July 19, 2021. Monday. Rosie had left a text for Blake the night before about an idea for flower arrangements. She had also sent a picture of some color swatches. A dark purple, a light purple, a maroon, and a black. Blake was on board with this. She was ready for the conversation. She settled Zelda down for a nap and got out her phone. She pressed number three on her speed dial. Carla was number one. "Lover" was number two. Rosa Gutierrez was number three.
It rang. Blake put her feet up on the coffee table. Black socks with orange pumpkins on them. They were super cute. Seasonal. Maybe not the "right" season, but she didn't care. Halloween all year round! Her toes moved back and forth slowly as she waited. Up from the socks there were long black yoga pants, leading up to a dark purple tank top with a glittery pink skull on the front. Up from there Blake's currently purple hair was in a braid on top of her head. To her ear was her phone, ringing.

"*Hey, I'm just running late. I'll be there in two minutes with the cupcakes!" A hurried but enthusiastic response in Spanish.
"*... What?" Blake was confused. Who was getting cupcakes? Was Rosie in the area? No, she must think it was someone else.
Silence.
"Rosie?"
"*Ai. Sorry, uh, I'll text you tomorrow." Click.
Blake pulled the phone back from her ear. Rosie had actually hung up on her. What? Strange.
