Yena's POV
***8 years ago - Middle School Graduation Day***
I am at the back stage of the gym right now with Chaeyeon, Chaewon, Yuqi and Yeji. We are waiting for the ceremony to start. You may be wondering readers why we are at the back stage. It's because the ceremony starts with our intermission number. I was supposed not to dance with them since I am not in Yuqi's club but Chaeyeon begged me for this and I agreed as long as Chaewon was with me since I know she is good at dancing too. We are all wearing our school uniform and jogging pants, to make us move freely because we are wearing skirts. Our shoes are sneakers.
"Goodmorning ladies and gentlemen, students and parents. The ceremony will now start. As a start, let's give a round of applause for SDC!" - MC
We all hear their applause and we start to go to the front stage one by one and proceed to our position.
Geez, my heart is beating so fast.

We perform as if we are performing in a show. We dance and change position as if we are singing it. The song is different from the original, it was freedo remix so it has a short dance break in the middle. They all shouted and clapped when Chaeyeon did the 'Baby I'm sorry' part where she kicked and did some sexy moves.
She is really good at these things, no wonder she is the girl next door in their club.
They all clap and shout again when Yeji splits. I didn't expect them all to shout and stand up while clapping after our performance. We all get down the stage and leave Chaewon there. Ms. Kim chose Chaewon to sing a song for another performance.
Chaewon is good at singing but she is shy to show it.
We go back to our seats, not minding what we are wearing. It was our school uniform anyway. As I go back to my seat, the song starts to play.

We all stand up and clap our hands for her when she is already done singing.

The graduation ceremony is done but we are still in school having selfies and pictures for memories. Dad gives me a flower then hugs me. Yujin and Mom hugged me too.
"Your brother has a letter for you since he has a schedule." Mom said after our group hug.
Yujin is the one who gave me the letter.

Congratulations on your graduation ori! You will be a highschool student this school year. I'm sorry if I didn't attend your graduation. I promise in your highschool graduation, I'll attend. Also, I may not tell this to you in person but, I am proud of you. Being a trainee and a student is hard but don't give up. I am always rooting for you, ori!

I smiled after reading the letter.
"Unnie, what time is your training?" Yujin asked.
"4PM but they said if I finish our celebration early, I can go back to the Entertainment even if it's not 4PM." I answered.
"Kaja, let's eat in your chosen restaurant and after that we will take you to the Entertainment." - Mom
"Just wait outside the school. I'll just talk to Chaeyeon about something." I lied.
Mom and Dad nod. We take a picture first before they leave with Yujin.
I just need to meet someone.
I leave the gym and go to the small field, at the back of our school. I take a deep breath and get the sticky note in the pocket of my skirt before walking to the field.
Yena, calm down. Everything will be fine. You practiced last night, remember.
As I was walking towards the bench, I saw two figures. Their backs were facing me so I can't tell who they are. I slowly walk closer to them so I can see their faces. As I was slowly walking, the girl on the right suddenly looked at the girl on the left. I was surprised to realize that it is Hyewon.
What is she doing here? And who is that girl?
"Ey, we will still see each other." Hyewon smiled at the girl.
I smirked when an action suddenly popped into my mind. I got my phone from my pocket and was about to record them when the girl spoke.
"We barely see each other since you are a trainee then now you are going to another school. Can we really do this?"
I was stunned to hear that voice. My hand that was holding my phone slowly lowered down on it's own.
What is the meaning of this?
Because of curiosity, I decided to remain where I am and listen to their conversation.
"Yuri-ah," Hyewon wiped something on Yuri's face.
"We gonna make this work okay?" Hyewon smiled at Yuri.
Hyewon never smiles. She is always cold and her face is always fierce.
Yuri finally looked at her and I could finally see her puffy eyes.
Why did my heart suddenly break?
Yuri nodded and Hyewon hugged her.
I regret staying here.
I gulped in pain.
"I am late." I mumbles to myself and turns my back to them.
Before I left, I took one last glance. I saw how Hyewon kissed Yuri's forehead. I clench my fist and leave the place hurriedly. While walking in the hallway, I saw a trash bin. I stopped in front of it and looked at my left hand that was holding the sticky note. I released a deep sigh.
"I should have confessed before I became busy. Maybe I have a chance." I hold the note tight, making it crumple.
"I can't believe that when I finally have the courage to confess, you are already taken." I shoot the note in the trash bin.
"Yena unnie!"
I looked at who called me.
"Unnie, Yujin is waiting for us in the school gates with Wonyoung." Chaewon said after approaching me.
I give her a forceful smile and a nod before I starts to walk.
*Timeskip*
We are at a tteokbokki restaurant right now. I am with my parents, Yujin, Chaewon and Wonyoung. Their parents are on a business trip so yeah, they will celebrate with us. They are so noisy while I am just staring at the tteokbokki. I have no appetite and my mind is elsewhere.
Why am I affected like this? Why does it hurt as hell? I hate this feeling. I am filled with sadness. What will I do? Maybe she was waiting for me there and then Hyewon showed up and she thought that it was me?
I sighed.
I should go there early, tsk. But if Yuri just mistook Hyewon, she shouldn't have been crying saying ' We barely see each other since you are a trainee then now you are going to another school.' , meaning there is something going on between them already.
I shuffled my hair.
Oh my goodness, this is driving me crazy!
"Unnie, are you alright?" Wonyoung asked.
I was back in reality when I heard Wonyoung's voice. I looked at her and smiled, as usual a forceful one.
"Yeah,"
"How was the tteokbokki, Yena?" Mom asked.
"Delicious." I said.
"You are not yet eating yours though." Yujin said.
I can't lie with this girl.
"I remember Ms. Honey will check our dance later and I didn't get enough practice yesterday." I stand up.
My father was about to speak but I spoke first.
"I'll go first. You can continue your meal." I smiled at them then kissed my mother and father's cheeks.
I left the restaurant hurriedly. I can feel the pain in my heart more and it is telling me to cry but I am holding it in.
I thought I just have a crush on her but I guess, I already like her. Maybe that is the reason why I am hurt like this. Is this the feeling of being dumped?
