yelled as he woke up from his deadly nightmare gasping and panting for some sort of air to fill his lungs, his eyes open wide and mouth agape while sweat dripped down his neck. he ran a hand through his messy hair taking in a deep breath calming down his rapid heartbeat
as he traced down his hand from his hair to his neck to his chest resting it there feeling his heart beat like crazy beneath his sweaty palm, a tear rolled down his cheek as he sobbed softly covering his face with his small hands and sobbing uncontrollably, this hadn't been the first time he's had these nightmares
normally it would just be the tragedy of his childhood repeating itself, the tragedy being his parents' death but this time it was hyunjin. being killed by the very same truck that the boy and his best friend had been in an accident with
there was nothing in this entire universe the brunette boy hated more than that red truck, he let out a loud sigh sniffling and wiping his tears, the brunette looked around the cold room attempting to figure out what time it was 1:40 am, he read on the clock set beside his bed
he licked his lips bitting on them as he wondered about something in his head, 'should I call him? I want to know if he's okay' felix had always been extra caring about everyone, it was one of traits he's had for as long as he could remember. And it mostly only got him disadvantages but it never really stopped him from being kind
He reached out a hand towards his side table getting his phone, he unlocked the device and typed in something. The shining light from the mobile phone in his hand lit up his face from below, making his dark eye circles visible which indicated his lack of sleep these past days, he anxiously put the phone on his ear tapping his ring finger and index finger together. something he did to help himself calm down
'what if he's asleep?' felix questioned in his head a few rings went on before someone finally picked up and a husky voice was heard from the other side "hello?" Felix sighed hearing that "hyunjin?" He questioned, voice unsure and heart heavy. "Yes?" The other boy spoke "are you okay?" Felix questioned furrowing his brows "yes I am" hyunjin replied, sounding rather annoyed
he sighed in relief feeling his heart beat get back to normal and all his worries wash away "Oh...good" the small boy replied and the line went silent for a second before hyunjin spoke up again "is that why you called me in the middle of the night? To ask me if I was okay?" He asked, his voice sounded raspy which clearly meant the boy had been asleep
"Y-yes... I'm sorry I didn't mean to bother you" felix muttered softly, biting his lower lip. He could hear the other male sigh from the other side as a bit of shuffling was heard "felix, are you alright?" Hyunjin asked, sounding much more awake and serious now "yes! Totally, don't worry. I'm sorry I woke you up" the freckled boy apologized once again "stop apologizing, you sure you okay? What happened?" Hyunjin asked making felix gulp
"I...I just had a nightmare, that's all" he replied in a low voice "was it scary?" Asked hyunjin "yea" felix muttered looked down at his lap "Are you alone?" He questioned again and felix answered with a small yes "are you okay by yourself? Want me to come over?" That was a very surprising comment from hyunjin as felix looked up to stare at his wall in shock "what?" He questioned "I asked, are you fine by yourself? Would you like me to come over? Because I can" hyunjin repeated himself
Felix's heart picked up its pace, what was he feeling? He couldn't quite put a finger on it, this feeling of being cared for was extraordinary "I um" he wanted to say something but no words came out of his mouth. He was too stunned by hyunjin's statement 'why is he suddenly so caring? Am I still dreaming?' his thoughts echoed nonsense "nevermind, I'm coming over" and with that the tall boy hang up leaving felix completely baffled
But maybe somewhere in there he was relieved, relieved to have someone by his side

Hyunjin walked out of his house, cold air pushing back his hair as he sat on his motorbike "stupid boy" he muttered before starting the vehicle and pacing away into the night, his black leather jacket billowing in the air
He had never imagined he'd be running out his house at 2 in the morning for a random boy but guess here we are, he wouldn't have done this for anybody, not even his own family. but he felt just too worried to go back to sleep. It's not like he could just fall back asleep after hearing felix so uncomfortable
It was stupid, truly. Caring so much about someone he barely knew for almost two weeks but he just couldn't help it, his heart was acting out of his control and despite his hatred towards emotions, he somehow liked this feeling
He liked when he felt oddly protective of felix, like he had this responsibility of making him happy and protecting him from all potential evil. And the boy sure took it seriously, when he has never even spared a moment for his real responsibilities that actually matter
The thought of felix being hurt even the slightest bit caused great anger and worry over him, he frets over the thought and races his bike. He wants to be quick so he can get there as fast as possible, he wants felix to know that he can be the one to call whenever and ever he needs for whatever
That he can be his knight in shining armour, he himself wasn't even aware of whatever storm was going inside him. Why he wanted to safekeep the other but pushing all thoughts aside he kept his foxy eyes on the road, with one thing echoing his mind 'felix'

