With that on her mind, Gu Xi was distracted all the way until the end of the school day.
When school was out, Gu Yanxiao and Gu Chenyi came over and dragged Gu Xi with them.
"Why are we in a hurry?" asked Gu Xi, baffled.
Gu Chenyi, on the other hand, was very happy. "Big Brother is treating us."
"Big Brother."
"Yeah. It's somewhere close. Barbeque! Big Brother is already in line. Let's hurry up to get there and eat fast."
Pausing a little, Gu Chenyi added, "Oh right, don't eat too much, maybe just till you are 70 – 80% full. We will still have to eat some in front of Grandpa."
-– The adults of the Gu family were straight and were adamant that they do not eat out especially when it came to junk food.
As such, the few of them could only eat in stealth.
To avoid being caught, whenever they ate out, they would still have to have another meal with the adults afterward like normal.
Gu Yanxiao then said to Gu Xi, "Don't worry about time. Just enjoy. Push comes to shove, we will tell Grandpa that Gu Chenyi and I were playing basketball and forgot about time and you were waiting on us."
Gu Xi nodded.
"Doesn't Big Brother need to go to school?" She seemed to recall that Gu Yanlin was just 17 years old.
Gu Yanxiao and Gu YuanChen's faces almost dropped at the same time after Gu Xi's question.
Gu YuanChen, "That guy is a maniac."
"Why do you say that?" asked Gu Xi.
Gu Yanxiao went on to explain. "Big Brother had completed his senior high school curriculum two years ahead of time......"
After Gu Yanlin had completed senior high school, Old Mr. Gu had forcefully requested for him to major in Sociology at A University. Gu Yanlin was, somehow, able to complete the 4-year curriculum in just a year and a half. In addition, owing to Gu Yanlin's talent in electronic technology, the school had made an exception for him to double major.
Gu Yanlin was now taking classes in Country M as an exchange student.
Words had it that Gu Yanlin had also completed this semester's classes in just three weeks.
Gu Xi, "......"
That was a bit much.
Even she felt the other-siblings-are-so-strong-that-I-feel-ordinary pressure.

The three of them were chatting when Gu Xi suddenly noticed a car nearby and her eyes beamed.
It was Gu Shao's car!
"I'll pass. You go on." Gu Xi turned and said to the two of them. Then she saw Gu Chenyi's "abandoned" look.
Gu Xi gave him an embarrassed smile then, putting on a regretful look, shrugged and said, "I'll be lectured too if I am caught."
– Well, yeah, but must you look so excited when you see Second Uncle? And had no hesitation in abandoning us and going home with your dad? Besides, you don't look regretful at all, alright?
Gu Chenyi had a lot of mental activities as he looked at Gu Xi. He felt aggrieved: Whatever happened to him and Gu Xi being the closest in the Gu family?
It was lucky that Gu Xi couldn't read his mind. Otherwise, she would have retorted with: When did we agree on that?
Even if they did, Gu Shao would always be the first to her, then others.
Nevertheless, looked at Gu Chenyi's pitiful look and even knowing that most of that was faked, Gu Xi still stroked his head as though to comfort him and said, "Next time. I will go with you next time."
She then ran toward her dad's car.

That night, at home, Gu Xi dragged on her feet when she went looking for Gu Shao in his study.
Hearing the shuffling noises outside the door, Gu Xi looked up from his documents, looked in the door's direction, and asked, "You need my signature?"
"Mmhmm." Gu Xi nodded and shuffled in front of Gu Shao with her notebook in hand.
There were almost never any mistakes on Gu Xi's homework assignments but Gu Xi still looked through them carefully after Gu Xi had handed it over to him.
After he had signed on each subject, Gu Shao returned the notebook to Gu Xi and urged, "Don't stay up too late."
"Okay." Gu Xi nodded but didn't move.
"Dad......"
"What's the matter?" Gu Shao's tone lightened when he saw Gu Xi obviously had something on her mind.
"It's......" After hesitating for a little while, Gu Xi finally looked up at Gu Shao seriously and said, "I have a very serious problem to discuss with you, Dad."