The raven head practically ran up the stairs of felix's apartment building skipping a few steps so he'd get there quicker which was no effort thanks to his long legs
and once he arrived in front of the familiar door of the familiar boy's house he raised his hand to knock softly, curling two fingers and letting his knuckles collide with the brown wood door, soon enough small footsteps could be heard from the other side when hyunjin backed away and pushed his hands inside his hoodie's front pockets
The door swung open revealing a tired felix, their eyes met and a feeling of relief rushed past hyunjin. "Hey" he whispers, and hyunjin answered with the same remark, Felix's heart beginning to beat faster than he'd like it to at the sight of the tall boy at his doorstep, he realized how long they've been staring at each other so he quickly moved to the side and let hyunjin inside shutting the door behind "you didn't have to come...you know" felix spoke walking the two of them to the couch sat in the middle of the room
"You feeling okay?" Hyunjin completely ignored his words and instead went on with his' "yes" felix replied plopping down next to the ravenette. They looked into each other's eyes once again and welcomed the feelings they didn't recognize into their hearts before it was cut off by felix who tore his gaze away to stare at the coffee table
After a few seconds of silence hyunjin spoke up "what was the nightmare about?" And it caught felix's breath in his throat, was he to say the truth? Or should he lie? He can't just say he watched hyunjin almost die, or could he? "You...were hit by a car" well, it was far way worse than felix had explained it as but he didn't wanna go into the details about his horrific nightmare
And hyunjin was rather shocked at the statement, he wasn't sure what he was expecting but this was definitely not it "me?" He questioned again, perplexed and overwhelmed at the sudden display of care felix has put out
'he had a nightmare about me so he called to check up on me? Like he thought of me in the middle of the night and bothered to call me, just to know if i was okay' to say hyunjin was confused and touched by that would be an understatement
"Yes, you" felix replied turning to look at hyunjin again, "oh" was all hyunjin replied with and it made felix a bit upset 'was he making fun of me? Did that oh mean why did i even bother coming this is so stupid? He wouldn't make fun of me though, no. Then?' felix's thoughts ate away his senses when he was left gaping at hyunjin "I'm okay though" the taller replied, awkwardly
"Yes you are" felix threw in a soft smile just when hyunjin looked up to meet his gaze making the raven head melt at the sight "and that's why i called to make sure, and you were okay and so I was okay too... that's why there wasn't any need to come" felix replied making hyunjin sigh "but I came didn't I? Because I felt the need to, so stop complaining and go back to sleep. I'll watch you so don't be scared"
Felix stayed silent looking at his lap, sulking as he pouted. His eyelashes resting atop his bread cheeks and the adorable beak visible despite him looking down, hyunjin felt himself lose control at the sight, and smile. He was too adorable to not
While he appeared normal on the outside his insides were going wild, Hyunjin came, just at a single call, someone was worried for him, Hyunjin was worried for him, and to fix that he'll sit and watch him sleep so he can rest peacefully without fear
All those realizations left his stomach twisting
"I don't wanna burden you with my problems" he muttered almost inaudible but hyunjin caught it "you're not burdening me" hyunjin lowered his neck to look into Felix's eyes
Their faces an inch apart as he gazed upwards into the chocolaty warm eyes and smiled "I like..." He went silent, keeping his eyes locked with Felix's, like trying to search for some missing piece he lost. licking his lips before he spoke
"helping you" Felix's heart did backflips at the comment and he felt butterflies go wild in his stomach flying all the way towards his chest
A red tint painted his face as he nibbled on his bottom lip while hyunjin sat back straight "so, now, don't be stubborn and go to sleep" hyunjin let out. Taking a cushion from behind his back and pushing it onto felix, forcing the boy to grab it, who dumbfoundedly stared at his face with wide doe eyes before understanding what he had to do
He put the cushion behind him, on the other arm-rest of the couch, and scooted away from hyunjin to lie down on it, uncomfortably folding his legs so he wouldn't bother hyunjin who watched him lie down with a soft smile tugging his lips, to which he bit his lower lip to prevent from spreading
Felix lied down completely, hands over his stomach as he watched hyunjin stare at him as the other boy shooshed his hand in front of his face, signaling him to close his eyes and sleep. Which he did, letting his eyelids shut close as he let out a soft sigh
The handsome male watched felix close his eyes and wait for slumber to take over him, before he could do anything else he noticed Felix's leg hanging off the couch and the other turned under him watching how uncomfortable the shorter looked, so he sighed pulling the shorter's legs in his lap and resting them there
Felix opened his eyes at the action staring at hyunjin who stared back at him as nothing had happened, so he licked his lips and gulped before closing his eyes again and letting dreamland take him up to the skies, While hyunjin sat there watching him with a glint of protectiveness and adoration, and Felix could feel those eyes, take him to the sky and let him float in content.
